  • This guy sings very well and is damn good replacement for Steve. Journey could have taken the easy route and called it quits, but they chose to stick around and hire a new singer - you should appreciate the fact the band found a great replacement and continue to play timeless hits to their fans

  • Wow this sounds like a monkey sucking on a banana singing karaoke!!

  • seeing this guy singing steve's songs is like watching american idol

  • Could be worse...could have been that "NoSteve=Nopoint" guy.

  • @TypOPositiv LOL

  • Have any of you what Steve Perry thinks about the band and touring?

  • Look, I'd pay $100.00 just to see Neil stand on a stage happy. Get a good copy of Faithfully, it will tell you how sick Steve was to not be with his love. I'm thrilled for every person in Journey. Sorry man, I'm just happy for them and can't understand why no one else is...?

  • @bassguitartazz No Steve= No Journey

  • While it is true that it isn't truly Journey without Perry, there will still be blind haters, regardless of the evident talent of whoever is fronting them. Whatever people may say, Jeff Scott Soto is still one of the best singers out there. He sang on Yngwie Malmsteen's first two albums and currently sings with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. If he's with TSO, I guess he must have some talent, because they don't take second-rate hacks...

  • @6whitewolf2112 TSO is hacks, has-beens and mostly never wuz

  • he sings well but still the diction is not as good as steve who can sing live with clear voice.......miss you steve.

  • B>T>W> the only way that one singer could replace another singer without change in voice, range, or stamina,.... would be by TWINS !!!!

    seriously sincerly!!!

  • Nobody is comparable to anyone when you get rite down to it. the voice is a muscle that can be used differently, depending on the INDIVIDUAL, and the throte from birth has its own distictive frequency that changes thru ONES life cycle. Every now and then you will find a close resemblance, but hardly ever the same or what most people look for , wich is a replacement of an originalsinger, which most of the time leads to disapointing REPLACEMENT, UNFORTUNATELY

    Sincerly

  • boo to this guy..steve was amazing!

  • If this is only person they have to sing then they shouldnt sing at all. Long live steave perry. Come back.

  • this guy is good, but he just can't hit those high notes like steve perry

  • Does Steve Perry have a frog in his throat? Oops, hey that aint Steve. Why the .... am I watching this? Would there be a Rolling Stones without Mick? Iron Maiden without Bruce? Judas Priest without Rob(yes hes a great singer). Ok you get my point... Journey isnt the same without Steve. Nuff said.

  • this guy will never be steve!!!!!!

  • this guy is good, but he isnt as good as pineda, augeri, or perry

  • Neal Schon is badass!!!

  • This is what happens when you get a Metal singer to front Journey. Jeff Scott Soto is a badass singer, but this sounds like Iced Earth's singer Matt Barlow fronting Journey. He should go back to fronting Malmsteen.

  • @CavemanJesus4Life

jeff is a god!! he sings everything!

  • Like I want to hear the "I'm a Viking" sing Journey... come on.........NEAL.

  • wow...a 3 minute 1978 Journey dity became the defacto vocal test between boys to men contenders to prenders...

  • yes i agree steve perry has the one and only voice for this type of singing

  • and, if I may add....James LaBrie of Dream Theater, too :0)

  • i no steve perry has the only vocie for this song but u have to say he did good

  • Sounds like Loverboy, without Steve Perry.

  • Isn't that the guy from GEICO? Lol .. : )

  • i suppose you look like steve perry huh?

  • I think this is Steve Augeri singing.. he didn't capture Steve Perry's magic.. I think Arnel Pineda is better and is the closest to Steve Perry's voice..

  • oh sorry.. my mistake.. this isn't Steve Augeri.. this is Jeff Scott Soto i think singing.. but Arnel Pineda is still better and so far the best after Steve Perry..

  • NO! Steve Perry is the ONLY VOICE for this song!

  • steve is the best singer journey ever had copy and paste if you think steve is the spirt of journey and he will always be!!!

  • zarda999...how can you be better?? show us what you got??

