your 3G on most all android phones is normally throttled. Over at heavenlymodz they have a software for free that may be able to boost your speed by removing the throttle limitation. search google for the link.
The problem might be congestion but I most often notice a problem when holding the device by the base. I'm very happy otherwise with the Nexus One but am hoping that the Verizon Version will solve some of the dicy 3G issues of the T-Mobile version.
Just wondering if this problem could be congestion of the network which can vary from one minute to the next. Despite the inconsistencies in speed, have you had any problems with signal strength and holding a strong 3G signal? Thanks.
Thinking of getting this phone myself and am researching the severity of the more known problems.
If you try the test at different times.I mean like at least a minute away from the first one you would get some what the same result. Its like if you turned on your computer and then turned it off right away after its fully on and operational its not gonna start up the same way as the first time????
yah i heard there was a problem with connecting to cell towers. and google has no tech support and t mobile cant help either. i so want the phone from the reviews but not now

I believe the problem with that is once you are not within 3G range you will get no data service.
