SAGAN DIED A WHILE AGO WHEN A LOT OF THIS STUFF WAS STILL JUST DEVELOPING...I'VE STUDIED COSMOLOGY AMONG MANY OTHER THINGS MYSELF. ON HIS JUPITER AND LIFE DISCUSSION I HAVE ONE QUESTION:

JUPITER'S GRAVITY WOULD BE VERY HEAVY, COULD THE LIFE FORMS HE WAS DISCUSSING SURVIVE WITH JUPITER'S GRAVITY. WOULD THOSE FOATERS IMPLODE UNDER THAT GRAVITY....I DON'T KNOW...HE NEVER DISCUSSED THE EFFECTS AND ROLE OF GRAVITY....LIFE AS WE KNOW IT EXISTS UNDER VERY SPECIFIC PARAMETERS.

I wonder what alien civilizations are like. I wonder what they're doing, and how they govern themselves. What they look like, and how they converse with one another. Maybe in some far away solar system there is more than one planet with intelligent life, and maybe they can communicate with one another. Like on some sci-fi movie.

It's just such a humbling concept, to look up at the night sky and wonder if there's some other being, lightyears away from us, who's doing the exact same thing.