  • steve perry was really good but you gotta accept this new guy... he isnt that bad

  • Steve Perry is for journey the same like David Lee Roth and Van Halen

  • thats dumb, hagar kicked ass

  • No one is better than God. Perry is Perry. Arnel is Arnel. No comparison need here. So everybody should enjoy the music of Journey than to comment negative. A must be positive. Journey rock!

  • I am better . . .

  • This isn't Arnel, dork.

  • man fuckin steve perry should be there

  • i agree he does not have a journey voice u know what im poopin out

  • this is the guy before arnel pineda right?

the other steve guy (not perry)

  • Who is this????? Jeff Scott Soto sucks. SP 4ever!

  • @mekomanius

    jeff is a god!!

  • he's good but he sucks compared to steve perry

    steve perry is 100000000000000000000000000x better

  • I think Jeff Scott Soto is more of a hard rock singer and that's not rly journey

  • he'll never replace steve perry

steve perrys voice is 100x better

  • Perry didn't needd to pump them up dude.

  • Get Steve Perry in again. This would be bigger than any reunion recently. Who wouldn't buy a ticket?

  • Dude I totally agree with you. I'm younger then the song but I heard it with perry. I would find a way to get 2 tickets if they reunited with Steve Perry. 1 for my mom who got me to like them and1 for me.

  • doesn't every singer?

  • This singer relies on the audience to much

  • It's true that most singers do this and it's a shame really. But you have to understand that this band had it's prime in the 80's and if you look at the live vids from that time he didn't rely on the audience, but I guess age will do this to everyone.

  • Jeff Scott Soto is really a great singer, but he's the wrong singer for Journey. Steve Perry is the greatest and the new singer Arnel Pineda comes close to Steve Perry.

  • If Steve Perry doesn't want in....Fuck him.

  • Steve Perry didn't need to tell the people to sing it, they just would, he was so good in communicating with the audience. This guy, its like hes beating them in to singing with him. Plus his vocals are off, give steve perry todays technology and he'll blow your minds....even more!!

  • hes just pumping them up man. theyd still be singing their lungs out without him coaxing them on.

  • that's true, they're nuts already

  • This guy is good, dont get me wrong. But Journey just isnt Journey without Steve Perry

  • I TOTALLY agree

  • Same...

  • i miss steve perry

  • your not alone...everyone does

  • yeah that guy really nows how to sing

  • look in the brite side perry is happy and he is making more money

  • not the same without steve =*(

  • Fellas! Time has come, The rejuvenated JOURNEY with AP the new lead vocal. FANS out there REJOICE! THIS GUY IS GREAT!

  • i know really

  • Blah, Journey isn't the same without Steve Perry.

  • where's steve perry?

  • Hes been gone since '97-'98.

  • This is bull shi*!!!!!!

  • he suckssssssssssss

  • i think that i speak for everyone when i say that sccot stinks in journey,he screams when he sings, like verisheri said he owes steve an apology

  • no

you don't speak for everyone at all

    JSS fuckin' rocks

  • You're right, he isn't even near Steve in vocal comparsion. But it aint shit either. His live performance is awesome!

Steve is also awesome live so hell

  • I agree, Soto stinks in Journey. Doesn't have the right vocal range or image for them; That's why Journey ousted him.... Soto is a good singer and was great with Yngwie Malmsteen.

  • i really liked soto... maybe not right for journey but i think he done a really good job live of course hes gonna be nowhere near as good as perry but i still thinkhe was really good

  • i think that anyone who can sing a Perry song is good. but in my view, Perry was (and is) the only man for Journey.

  • yeah your right. nobody can sing journey songs like perry. but he´s good though

  • nah guess Scott Soto isn't meant for Journey.. But I love his song in Talisman. I'm guessing the lower vocals would sound better from Soto but the higher ones aren't anywhere close to Perry. :)

  • When you listen to this, you understand why Journey replaced Soto. This is one of the easier Journey songs to sing and Soto screams his way through it. On the few high notes in the song, he sounds awful. He's a great singer of his own music and puts on a very energetic show. But he wasn't right for Journey.

