  • Hi this is Fridy from Italy, thanx for reviewing the plot, I was getting curious to know more about this classic english beloved Doctor Who...unknown in my country! ;-)) Ciao xxx

PS_nice cat & fantasy classic poster too...I've got a beautiful one too of LOTR,with the little boat of Frodo & co. sailing towards their fate, ending 1st movie...epic! Bye-bye

  • Are you disappointed that the Doctor didn't let Christina travel with him? Or did you see it coming like I did? Oh! Another thing.. When she called him Space Man did you think of Donna? I'm so happy she's coming back!

  • Christina would be a fun companion, but I was not dissapointed to see her go.

About the Donna thing, and that Christina called him "Space Man", I thought that it was wonderful. I love when they use random little things to tie episodes together :)

  • I didn't find the episode 'filler' at all, because it was really about the doctor and how changed he is. His distancing himself from people (esp a companion) which will lead up to the last of the Tennant episodes. That was the important part of this ep, imo.

I did love it was on another planet- in full agreement we get way too much earth stuff.

I knew he flew a stolen tardis all these years, and I loved they mentioned that.:)

  • I've been trying to find out more about the Doctor but It's a long process. I've been a fan for less than a year, so there is a lot of catching up to do! Thank goodness for the internet! :)

  • I watched the show in the 70s, with Tom Baker (the ones broadcast in the US). But I just started watching the New Who a few months ago. I have Netflix, and seasons 1-3 are available for instant viewing online, plus lots of the old shows are available for instant online viewing. I forgot a lot so I'm watching the old ones again. I really liked the first doctor in "The Aztecs." Funny how even tho' each doctor is different, he's still the same, even through so many actors.

  • I'm getting netflix this summer and my goal is to watch all of the classic episodes that are availible. Looks like I'm going to have a busy summer!

  • Just watched Genesis of the Daleks via netflix... I highly recommend it for one of your first old Who viewings. And for the first doctor, definitely "the aztecs"

  • Sounds good! I decied to just pick a doctor and try to watch things in order. I'm starting w/ Peter Davison (even thought i have already watch 3 or 4 Tom Baker episodes) and I'm going to start at Logopolis (that's techniquely his first episode. lol) and move on from there. I did skip ahead and watch the visitation and earthshock becuase I could watch them istantly.

  • I've never seen PD's first full episode, where I understand the doctor post regeneration went thru being more one incarnation than another... so he'd swing between previous personalities. That's next on my netflix list... are you going to review the classics as you watch them? I really enjoy your reviews.

  • I think that I might. That's a good idea!

  • Me and my friends were watching it and thinking the same thing about the magic school bus thing. But, yeah couldn't agree more with it being a filler I got the same vibe for the next special.

    -And your welcome ^_^

  • I pretty much agree with you about the entire episode. The only thing that I disagree with is that I liked Malcom and you didn't. Great response to the episode!

  • Great review.

I liked Malcolm though. Sure, the character is grating, but I think he was supposed to be. Lee Evans did a great job portraying that.

It seems to me that they've been doing a lot to display the different ways people react to and interact with the Doctor over the last few seasons.

I think they also needed to have him to keep the episode more lighthearted. The UNIT stuff gets kind of boring, in my humble opinion. It was nice to break that up.

  • Yeah, I'm not a huge UNIT fan myself. I agree that the character was useful in that way but I was just annoyed by him. I kind of reminded me of those high school movies where this is always the 'nerd' kid.

But hey, out of the entire episode I only disliked one thing, that's not too bad! It was a fun episode :)

  • Why are there no comments??? Very strange, it makes me kinda nervous...
