  • i have one like this , and he hates camera too... is terrible to cath him singing

  • aww soo cute! :3 mine just sat for the 1th time on my arm (few minutes ago) haha love cockatiels !!

  • 33 people have some serious brain deactivity

  • cute, sounds like star wars. yup it is! mine will talk into the camera and get a lil too close. mine knows happy b-day, not star wars. i can tell you that my tiels r going nuts right now over this vid. i have some on my channel if u wanna c!

  • Camera shy.

  • My bird never talks in front of the camera lol..only sometimes when he is too excited to notice (check out my youtube). Its a parakeet/budgie but he does talk and loves people and cats.

  • My bird is the other way around, he loves to talk to the camera and run around while I´m filming :P

  • "you bum!" lol

  • omg i hate you! i try to pet my bird and he bittes the piss out of me,,, he always attacks me, like he will be in his cage and i walk by it and he chases me bitting at the cage lol,,

  • @yfz450911 then you probably give your pet not the right treatment.

    1. never hold one bird alone

    2. give him always fresh water and food

    3. give him some little branches to plaqy with

    4. don't touch him! a young bird is afraid of being touched! just try to attrac him with some red millet. you have to try very slowly ... only this way he can get used to being touched.

maybe the first owner doesn't treated him very good...so be kind....he might think, that he is in danger...

  • @Kuchenvieh allright thank you for the tips, can i get millet at a walmart?

  • @yfz450911 don't know ... i live in germany, but I think its better to buy red millet from a special pet store

  • @yfz450911 my mom has one named harriet. that bird will straight try and murder me when i touch her lol.

  • @gogogetter You must have been a cat in a previous life ;-)

  • @crapatev i may have been lol

  • Why don't any cockatiels look like mine? :\

  • Comment removed

  • u live in a trailer ?

  • yeh it's not ideal to put birds infront of mirrors if they are without play mates or other bird partners. Cute singing though

  • i heard males are better because females lay fake eggs and get hell aggressive when you go near em

  • @mrthefisk for my birds it was the reversed the girl was nice and the boy was mean as fuck XD

  • @mrthefisk true true but its hilarious

  • @mrthefisk my female tiel is nothing like that, she is a dream <33

  • im now have my 2nd cockatiel, the 1st one was disabled so it relied on me and my family to help it around the house but it could fly yet was scared off the outside but one day during the summer my sister's window was open on the 2nd floor, my bird paniced when it was alone down stairs and flew after my dad but it didn't land on my dad's shoulder it just flew on and went outside through my sister's open window :'(. We never saw it again but this new cockateil is so nice!

  • If you look underside of tail feathers you can tell. Stripes (even in light shades of yellow) mean it is female. Solid tail feathers means it is a male. Must look at underside of the feathers.

  • i absolutely love cockatiles!! i used to have one but he died :( but he was the sweetest bird and was hand raised so he really loved being held and pet :) they are such sweet pets and so much fun

  • i just bougt a cockatiel, she (think its a she is gorgeous) how do i get her to let me scratch her behind her head like that ? lol

  • Lololol. I bought a cockatiel the other day :) take a look at my video. He is a cutie :)

  • your bird looks so like mind and he use to be the same around cameras he use to talk and sing his little head off but as soon as the camera came out he would shut up, can't get over how much Cocoa looks like Angel, I lost my boy Angel at easter time as he was trying to come out to the line with me...........

  • LOL the woman whistled the song from nobrain.dk (My lazy sundays)

  • hahahahaha my bird was singing back to your bird and trying to find where the singing was coming from!!!! LOL XD

  • MY FLEW OUT THE BACK DOOR AND I CAUGHT HER

  • my cockatiel flew out the door and got chased by a hawk but i found him hiding in a tree and i got him back in his cage !

  • aaaaa thats so cute : *

  • he is a very good talker :) many cockatiels on youtube are bad talkers and i hardly understand them, but when i heard your parrot talking i thought it was you. great job

  • how do u get them so they dont fly away all the time mine is only like a few months and soon as i get close he gets scared and flys off got any tips

  • O-M-G hes so fucking cute!

  • Omg, my birdd oes the same thing! He sings and sings and sings, but whenever I bring a camera around he shuts up. He loves Andy Griffiths too

  • it sounds like hes whistling the words

  • Our cockatiel died in october :( R.I.P. Coco):

  • @numberonefergiefan Well sorry about that. I hate it when my pets die. I'll have to wait a while to get a bird for a pet

  • @despence1 thank youu so muchh(: we all miss him):

  • @numberonefergiefan no prob

  • Too cute! My CAG is also camera shy so we have to hide to get him to talk, also!

  • I have a cockatiel named Cocoa too :)

I've had him since he was a baby, and his tamed, and doesn't fly away at all.

Well he did once, but he flew back home.

    His so cute!

  • One of the saddest days of my life was when my Lutino tiel died of old age. She was such a loving bird and full of personality. I still miss her dearly.

  • @Turdbuckethat i had 3 babys die on me so i know how how you feel

  • @Turdbuckethat I think my old lovley bird is about to die by age too. :/ she is also a loving bird with full personality. we use to eat breakfast together. I guess you know how i will feel.

