  • Promised a show of your own? What happened to that then?

  • 3:09 LOL

  • The use of the Stranglers' Waltzinblack when the Joseph wannabes come in in their loincloths makes me feel one of them is going to be killed and served up in a Keith Floyd-type recipe!

  • @MsBkirk If only TV was that good!

  • @Darkridr25 It's produced for The BBC, so he covers mostly UK programs, rather than focusing on content from others countries such as the US.

  • Stewart Lee's let himself go.

  • I love the use of War of the Worlds music to signify paranoia.

  • I must say, this is probably the most accurate commentary I've heard on Reality TV in a very long time. The only thing I take exception to is that the commentator seems to think this kind of garbage is only limited to the UK. Trust me Mr. Brooker, the swill being produced here in the States isn't much better; it just simply has a better paint job on it.

Take a turd, put chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry on top, and it's still just a turd.

  • If you pause particularly at 3:13 (although, he is the the video a lot) is that Andrew Robinson from Neighbours?

  • @LyingSecret I have no idea, but i totally thought that too!!

  • @captainfluoxetine I forgot I even wrote this comment, but after having looked at this, I looked up that particular programme, and apparently it wasn't, but damn I still think it looks just like him.

I wonder if he also has a terrible australian/scottish accent :D ha

Anyhow, Neighbours is back on tomorrow (Monday) after the winter break, yay :D

  • "WHAT IS HE?"

"He looks like 3 different members of Take That simultaneously impersonating a snooker cue".

  • take lewis here... what is he? what IS he? WHAT EXACTLY IS HE??!? hahahahahha

  • Music in the last 20 or seconds sounds a bit like Bear McCreary's 'Shape of things to Come' from Battlestar Galactica, no?

  • @datalava it's Bear McCreary's Passacaglia :)

  • The Culture Show?

  • I dont know who any of these people are.....

  • @BraniusBalki Andrew Lloyd Webber? Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita...

  • You'd be forgiven for thinking that you've already fallen asleep cuz theres such a whoozy dream like feel to it all, its all tumbling balls and grinning bafoons, sycronized hippos and some alien with oily penis' coming out of it, - fraud would have a field day with that. LOOOOOOL LEGEND

  • David Koresh hahahaha!

  • hahah seamus christ, pure genius!

  • If only we could have Charlie Brooker reading the news every day :)

  • @fahim113 that would be amazing

  • Nice use of Waltzinblack, Charlie.

  • Awh when Charlie was fat <3

    Look at him now. Phwoar.

  • I would love to be violated in my sleep.

  • "he looks like three different members of take that simultaneously impersonating a snooker cue" Ha ha, fuckin pissed myself

  • 'david guest...played here by a semi melted paul simon going to a fancy dress party as mr T' - amazing.

  • Half of these shit programes are ... shit.... but Charlie brooker makes me laugh like a bitch xD

  • I just found out that Any Dream Will Do is on On Demand here in the states. I almost died laughing watching the first episode. Everything Charlie said about it is spot on... I'm surprised he didn't mention the show's strange, creepy deification of Andrew Lloyd Weber. They refer to him as 'The Lord'. It's sooo fucking creepy!

  • awesome use of bear mccrearys bstar music

  • @crazyforfood Damn, you are totally right. Such a great score, especially for a TV show.

  • Charlie B <3

  • What is he? What is he? What exactly is he...? Lol.

  • That dream show is creepy as shit.

  • Using Battlestar Galactica music to imply dreaming! Perfect.

  • The phillistines have broken down the gates of light entertainment & sacked the house that Lew Grade built. The watcher & the watched are one & the same.

  • Anyone know what the violin music in the background is at the end and in several other screenwipes?

  • @Cerberus221 NVM answered my own question ...Requiem for a Dream. Google is your friend. ^^

  • I bet those 9 dislikes are from the guys who had to sing almost naked to thire mums

  • Andrew "The Lord" Lloyd-Webber is like Mike Myers with aging makeup.

  • Charlie Brooker is very talented.

  • I love Charlie so much, but the fact that he uses Jeff Wayne so much in his shows just makes me love him even more....

  • thumbs up if you heard requiem for a dream.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes By the way - if there was direct foul play by the government and everyone knew it they would hang the administration o nthe White House lawn so of course it would change the world.

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes No problem buddy. Yes it does get tiring hearing alot of douches who think they know it all talking about 9/11. Even if you took the most official report- the joke that is the 911 report they acknowledge they missed the chances. Majority of people know it played into their hands nicely. Its just the physics involved and observation of what happened. But I know what you mean it can get a bit tired people talking like prophets. Conversation over, agree to disagree!

