@punchingpower Hi. Thank you for watching. To make popcorn balls (w/o caramel), I usually heat white sugar, light corn syrup, butter and a little water. (I sometimes add a little vanilla or molasses to the mixture as well.) I've never made popcorn balls with the puffcorn though.. I've always used regular, popped popcorn.
@punchingpower Hi. This is an excellent question! A wet caramel is usually made by melting sugar and water and cooking it and a dry caramel by cooking sugar by itself.
Traditionally, a popcorn ball has a somewhat creamy caramel coating to help it stick together. What I typically consider a caramel popcorn recipe has something like light brown sugar in it or even melted caramel candies, whereas my regular popcorn balls do not have the brown sugar, etc.
@punchingpower You could probably make cheese popcorn balls by melting cheddar and velveeta or something, but it's hard to make a solid airlight ball with those ingredients...
@Fikisko Hi! Thanks for watching. I've never doubled the caramel sauce before, but I've always wanted to so that there would be more caramel on the popcorn. It should work fine making extra caramel sauce. Oleo is an older term for margarine (this recipe has been passed down through several generations, lol). You can use either margarine or butter in this recipe. I hope you can give this recipe a try. Take care.. hugs!
@usafireandrescue I sure will I just have to find a paper bag, because we don't have any,we only got plastic because here people don't care about nature!!
@SweetCherriez06 Hi! Thank you so much! I hope you can try this recipe. I think it's better than store-bought carmel popcorn. Using 'puffcorn' really makes all the difference. Have a beautiful week. Hugs...
@LittleMissAdventia LOL, clowns are always trouble... and scary, ha ha. Hope you are doing great. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Have a beautiful day. Hugs...
@Aussiegirl265 Hi Aussiegirl265! Thanks so much for watching and writing in. We have the same microwave dish? Very cool. My Mom has had that dish for ages it seems. We've done a lot of cooking with it and it's still in one piece, ha ha! Have a beautiful day! Hugs to you and your mum!
@usafireandrescue You are very welcome and THANK to you for your time and efforts to make such good helpful videos making us enjoy them, we should be grateful to you and all people who help others through youtube videos, may God bless you and protects you, stay sweet and beautiful as always, great day. bisous
LOL, hi aaronABNORMAL! Thank you so much for commenting! I can't believe that clown took my popcorn, ha ha ha. I'll be ready for him next time ;-) Thank you again for watching! Hope you have a beautiful day! Hugs to you and yours.
Ha ha ha! Hi BellaChely83! How are you? Thank you for watching. It's a silly little video, but it was fun to do. We are gearing up for this year's Halloween show. :-) Hope all is well with you! Big hugs coming your way! :-)
Hi wannadance100! Thank you for watching and posting! I sent you a message but thought I should also post on here just in case others have the same question :-) I've tried just pouring warm/cooked syrup over the popcorn as a shortcut, but it didn't work. You do need to cook and shake three times with this recipe as it cooks the caramel into the popcorn. Hugs to you and thank you for sending in this great question!
nice vid, but if someone gave me homemade caramel puffcorn, i would be forced to throw it in the trash =/. cant trust anyone nowadays. but still, great vid.
Hi SouthSideChics08! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I know exactly what you mean. It's a shame that it's like that these days where you can't trust others. Better safe than sorry! This is a great recipe to make for your friends and family that like caramel puffcorn. Have a beautiful day and thank you again for watching! :-)
Hilarious fun!!! Sounds yummy. I have never heard of puffcorn. Must be a USA thing. I dont think we have it here in Canada. Either that or I missed seeing it. I will look again. Cute video and the laugh at the end was wicked LOL...
Hi! How are you? Thank you for watching and posting! I hope you can find the puffcorn in Canada. Just look for a "Hull-less" type of popcorn snack maybe. If not, regular popcorn will work too. This stuff is really addictive! Thank you for the kind words! I practiced for weeks on that laugh, HA HA HA! :-))))) Hugs to you and yours!
I'm sorry you can't find the Puff Corn variety. Grrrrrr. This recipe with work great with regular popcorn too. It's just better without the hulls. We should demand that your stores carry hull-less popcorn! :-) Hugs sweetie
Hi chaingangleader3! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it. This was a really fun video to shoot! I practiced that ending laugh for weeks, HA HA HA... just teasing ya. :-) Have a beautiful day!
LOL, thank you for watching and commenting. This was a really fun video to shoot. Dad played the clown and was nervous to be on camera... even with a mask on, LOL. :-) Have a beautiful day!
LOL... that was a good one! I never thought of it! Where are my props when I need them? Did you like my laugh at the end? I practiced that for days, HAHAHAHA! Take care and thank you for watching and posting!!! :-) Hugs to you!
This is so dang cute- you make the cutest videos! The humor at the end was fantastic! Not to mention, the puffcorn looks delicious, and fun to make! Thanks for posting it!
LOL... this was so fun to make this video. That's my Dad as the clown. I should have kept the bloopers on this video because Dad is quite the character, LOL. Thank you for commenting and the kind words. I truly appreciate it! Have a beautiful day! Hugs to you!
Hi angggh! Thank you for posting! You can use butter or margarine instead. It will work just as well! I hope you like this. It's hard to stop eating it! :-) Have a beautiful day!
Hi! Thank you so much for commenting. This caramel puffcorn/popcorn is really easy to make. Just be sure to grab some paper bags at the store :-) Take care...
Hi. I haven't tried it, but it might work to subsitute corn syrup with a simple syrup. To make a simple syrup, combine 1 cup sugar and 2 cups water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 1/2 hour or until thickened. This will make 1 cup, but the puffcorn recipe only takes 1/4 cup of corn syrup. This should work, but I've never tested it. Please let me know how it turns out if you make it. :-)
Oh crap its hot

Could you make popcorn balls without caramel?
Are there any other ingredients to make the popcorn glued together other than caramel? Like butter popcornball, cheddar popcornball, etc..

Isn't white sugar, light corn syrup, butter and a little water components of a caramel?

Can I double the caramel sauce ingredients for more caramel?
And what is 5:55?
Is it like butter?