  • if peiople would get over tjihis "hes not Perry" crap....then maybe they would have enjoyed it... Soto aint bad

  • He's not bad, he just can never sing the sing as good as Perry.

  • sucks i agree with everybody

  • Simply awful. He owes Steve Perry an apology.

  • Best band to ever grace the stage.

  • Oh man, looking at Houston DVD 1981 the level of performance and stage presence has deffinately diminished. Comes with age, this guy is good but we still want the Voice Perry back.

  • No Perry is the same as saying The Journey is over... =(

This is Perry's song no matter what people say.

  • Saw the exact same shown in Sheffield this year and as a life long fan of 25 years i thought they were shite. This singer is not even near Perry.

  • if ur goin to impersonate a band u have to be as good as them!!!!, this band sucks!

  • Jeff did this song justice and evidently the crowd thought so too! Neal and all the other guys are kicking a substantial amount of ass and its because of dickheads like half of the people who posted on this video who cant get past their pathetic nostalgia and accept a singer whos unique instead of another shameless perry wannabe that this got ruined for those of us who wanted to see it

  • No way dude and where did steve go?

  • He's been gone for ages brother. He left because it wasn't what he wanted. He never really 'connected' with the band.

  • wow he wasn't part of the band? O he only fired the rhythm section for his own Monitary gain, ego much?

  • I'm with ya Rainbow ... Look on the bright side. Journey is once again singerless. Maybe this time they'll reconsider Mr. Perry with all his differences and become the best band in the world again ... ??

  • Without Steve, what's the point? It's like Genesis without Phil Collins... ? No thanks.....

  • definitely a last minute replacement for steve augeri.

  • best band in history

  • Steve Perry is, was, and always will be Journey. They are not even close to the same band without him.

  • LOL! AMEN brother!

  • it seem's as though they spead this up to get the torture over quicker ! this is pathetic ! but the real truth here is that schoon & co. brought this guy in who is so totally different from the steve twins is to distance themselfs from those 2 guy's !

  • this not journey, change the name it is a joke,i love journey and this not them

  • anyone that says this guy compares to steve needs their hearing checked, honestly.

  • again, hes not excactly journeys style, but hes still a great singer, not excatly what perry was, but, lets face it, who is, sotos a great singer though

  • who cares who sings now it dont matter journey lives on no matter what.

  • ahmen man

  • Never thought I'd compare The Dead Kennedys with Journey, but one thing they DO have in common; it's just not them w/out their singers.

  • sure they dont have the greatest singer anymore, but neil schone ripped that solo even harder, the most underrated guitarest, best ever

  • hahahaha....we're arguing steve perry/augeri, now its this nitwit. Who the fuck is next? The revolving door of Journey singers continue!

  • JSS looks like one of the cavemen in the Geico commercials! LoL....I wouldn't go to a Journey concert even if I was giving free tickets, front row center, and back stage passes!!! Give me Steve Perry...!!!!!

  • J.S.S. might be good singing Bad Company or Foreigner, but NOT Journey. Deen Castronovo is the right singer for Journey. Put Deen in front, get Steve "machine gun" Smith back, and record a new CD. I'll buy it if Deen sings it. Come to Charlottesville, VA please.

  • I very much like J.S.S.'s voice, but it doesn't really fit with Journey's style... maybe they should of went with the great John West, like they were going to... cuz at least we know he could've easily nailed those high notes that Perry used to hit!

  • So, if one doesn't agree with the band's latest decision, his comment will be erased... Cool.

  • I have removed no comments from this clip. Don't know what you're talking about.

  • Sorry. They showed up and then vanished for a while. My bad.

  • I meant, NO. This is NOT Journey. Sorry. Those songs don't fit Scott-Soto that well. The guy has a monster voice, yes. But he's no Steve Perry/Augeri. It just DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT. Love him on Soul SirkUS, tho. Peace.

  • NO.

  • yes this was Steve Augeri's song

  • ? steve perry ?

  • Sorry but this song begs for Steve Augeri's voice.

  • It's Steve Perry. Journey is just not the same without him.

  • cool.
