It's is amazing how Stevie is always so sexy and beautiful and she virtually never exposes any part of her body. Truly glamorous and classy. Not like a lot of the cheap looks that pass for glamour these days
A heavy song for one so young to write, I feel she has always been an old soul, with the words of a poet and the voice of a choir! Thanks for posting this..
i think in her prime during early Mac she had 1 of the greatest voices and even afterwards it may not be as powerful it just sounds beautiful nonetheless
Love the song, and love Stevie, but this recording is technically pretty sad. Heavy on the left speaker, and sounds like a tape that was played about a hundred times-Sorry
You better put you Kingdom up for sale?.........Very poineant......And digging graves with silver spoons.....Most interesting.....Rulers make bad lovers.....Sad but true.....
@mrgarcia500 The pressure of being a rock star. Oh, just take a silver spoon, Stevie, don't worry, it's just recreational! Fucking bastards. If I was there when she first taken that shit I would've killed those motherfuckers in "authorities" who gave her the bloody coke.
Stevie is great I would have liked to hear her and Waylon Jennings sing this together both versions are top notch Waylon liked Stevies song writing style so much he asked her to write a song about him and Jessi so she wrote Leather and Lace for them Waylon covered Rhiannon as well.
@holladayinnn Did you ever hear of hierarchical regression? or the decline of standards? Stevie Nicks created her own standard, being an original artist with her own sound. She was judged by another standard. If you listen to what passes for music now, most of it does not meet the standard of this performance.
The worlds most amazing women I have ever seen who has with stood the tests of time. Where others have come and gone, faded into the black she has remained.
great song. sexyest voice in music. one of the most beautiful women on the planet! even at over 60 years old. when i was in my early teens, i had a MAJOR crush on Stevie Nicks.....i think i just had a relapse.
@klotzstang that's fine. people like what they like. but i haven't. and if you think she's so bad, why are you watching her video on youtube? just curious.
@tedorcorn: Courtney didn't get Stevie's lyrics correct in Hole's cover. Courtney doesn't say "Ancient Queen," of course you heard Stevie say it in this vid. Courtney doesn't get other of this song's lyrics correct either&I could just never understand how&why esp. when Hole's cover was on I think the2nd Crow soundtrack. As much as I love them both, as female artists+original song/badass cover, I can't listen to Hole's without annoyance.
I never pictured her as a bird. Thanks for pointing that out. I may be somewhat biased. I had a girlfriend for a few years that insisted I take her as many Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks concerts as possible. I was amused for the first couple shows. The only reason I put up with it was I got laid a lot. Now when I hear Stevie I just smile and remember. By the way the girl i was seeing became a drug addict and is doing time in for killing her dealer. Not all stories have a happy ending.
@morgenholz - I would never pretend to know every key she has sung in, but if you say you hear only one, well, maybe that's the one where she feels most comfortable. Blanket? It's a big shawl. She likes shawls and fringes and things that move and sway--big flowing things that make her feel like a bird. Sounds like you don't care for her style. Whose style do you approve of, oh, disapproving one ?
@Gallagherfreak100 oh i beg to differ with that opinion!! stevie has rocked the industry for 4 decades now because she is absolutely one of the best!!! she only gets better with age!!! :)
I heard that Lindsay Lohan wants to play Stevie Nicks in a movie. When asked Stevie replied "Over my dead body", So I guess Miss Lohan is out of the running. Personally I think Norah Jones or Mandy Moore would be a better fit to play Stevie.
Best video of Stevie ever in my opinion. HBO special from 1982 I believe. At her most gorgeous. She is my mentor for how to perform for an audience, even though she got the idea from Janis Joplin...
Stevie come to nz,,man she is amazing,is beautiful&that voice wow,,It was the best concert I have ever been too, thanks for posting this clip I dont have this one cheers xxtootsxx
OH soo kool her dad introduced her, my dream was when i was like 5-16 that i would be on Broadway and my Father would be proud of me.i was too afraid of getting my ass kicked fro taking ballet, etc
Holy Cow! That's some erotic technique at about 5:00 and the shudder type stuff at 5:40+ is great! A little bit like Hendrix's moves sometimes. Oh yeah, she was hot. Still a babe when I saw her this year. This tune is so haunting.
This is the voice that haunts the darkened, isolated and hidden paths in my mind. This is the voice and soul that draws emotion, passion and exquisite pleasure out from where I've buried it and forgotten about it long ago. She truly is a beautiful force to be reckoned with.
Amazing because im nearly half your age and on the otherside of the Atlantic, in completely different circumstances, yet feel the exact same way and more about her !
This is a real woman. Love her to bits. Only wish they made more like her..
"That guitar player" is Waddy Wachtel, one of L.A.'s top rock session players for over 20 years and a one-man guitar army.
It's true you can't tell it from this clip, but Waddy is something of a living legend in the business, he's played on albums with everyone from the Stones to Dylan.

I saw her first solo concert in LA. I hooked up 7th row center, just got lucky. WOW. How neat to have her Father introduce her. People were throwing flowers on stage and she picked them up and started crying. When she smiled she was just beautiful and warm. I'm glad I was there.
