Really? You should go and read FIFA's off-side rule, as you can see not even a single Kuwaiti player is complaining since even they recognised the goal was ligitimate and not off-side. For the record you cannot see where Nikbakht was standing when the free-kick was taken, so your comment has no substance.

I guess he was excited a little lost for words, watching the match live the last thing one expected from that free-kick and the position the striker was in was for him to score with his back to the goal, so give him some credit. You should have heard the Iranian commentator when Iran scored their second goal against Australia in November 97 to qualify for WC98, good to have Oz in AFC now, there will be challenging times ahead for all top seeds in AFC including for Australia.

liamondo3, in early March Iran invited Scotland to a challenge match to be played on May 28th, but the following week SFA announced that Celtic and Rangers players are not avaialable in late May, Scotland had an invite from England also but they turned both Iran and England down, Scotland will now play Northern Ireland instead on May 28th, I hope Iran and Scotland will play a friendly before WC2010 finals, would be good experience for both sides,I am Iranian but have lived in Scotland for 29 yrs

Thanks to Miroslav Blazevic who took nikbakht from the defence line and put him where he really fits. There is a big difference between a MASTER like CIRO and an a**hole named daei when it comes to coaching.

Blazevic and Ivankovic moved Iran football to a higher level, they had enemies in the corrupt football system in Iran, the Mafia in Iran football did as much harm as they could to Branko in particular as they saw him as a threat to themselves. Now in such corrupt system you have to ask what options you have for a coach, what happened to Clemente? and other foreign coaches mentioned? Daei is not the best, but in Iran he is a good candidate to deal with the system and hopefully save Team Melli

Yes that was me, I have been analysing and writing editorials on Iran football for a number of years, I was approached by the BBC Radio Scotland last month and asked to appear on their world football programme. I am doing what I can to inform the fans here about our football. I hope Daei can save Team Melli, a lot of damage has been done since WC2006, I hope Daei is the turning point for us.

Dear alistudio, I favoured a foreign coach as stated in my persianmirror articles, when Clemente deal went out the window I favoured Afshin Ghotbi, Daei was not my choice, however, in Iran things are done differently, considering the incompetence and corruption in Iran some one like Ghotbi would be pushed out, but Daei has influence and experience and that makes him a good candidate, not my first choice but right now he is the best we have and he is far better than Mullah GN, not many options

Hi some1inuk, I am a Persepolis fan, Nikbakht has done well for the reds this season playing in various positions (defence, winger and forward). Brilliant goal with his first touch of the game, but there is room for improvement for Iran, giving away a 2 goal lead showed Iran have problems for Daei to address, the match was good experience for Daei also, he too needs to look at where he went wrong tactically in the second half.

Dear amirabdoll, this was the best goal of the match and that's why I uploaded it, Iran's second and Kuwait's first goal were due to defensive blunders and hardly worth a mention, Kuwait's second was due to poor marking by Iran but this goal was unstoppable, sorry I didn't keep the match so I don't have the other goals, but trust me you are seeing the best one here.

Dear laziofarid, classic goal indeed, Iran have had little preparation, they were missing several players like Nekunam and Aghili not mentioning Mahdavikia and Hashemian, Iran's performance was not good enough, they need to improve so the draw was fair.
