  • Interesting...I noticed on his earlier videos with Homer, Jethro didn't use a strap...here he is. I think it was part of his shtick...to twirl the mando, etc.

  • Jethro is one of the true giants of mandolin...just incredible.

  • When Jethro and Steve really gett wound up you can actually hear the audiance gasp.

  • of all the versions of this song on the 'tube', this is my favorite!

  • Thanks for posting this! I just love watching Steve's face while he performs. Hh was a true master who is greatly missed.

  • Steve Goodman simply adored Jethro. He was the first to admit he was nowhere near the guitarist Homer was, but his reverence for H&J's legacy was very genuine. Steve brought Jethro out of retirement and into the spotlight, just before both of their untimely deaths, and hats of to him for that.

  • Steve Goodman is the only person I ever heard who came CLOSE to matching Homer on guitar.

  • @pholkiephred That isn't Homer in the video with Goodman, it's Jethro. Homer was Jethro's original partner. He died in 1971, and he most definitely did play guitar.

  • @KarenHlly My bad. Misread your post.