  • my parakeet talks to me

he says pretty baby, whatcha doin and he sings and whistles to me. :) now i have 7 birds. :D

  • Cocoa is a happy lil guy! :)

  • i think its the theme from the andy griffith show if am not mistaken

  • beuatiful cockatiel

  • aww. Mine used to say "pretty bird' and "that's a good boy".

  • haha yep my cockatiel loves his orange circle tickled

  • my bird lets u tickle her on her neck!!!!!! :)

  • SO CUTE

  • Hey! My Cockatiel wont sing when your watching him ether.......i thought he was just scared, I guess its normal.

  • My bird won't sit on my finger. When I ask him to come onto my finger, he comes on and then immediately "flys" to my shoulder. His wings are supposedly clipped (someone else did them). If he can fly around a little bit (only very short distances, like say a foot), does that mean that his wings are not clipped short enough? I noticed that "Cokie" sits nicely on your finger and also waits patiently to be placed back on his perch. Any ideas?

  • How did you train him to enjoy being petted on the back of the neck like that? Mine loves to snuggle up to my face/neck/ear, but he'll go into his 'raptor stance' if I try to pet him.

  • @basspig It's just something that some birds like and some don't.

  • @TheAnticipation16 I'm wondering if this is also age-related. My 'tiel is 5 months old, going on six and due to things I've read about juvenile bird behavior, some say it might be a phase that all birds go through and grow out of. My wife thinks I spoil my bird too much, letting him walk all over me all the time (literaly). Perhaps I've failed to train him properly?

  • @basspig Haha, you definately shouldn't let any bird walk all over you. It gives them a sense that they're in charge. You shouldn't even let them on your shoulder until a few months after having your bird.

But it might also be the age thing that you're talking about. When I first got my cockateil, he didn't even like me stroking his back until a year after I got him. Or just simply that he doesn't like it. Who knows?

  • @TheAnticipation16 I do give him (her?) pretty much full run of the place. "Clyde" (my daughter named him) spends hours on my shoulder. I take him to his cage several times daily to make sure he gets to eat and drink, but he doesn't like to go back and he's quick to come back to 'daddy' after a quick meal. I'm trying to type here while he's 'attacking' the keyboard.. anyway, I'm concerned that I may not be training him properly, but if as you say, it takes a year, then maybe that's all it is.

  • I wonder if he is uncertain about your camera O_O

he stops singing when he sees you around the corner and when you pick him up, he loves on you but stops singing O_O Uwaaa. A shy bird thats so cute. lol

  • My cockatiel is watching this with me and loving it. His "default" song is Andy Griffith, too!

  • I have and me a parrot cockatiel her name is mitchie!!!when she see me with my cam in my hand is stopping to sing!!but this cockatiel is 2nd cuz my 1st is dead :'(:'( it was the best!!!

  • Aww...Cocoa is so sweet and tame. did you get him really young?

  • I love how they go all silence and stare at you like you were a total idiot when you interrupt them

  • heh u can call it cocoatiel

  • cute

  • 1:29 "You bum"... I wonder where this girl is from.. maybe Canada.. Ive had my GF call my the a couple times.. one time i had to sleep on a park bench in the middle of winter in Washington... Once again at 2:25 she says bum.. Could she be from Boston? Maybe? At this point im affraid of a female voice saying that "word".

  • Pretty pretty pretty birdie... Hes all.. fuck this shit, bitch, when am i gonna get my daily millet?

  • ha! my barney gets shy when he does his old songs. he is almost 26 or so, and sponaniously breaks into his old songs that he used to sing for endless hours to impress his mate, Betty. He'll do them for short bursts, but if he catches me watching him from the other room he stops lol. sometimes when i sweet talk him, he'll sing his "squeaky wheel" or his " chicken song" at a couple points n your video, your cokie made a portion of the squeaky wheel song :) so sweet!

  • Wow! Till today I knew that cockatiels can't talk... only whistle!

    I am surprised!

  • lol this is so funny my bird carries around and napkin and eats everything!!!!! lol\

  • mine would have to whistle dixie forrr sureee lol

  • HAHAHA he was singing the star wars theme song!!!!!!! HAHAHA

  • @fanterminator XD i just realized that!!!!

  • lmao @ Spidy05

Yeah If I was a Bird that could talk. I would fly away become Famous. Then Fly back home ;-)

  • haha one of my previous cockatiels whistled the andy griffith song like that

  • the birds like"

    NOPE IAM NOT RATTING"

  • mine also can sings...something...if he wants... xD

  • lol he dosent fly away ?

  • WIXXER!

  • I can't pet my bird or he'll bite he's not as time as YER Cocoa bird.

  • Just give him some time and just sweet talk to him while in the cage. Be patient and don't force him on anything. I also have a very wild Lutino Cockatiel named Angel. He has a nasty habit of biting but I'm working to gain his trust right now. (But I think Angel might be a female because he doesn't sing much unless I'm away from the cage or I'm playing videos of other cockatiels singing).

