Of all his cats, I think Napoleon is closest to his heart. It's his secret favourite. Not Tau, notThor, not Gandolf, not Kaiser. In his DVD, Kevin mentioned he pledged to see some of his favourite cats to their natural ends inspite of his financial troubles. I am sure he meant Napoleon among a few others.

I agree that while this man has an amazing connection with these cats. They are by and large ‘wild cats’ and it would only take one misplaced swipe of a diner plate sized paw, to his head to cause potentially serious damage.

Lions’re wild for a reason. Same with cheetahs, and leopards, cervals etc…

these animals are NEVER EVER tame and too often end up destroyed because of STUPID PEOPLE

they absolutely CAN kill or severely ham without intent, no matter how familiar they are with someone, not to mention doing something intentionally

once they do EVEN ONE thing harmful, intentional or otherwise, they are destroyed, even in the wild

The issue is, how well do these lions understand their strength in comparison to his? Maybe their somewhat tame - but they might bite him or scratch him in a way that's not very strong to them, but lethal to him.

If you look closely, you will see that the lions have retracted their claws, just like house cats do when they play. Nevertheless, with such powerful animals, a playful swat could break your neck. These lions are remarkably gentle, but his guy has more guts than I would have in the same situation.

Here, kitty kitty. But yes, there is a risk doing things like this with lions and hyenas. He even admits that, but I guess he'd rather take the risk anyway. When you think of it, humans bond more closely socially with carnivores (dogs, cats, ferrets, and such) than they do with cows, sheep, goats, etc... I wish him a long healthy life.
