  • I bought the mic, what other things would I need to get in order to use it with my laptop?

  • They're great. You can get these for $20 each at Musician's Friend and they're hot as hell - The cardioid pattern cuts right through the middle, narrow cone. The sensitivity is higher than the SM58, but if you have good vocal skills you want a hotter mic as opposed to the 'user friendly' microphones like the 58 which have a wide cone.

  • If I buy one, does it come with a microphone stand and/or XLR cable??

  • do you think this mic would be good for beatboxing ?

  • Nice mic. I recently purchased one. They seem to be very sturdy and they have a good sound, especially for the low price.

  • i have a question. Can you plug this mic in ps for karaoke and recording? please answer. Tnx

  • thank you for posting this.

  • no bass in the guitar

  • @MuseWeezerCool thats brobably coz the amp is shit and the trebel is at 10

  • Did you use 1 mic? Or more?

  • @aleksander791 its just 1

  • sounds good enough,

  • @0000song0000 As we're talking, I am using this Podcast Studio. It's very good, I had to purchase a Pop Filter for the Microphone though.

  • Does this come with a XLR cable?

  • @AVClip That obviously depends on where you buy it from...some places might offer a bundle with a cable, others may not. In my case, it didn't come with one.

  • is good for the voice??

  • @MrSudsteelo Yeah its decent.

  • i jus bought this mic in a 3 pack frm musicians friend!!! Great Vid Thanks!!!

  • Hey, I got a Behringer Xm8500 and a Behringer C-1. I can't seem to get that nice poppy snare sound. Any tips?

  • @Owheelbass Tune your snare. That will be the biggest thing. Then try mic'ing the bottom snare head.

  • These mics are fair...not the best but fair, i'll give in to that......but they are no replacement to the Shure SM57 and SM58 mics.

Youtube also compresses the audio and so it sounds very different in this video.

  • Do I need an XLR male or XLR female cable for this?

  • oh and i have a question, is your mic black or gray? cause they sell different xm8500s in different colors

  • holy crap, isn't the xm500 a live vocal mic? just as good with drums huh. kinda like the shure sm57 and sm58, they can record drums

  • Well its a dynamic mic like the sm57/58 so you can use it on pretty much anything. I get great results with it on guitar amps and bass drums.

  • For there Price you can not beat this mic, very similar to a SM58 for a 5th of the price. Good review , Well done..

  • Sanitarium!!!! 4:40

  • i just got this mic thanks for the vid now i know it ill be good to record with

  • excellent dude thanks a lot

  • no problem.

  • yay! No noise! Will be perfect to record my flash webseries. If I plug this mic directly to my pc's basic soundblaster 5.1 sound card (Don't remember exact model) the sound will be this clear? Or get an amp is mandatory?

Your answer would help a lot!

    P.S.: Talented musicians! \o

  • @rogervduarte I dunno about soundcards man. Does it have a 1/4 or XLR input? I'm running the mic through a Lexicon Alpha USB Audio Interface. Typically recording into a basic computer soundcard will not sound good in terms of noise, but you never know. You can get a cheap audio interface with a mic pre for under $70. M-audio and Lexicon make excellent ones.
