oh my god!! i cant belive it they are actuly mdanising them without the black buttons! still what a shame that thats more Express Lifts going Great vid!!
Cool, My fisrt time I have heard of an Apollo male voice. Thanks for posting. Mabey next time you could film the elevators at Kings collage hospital in london. It has 19 lifts!!! I know you'll be interested because it has new and old lifts including 1 platform lift. You may have seen the video tour of it on youtube. I might visit it one day, Hopefully this week.
It says that visitors and staff may be asked to vacate the lift for patients, and to respect patients privacy and not discuss about them in the lift. I used the first lifts many times this weekend when my son was born here.
Went in the lift there about 15-16 years back as my grandad was in that hospital.
Seem to remember something about having to change lifts on the way up(unless we went to the wrong floor). Also remember going up an escalator when we went in the hospital enterance. Did you see these escalators when you were there?
One of the main lifts doesn't call at level 2 (the main level of the hospital), but all others call at all floors (except the hydraulics, which are in a 3 storey section of the hospital).
...I've always thought it strange the central lifts in the main building (JR2 as it's officially known) have only been half modernised, but at least it means the original buttons will survive a bit longer. You were lucky to get an empty lift! The hospital is always very busy. Did you check out the other 2 Express's in the main building (I think they're called the north lifts, towards the back of the building). I have not seen these for 10 years, just wondering if they've been modernised too.
Damn, gonna have to investigate next time! Where are they..?
I did the Maternity lifts first (at the top of the hospital), then the centre ones, then the hydraulics, if I came any further forward I'd be in the new glassed front wing - is this where you mean? I thought these would be brand new lifts as looks like new building.
Not in the new wing, i've not been in there it's only been open a couple of years. Heading from the hyraulics on level 2, you go past the central lifts and go through a door on the left into the outpatients area. Follow this corridor, the lifts should be down one of the left turns off it. I've not been by them for a while, but they were never well signposted.
My local hospital! Have been the the first lift a few times recently to see midwives and radiographers with the missus. Shame the original fixtures have gone.....

The escalators go between levels 1 (at the entrance) and level 2. They are almost opposite the hydraulic lifts on level 2.
