At the level these players are at, it's not like they're just gonna jump in blind and be overly aggressive against the other player. Leaving an opening like that will then leave them open to a good amount of damage. So, in respect to the other player's ability, they resort to what can be considered the simplest move in fighting game history, The Hadouken.

Look on any original Vanilla SF4 video of Daigo, and you will see his name on the arcade screen exactly as I have it in the description ウメハラ, he only changed it to Hiragana in Arcade Edition, the only reason I replied was because it seemed that you thought Katakana wasn't Japanese, when it is. ;-)

@895xzerokwl It doesn't have any setups except for stun, it's very easy to avoid, and yea, even if you do manage to get the opponent stunned, a jumping HP+standing HP + H Shoru will deal similar or more damage I think.

I think Eita use some "wakeup" ultras and there was this "infiltration" I think, that used the longrange roundhouse -> ultra and caught players on first day in some tournament.. Anyway akuma ultra is rare thing, and its better not to have to rely on the ultra when you are low :)

It is. :P I've seen him do it in a bunch of matches. All those have been SF4 videos, though. I don't know if it also works in SSF4.

Tokido's hadouken does so that Daigo won't be recovering from the ultra anymore, so he has the chance to do a HK Tatsu after that.

Why is this even debated? Daigo isn't infallible, just really god damn good. There is no arguing that. There are a lot of really good players out there, in all likely hood they are on par with Daigos skill, execution and ability to read the opponent. Maybe even better. But as a tournament player there is none beter, proof is in the pudding. Whether it be nerves due to pressure, people watching or being psyched out by your opponent, others crumble where Daigo can keep his head in the gane,

I am a Daigo fan too, but not so much because of his pure skill, but because the guy is a class act. I am sure he has his shit talk moments, a few of which are captured on video, but he lets his skill do the talking. Keeps calm and cool pretty much always and that is impressive to me.

I dont care what the video info says, that is NOT diago playing. Diago's entire game is based off of zoning and forced errors. Its pretty damn easy to tell thats not him. He traps Tokido in the corner and stands within sweep range for mulitple hados, uses spin kick more in 2 rounds than Diago would an entire tournament, and the easiest way to tell thats not Diago?? He jumps in for the loss without forcing any type of decisions before. I've never once seen Diago make such stupid decisions.

Try performing an effective zone game against a competent Akuma player and see how it goes. Tokido and Daigo play frequently and Daigo generally loses. Akuma is the kind of character you have to take risks against because 1. Very little can be very rewarding against him and 2 his rush/mix up is so strong that trying to simply react or force mistakes won't work.
