@natasaurousrawrr hi...honestly ...anyone under 5'7 wont have a chance AT ALL...:( but there is still hope because at 14 i was 5'6..and im 15 now and 5'8...believe it or not..yoga adds a few inches to you because its all about straightning your spinal cord i did it for about a year and im 2 inches taller..ima keep doin it..oh..and eat healthy..as cliche as it sounds..drink alot of milk
swinch95 @ 5'6 is a good height. wait till your 16 and you should have a shot. You may get in to specialty modeling like areas like hands and feet for example.
@swinche95 not at 5'6 hun..but at 14 i was 5'6...and im 15 now and 5'8 because i was doing yoga..it straightens your spine and elongates yourself..trust me and try some yoga exercises whenever you can..and drink milk..i lost hope at 14 when i was 5'6 and told tht im to short and look at me now:) hahah good luck

@faeryfreak785 you're not old.. 21 is a good age to model.. not the best age but not the worse... and dont worry about having a specific look, as long as you're very good looking, sensual, simple, and professional, they will have a certain interest in you... be positive and go to the castings... good luck!

@MsLivinItup15 a lot of companys sign a agreement to only hire models above the age of 13. so in my case i get my braces off around the time im 14 so they said that hopefully i can start then.

@MakeUpByJenniferW there's no heigh requirements. but shorter models stay in editorial and catalog. very rare do the shorter models go on paris runways unless there's truly a greater talent.

Im 5'7, 15yrs old, 105lbs. Im very thin but I've noticed that most models have very strong jaw lines. I still have somewhat of a baby face. Is a strong jaw line one of the most-wanted characteristics that agencies want? What do agencies look for?
And should I start off with a smaller agency and then move up to an agency like Elite? Or could I start out with Elite although I don't have any modeling experience?
@johnwaynepresley, these are runway models or part time runway models. They have to be seen in the back rows. They would probably fudge it for a famous actress or musican, but they have enough bodies to not go lower than their minimum. Photograph models and actresses are generally short with most being 5'8" and lower. That's because they have to be shorter than their leading men (including Tom Cruise) which are generally in the picture.

Tips are -find what you really love to do with modeling-what genre- and what you niche is. Best advice I can give you. It might be a bit hard being the height you are though.
You have to know your market. You are short like me so Ford would not be your modeling market. There are many markets. Sample, example, you and I would probably fall under the petitite market. My advice do your research! You don't have to be 5'7 or taller to be a model. Many different industries!
barely. The only petite people elite accept ever is people younger than 13 years of age. I work with the kids section of ford modeling agency, so I don't have a problem.

Hello I see everyone is asking questions I was hoping if you could answer mine, Im only 16 years old I turned 16 in January, I submitted my photos to IMG models, but they told me my pictures werent clear enough, I wanted to know the weight requirements? Also Id like to know when its a good time to send them.. And or if its ok just to send two pictures?

@MakeUpByJenniferW there's no heigh requirements. but shorter models stay in editorial and catalog. very rare do the shorter models go on paris runways unless there's truly a greater talent.

@ExploreModeling catwalk model you have to be around 5'8...but they accept 5'7' like kate moss..i did shots for Elite in London...but...i didn't bring any clothes with me..and went normal with my clothes on...I'm only 5'5'...to be a lingerie model you have to be at leat 5'5' and over

When he says 5ft10 he actually means 5ft9, as nearly every model gets bumped up by 1 inch. Unless ur 6ft1 and u get rounded down.

i hope im what they are looking for cause ive been trying to get signed for the past 3 months. and i havent booked any interiews but im afraid that they are going to reject me and my dreams of being a model wont happen.

Im 5'7, 15yrs old, 105lbs. Im very thin but I've noticed that most models have very strong jaw lines. I still have somewhat of a baby face. Is a strong jaw line one of the most-wanted characteristics that agencies want? What do agencies look for?
And should I start off with a smaller agency and then move up to an agency like Elite? Or could I start out with Elite although I don't have any modeling experience?

@johnwaynepresley, these are runway models or part time runway models. They have to be seen in the back rows. They would probably fudge it for a famous actress or musican, but they have enough bodies to not go lower than their minimum. Photograph models and actresses are generally short with most being 5'8" and lower. That's because they have to be shorter than their leading men (including Tom Cruise) which are generally in the picture.

I live in B.C. Canada. There is no Elite Model Management here except in Toronto .
It's informative but, it's kinda not. being tall is not just one requirement. There is a HUGE variety of other things.

5'3" is short for most high fashion modeling.
Tips are -find what you really love to do with modeling-what genre- and what you niche is. Best advice I can give you. It might be a bit hard being the height you are though.

You have to know your market. You are short like me so Ford would not be your modeling market. There are many markets. Sample, example, you and I would probably fall under the petitite market. My advice do your research! You don't have to be 5'7 or taller to be a model. Many different industries!

barely. The only petite people elite accept ever is people younger than 13 years of age. I work with the kids section of ford modeling agency, so I don't have a problem.