  • I have a bird named Cocoa too! And he's the same exact kind of bird! :D he says prettybird crazybird and cocoacrazybird and he kisses at me and my family if u make kissy noises at him and u can even kiss him on the head or beak its SO cute! I luv my bird chochoa! :D

  • My grandmother had a chatty bird that whistled the Andy Grifith tune like this one. His name was Willy and he even looked like this cockateil. He was so smart, he could say just about anything. He even did the sexy whistle.

    Wow, I miss him...

  • Ooohh! How old was he there? He's so cute. :3

    -Tie<3

  • i just moved away to college and had to leave my bird caki at home...

this makes me miss him al lott :(

  • They wouldn't let you take him? My dorm allows fish and birds as pets but that's it.

  • no :( we can have a fish. i went home this past weekend for like 2 days. and as soon as i walked into my room where he was he started chirping and got all excoted and was dancing around....i cried soo much :( i miss him haha.

  • Seriously? Well that makes no sense at all. Do they not have enough room or are they just scared you're going to bring something like a full sized Parrot? Aww your bird sounds so cute, I'm still training Angel but I'm getting there. :)

  • Mine had such an attack many years ago and did just that and bled quite alot.

ended up washing wing in cold water to help slow the flow down and apply slight pressure untill it stopped but took what seemed forever. hes now 8 and still pecking me! Just thought id share my experience which may help others? A vet at 2 in the mornings not easy to get hold of LOL

  • lol pretty pretty pretty birdy

    haha thats cute

  • Hey, a question, how long did it take for him to start imitating you? And how old was him?

I have two cockatiels. They're still young, but just so I know what to expect. :P

  • Oh, and another question, sorry, how old was he when you got him? I got mine when they both were 7 month old. Many people tell me I got them too old for them to get attached to me. (Anyways one of them eats from my hand, the other one doesn't even get close xD)

  • I actually taught mine to do that kind of whistle that's like, "Man you're sexy". (How do you type it again?) I tried to teach him to do it on command for when my gf or other female friend came over; didn't work.

  • my bird loves listening to this

  • thats sooo cool

  • lol pretty pretty birdy.. LOL your teachig my bird who is listning. He is interacting with cocoa from my chair!!

  • ooohh so cuuuuuuute

  • you have a nice cockatiel. its so cool. mine can't talk though. lol. i wish mine was like yours.

  • Mine TAUGHT me to speak bird.

  • LOL exactly.

  • haha pretty pretty pretty birdy. Lmao.

  • Ummm i have a pet cockatiel and it flew out my window one day and when it tried to come back it hurt its wing REALLY bad. I spent like all hours of the day with it for like months cuz it was soo pathetic D: anyways... now whenever i leave the room it calls for me like uuh ( TOOOOH!) and it wont stop until it can see me again O_o WHY IS THIS??

  • it has grown realy attached to you my birds do the same thing

  • get them young so that you can hand feed.

then your pet will be never afraid of you, when you feed it your bonding

  • are cockatiels good pets? i'm trying to find a bird that is social and doesn't bite all the time or run away when you come near the cage. also do they sing throughout the night too?

  • all birds bite and youl have too spend some time with it so it doesnt run away from you

  • ok thanks. I've always had pets, but some I find are nicer then others. My pet rats are so affectionate. I've had ferrets that were just evil biting demons. I guess it depends on the animals disposition

  • Cockatiels are really good bird pets. They are very affectionate, and are adorable. I would recomend getting a young one, so it will grow up knowing you are a friend, and won't run away from you. :D

  • cockatiels are good pets but they bite to so you might want to tame it first.

  • If you go to a breeder and get a young one hand raised, than they can be great pets. Males tend to sing more than Females but there shouldn't be a problem with them singing during the night because they needs lots of sleep. However many cockatiels do suffer from night-terrors and will break what's called a blood feather. This situation is very dangerous so to prevent this from happening it is recommended to have a night light for them.

  • @KiraJadeRose shit that explains why ours always has jaggered feathers on it some left lying aroudn have blood on it:S

  • @KiraJadeRose Ha, my brother caught ours in LA about or over 9 years ago. He's an asshole but, he loves us. Just as long as we don't touch him.

  • @KiraJadeRose my cokatiel died from night terror i presume D: i tohugh he couldnt sleep with lights on

  • @KiraJadeRose * ANY cockatiel can turn into a great pet with proper training. Even if its a rescue and was abused and/or neglected.

  • @KiraJadeRose. and if you get them 5 years old, could you like tame them anywheys makeing them go up in you're hand? or is it to hard when they are big?

  • He's just too adorable, also very smart

  • melina is that u..?

  • mine does this as well. bits of the Andy Griffith Theme too. it heard this and just want crazy singing

  • pretty pretty

  • That's what you call "camera shy!" what a cutie!

  • ummmm, my cockatiel is listening to this lol. He is sooooo quiet right now, I can only imagine what he is thinking lol. Hes young but can do lots of whistles and whatnot. He is not even a year yet! gotta love them right?

  • haha :0

  • oh, i want a Cockatiel too , so cute

  • cool mynes can only say :que paso?: XD
