Just because it's all digital information doesn't mean that all the information is being received properly by the display chipset. Talk to a TV engineer, HDMI cables make a big difference. Also, after installing high end audio/video equipment for over 5 years I can personally speak to the unbelievable differences in cabling on every level.
Greetings, Purchased an 25ft HDMI Cable 24awg from amazon for 10 dollars shipped. Wanted the higher guage wire for the distance and in wall installation, cmple/ny
@gordanzzzz: Not true for a HDMI cable, the cheap cable theory is if you are using an Analog signal for digital signal like HDMI it does not matter either you get full output or no output not like Analog where you might just get 70% signal.
@gordanzzzz Thats true... With analog that can happen. It also happens with any switch boxes you have... but HDMI is light speed no matter what (SPeed of electricity)
If PS3 is next to a TV why buy long cable if u dont need it u will just be spending more money and long cable can make u laag if the distance is shorter 10101010 will arrive sooner to TV or monitor and than monitor can give u the picture sooner 2 !!!
@gordanzzzz Its only an example. Whenever you have a longer cable, you need to make sure it conducts well. Thats the ONOLY reason to buy expensive cables. Also, some people (Like moa) need to spend 50 bucks on a cable because its 24 feet from our Blu-Ray player to the TV. We need the 3d HDMI cables... they are 1.4
hey i got a new hdmi-hdmi cable and it works perfectly sound and all, but as soon as i install my GPU's drivers, the colour and general quality turns bad. I have a Dvi-Hdmi cable that works fine up to a resolution of 1360x768, any thing past that and i get the same quality as the hdmi-hdmi cable does with the drivers installed, any idea whats going on?
I had a similar problem. HDPC has been connected to a TV with HDMI cable. The problem has manifested the same way. The problem was the incompatibility of HDMI inputs on the TV (Philips). No solution other then change hardware. I bought a new TV (LG this time) and it works.
Depends on versions, v.1.4 supports ethernet and 3d images. As Rajit said the colours of the connectors are not really important. Some people suggest buying cables with a special shield to provide proteccion agains electromagnetic intereferences but it's not a seriuos problem and it will just make your cables more expensive so regarding to this... well you decide!
hi ranjit this is the first video i watched but when i got a new flat screen tv a Emerson Flat Screen TV 32'' and i wanted to play my game console (ps3) on it but all it showed was a blank dark screen i plugged my red white and yellow plugs in it but nothing like i told you before now im wondering are you supposed to buy a hdmi cable to play on it because there are no channels that say game i tried all theres a hdmi 1 and 2 and if i get one will i be able to play on that chaaneel
@troym1998: With PS3 you just get the AV cables by default, if you want to truly enjoy your PS3 you need to attach it via the HDMI cable not need to attach those old cables when you use the HDMI cable with the PS3, the audio and video will be routed via that single HDMI cable.
Actually i have a HDMI cable and i have a HDMI monitor also. when i am connecting HDMI cable from CPU to monitor its not working properly. In my CPU there is HDMI port also can u help me how can it work in my PC & i have a i5 processor
@devantaan: It should work, but I am wondering why you monitor if HDMI enabled is not working directly on the HDMI interface, first fix that....... check with another HDMI cable.
@geekyranjit actually when i am using HDMI cable monitor suddenly becomes off and after few seconds it becomes on and some times it is saying check digital signal cable so what is the problem behind that
@devantaan: Yep check with a different HDMI cable and if you get the same problem test you another display device....... if you a have a TV with HDMI etc....... also check the resolution that you are trying to set on your display card.
@geekyranjit I have one more problem also sometimes my video and mp3 files becomes hang and pc also and now it is going continously can you tell me what is the problem behind it. please help me
@devantaan: @devantaan: Get you PC checked by a professional could be a lot of reasons virus, malware or it could be also due to Hard-disk failing, I just had my dad's PC having a similar problem and it was Hard disk that had developed bad sectors and was failing.
@devantaan: Sitting from here I cannot be sure, there are tons of things that can go wrong that is why I mentioned that you get it checked via a professional they will check everything from proper voltages, memory, HDD etc
@devantaan: Yeah windows 7 32bit works and even 64 bit works great on Core i5...... if you are looking to have more than 4 GB RAM then windows 64 bit is suggested else 32 bit.
@devantaan: Windows XP works fine with intel Core i5 processors who said that it does not work, and yes windows XP its best to stick with 32 bit version, also it is recommended to use Windows 7 with these new processors like i5 or i7 coz these new OS are designed to use them much more efficiently, I you are buying or building a new computer I would not suggest Windows XP as it is almost at it's end of life.
@geekyranjit actually when i am installing window xp the letters becomes blurred and screen become dimmed, truncated or biased and when i am going to advanced under display properties it is not showing 60hz screen refresh rate and i installed all drivers also. Can you tell me why it is happenning
@devantaan: Are you have the same problem if you are using a different monitor with a DVI port or VGA port.
If its is even happening with another monitor / TV looks like your video card is busted, you might need to replace the same get it checked by a technician.
@devantaan what is the difference between 400w cooler master smps and other ordinary smps like intex 400w smps . why it is so expensive in front of intex smps. is there any advantage of cooler master smps
@devantaan: Quality components and how much real power they can provide the low cost 400 watts smps might not even provide 250watts at load...... If you build a mid to high end system with a good graphic card again rather than cooler master SMPS look at corsair, antec, seasonic SMPS they are much better.
@geekyranjit I have a window7 in my computer(Core i5). sometimes when window starts it becomes hang it does not proceed after welcome and when it proceeds it shows black display and cursor on monitor. can you tell me what is the problem behind this. please help me
@deepak17666: Can be due to a lot of things, to rule out hardware issue (backup ur data on a portable HDD) and then do a complete fresh clean install of windows 7 and do not load any extra software and see if you still face this problem, if you are getting the same problem then its a hardware problem and you need to get your computer checked by a technician.
Thanks for the video explanation. My only thought on gold plated cables is doesn't it ensure a more lasting build quality because it won't rust as easily or fray? *shrugs* Regardless though I could just buy lots of cheap HDMI cables and replace them as needed if they ever did break. Thanks!
@jacejai: I agree the only thing that you might get better with a expensive HDMI cable is better build quality..... but the signal output will be the same....... but again no point buying the expensive ones if they are 2x - 3x than the normal ones.....
@sujithsajeeve: HDMI connection is a digital connection so either you get the full quality 100% picture or no picture at all there is nothing like you are just getting 70% quality etc like we do in analog connection so buying a gold plated HDMI connector would do nothing....... you are just spending more.
On the other hand if its an analog connection (old cables like AV / Component etc) then the quality of the connectors matter but not with a HDMI cable.
@YUKAICHUNG1 Hi Mac Book Air is the ultra portable laptop which actually very thin and light and comes in 11" and 13". You wont get a built in DVD drive on Air which I don't think is a big deal as I don't remember last time I used my DVD drive. It comes with solid state drive (Flash) so no moving part as such and has instant on feature like iPad.
On the other hand Pro range is a full fledged mac book with all bells and whistles (13", 15" n 17") and is one of the most powerful l/top out there
@YUKAICHUNG1: For an iPad2 to connect to a your HDTV you first need that iPad HDMI adapter that is $39 and then you need a normal HDMI cable, I don't think so it will connect to a apple TV but connects directly to your HDTV.

I've found the only thing gold plated cables are good for is preventing corrosion if you live in an area with high humidity.
