  • "If we believe absurdities, we will commit atrocities." - Voltair

  • @commoncents78 The bible is pretty absurd. Good comment!

  • @Discern4

Paul expected the Endtimes before his own death, so naturally he wouldn't have wanted his slave followers to make waves before Jesus got there.

    Unless, of course ...

Timothy had not been written by Paul at all but by some later hand.

  • two very awesome videos.......thank you and keep it going.

  • @oregonatheist Thanks a lot!

  • Aren't there books today that are labeled 18+ because they contain adult themes?

Surely if this is the case, we can submit the bible to be 18+

  • Thats a nice remix of prophecy theme from Dune you have in the background music , i like that tune watch?v=m4SwFhfNh1w

  • @jmm1233 I had no idea it was from Dune, thanks for the link.

  • Thank you for the very nice organization on this issue. You've even provided some verses and points I previously was not aware of.

Favoriting for further study and future referance. =)

  • you can't lose if you are playing on both sides.

  • @eyallev ahhh good point, it seems God is more clever than I anticipated. He knows exactly what he's doing. He sits back and laughs as we annihilate ourselves trying to figure out His will.

  • religion is mental slavery. Grown adults warning people of hell and claiming to know whose in hell? mental slaves. they were threatened with hell so of course theyre all about saving people

i dont know how people can think going around warning people of hell is a good thing, sounds like punishment to me.

it does help create lots of Atheists which is a good thing but doesnt do much for their own agenda. great video

  • Wonderful Thanks

  • I think the problem is that people just use the bible how ever they wish to suit their own wants whether it is good or bad.

and that's the problem with religion.

Everyone is doing what they want with out proclaiming that it is indeed they who are in control of how they interpret the bible for what ever reason they choose.

It's ultimately one of the weakest reasons for one's actions. When it's ultimately they themselves who choose their own actions regardless of what is written. No god but them

  • Bravo my friend! Well said.

By the way as a black American currently living in the U.S I have seen a great irony. You might find it amusing but believe it or not the African American descendents of these slaves are among the most devout Christians in the country. My upbringing is a testament to the fact that the black church is one of the strongest and most populated sects of American Christianity.

  • @Skepticktok Makes me wonder if any of them are attending churches that supported slavery 150 years ago. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if there were some black americans back then that *agreed* with slavery, saying that it was God's will. The same indoctrination that causes a muslim woman to embrace and defend head coverings and male domination/abuse.

  • @Discern4 Since physical punishment and intimidation were routine, it would not be a stretch to conclude, especially with slavery being supported in the bible, that some Christianized slaves accepted these conditions without resistance. After several generations, there was also no memory of a life outside of enslavement. People who escaped enslavement were considered mentally unstable by the scientists of those times. The entire complexity of this issue deserves a series of videos.

  • I wana a small black slave boy for christmas this year! :)

  • @Discern4. Excellent videos, and the use of the quotes for and against slavery was a very effective device, showing that texts can be made to fit one's own prejudices. Thanks for posting, and keep up this vital work.

  • @derek24hudson thank you!

  • It seams that the southern interpretation of the Bible in regards to slavery was much closer to what the Bible actually states. But then again, only a very stupid being would use written words in a translation of extinct languages, copied and revised over millennia to convey an important message. If the words "Don't be a dick /God" was written in every languages in stones all over the world, and on the moon, I would be impressed.

  • @greyman000 said "It seams that the southern interpretation of the Bible in regards to slavery was much closer to what the Bible actually states."

    Yep, I agree.

  • God told me that pepsi is better than coke, but my neighbor said that God told him coke is better than pepsi. I ended up running my neighbor over with my truck, I'm sure God was pleased.

  • @chicarbiomed AMEN BROTHER. Kill those unholy coke lovers!

  • @chicarbiomed OMG LOL I guess your neighbor wasn't a 'real' christian. Or maybe god needed to cause a paradox so you could run him over and god could smell the fear, as he enjoys so much. Rofl

  • First! :-D