  • @WeNeedSomeGolfShoes Chill man -The word conspiracy is silly I dont use the word for anything. Everything bad is 'conspiracy' b4 it comes out. There is such a wealth of evidence for some theories on 9/11 that presenting them in 300 characters is not easy. YOU must go and do it to really see. I mean the point of it all is the evidence is right infront of you. WTC 7 even in the most conservative minds all round the world was unnaturally brought down. I dont wish to argue, but assure youits true :(

  • These shows - and everything like them - are abominations. Some insidious, media superweapon to brainfuck everyone who watches TV on a regular basis into even more mindless fuckups than they already are.

...And WHY has Jewtube remove the fucking text cursor from the comment box??!!! I can't see where the fuck I have to scroll back to to correct a fucking typo!

  • More like a grave of your own, pal.

  • "He looks like thre different membes of Take That" It's true, he looks like Mark Owen.

  • whoever created these reality shows is fucked in the head

  • Charlie's comparisons are fucking godlike

  • I have to say that I despise all these musical shows on TV. Fine, I know its popular, but its either Musicals or Reality TV, and little else. They desperately need to mix up with some quality programs of other kinds. Its just cheap shit.

  • 7 Germans and Andrew Lloyd Webber watched this

  • @spiers240 oioi.

  • subliminal messaging! works well as initially it was used by the secret agencies on spies and warfare programs! nowadays they have been running these very programs on the general public! one powerful subliminal messaging is advertising! beware and select online what you need to know about to have a coherent opinion! do NOT watch tv!!!

  • Goddamnit. Lux Aeterna.

Brooker, you had the power to stop this.

  • Anyone who doesn't believe 911 was a partial inside job has either not seen the evidence which leaves little doubt in any logical mind, or they just would rather they didn't believe it. Love to see Charlie explain the official theory and WTC 7 which is known to be brought down. Dissapointed in you Charlie!

  • @CastAirLead No, anyone who doesn't believe 911 was an inside job has studied the facts used common sense to decide what they believe in, not just jumped on the latest in a long line of conspiracy theory bandwagons. It's all a load of crap spweing from moronic internet shitstains like the ''Loose Change'' film everyone's talking about.

Bush and co. were simply not that slick to pull it off with no evidence left behind.

  • @luke72801 I havent ever watched 'Loose Change', its a pile of shit I've heard. Theres plenty of evidence lef tbehind buddy. Theres alot of shite out there but go look at it for yourself and you'll see unbelievably that its the real deal. I'm not arguing with you because you haven't looked into any of it so have nothing to bring to the discussion. Theres direct evidence of the use of Thermate but people dont want to know or too dumb to understand. The collapses themselves leave little question.

  • The Gilette Dimension!!!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Charlie Brooker is a fucking poet!

  • what's the music at 2:30ish?

  • 3:43 Jab at 9/11 conspiracy theory nutjobs, good on you Charlie.

  • @luke72801 lost a bit of respect for him there!

  • Isn't that the soundtrack from BSG?

  • ( insert your regurgitated Charlie Brooker quote here )

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber is the stuff of nightmares, like Freddy Krueger but with a shit stained dildo instead of a knife glove.

  • It's so sick it's almost German is one of the best comments I've ever heard.

  • It's so sick it's almost German... I'm totally stealing that line.

  • two cute chicks @ 0:14! damn!

  • so sick it's almost German

  • It's chilling how 'The Eve of War' fits so well with the Joseph's synthetic grinning faces. I'm not sleeping tonight

  • What is the song at 2:20?!

  • I watched Joseph at the time, and I don't remember the loincloth bit. Must have blocked that from my memory...

  • @killanotterinasecond why am i not surprised this is the top tayed comment

  • This reminds me of you have been watching assault on over the rainbow.

  • I loved the loincloth bit. I mean it's tripe, but it's cheaper than porn.

  • Shame he didn't crush the Culture Show itself.

  • Ya know, I would actually pay to see a musical called Tosser!

I really would. Though not starring that immature git. (The one from the Joseph show, not Brooker, who is more on the ball than even he realises)

  • the man is so clever its unreal

  • I wouldn't mind one of those coat things that they've go tthough. Of course, I'd dye the living shit out of it before thinking of wearing it anywhere.

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber looks like Admiral Ackbar. Every time I see him I think, "IT'S A TRAP!

  • "a semi-melted Paul Simon going to a fancy dress party as Mister T" - Fantastic :-D

  • Tosser the musical lol

  • Was that an original orchestral piece at the start of the video or was it the Battlestar Galactica tune used in sequences on board the cylon base star? (it certainly sounded like it)

  • @Seiphroth, no, both possibilities are from BSG. it was either the original (Passacaglia), or the same motif in different setting (shape of things to come). (both by bear mcgreary)

  • @somberlight , Thanks for the reply,.I was very obsessed with that show and so its hard to tell if im hearing music and sounds from it in reality or just in my own unconscious.

  • also yes Grease is popular but Joseph is quite a popular show...he's wrong about that.....it's performed around the world (though mainly by amatures) but by professional's as well...

It "superstar", "evita", "cats" and "phantom" are Lloyd Webber's succsess.

(Sadly he has a lot of failures)

    Charlie Brooker is a genius

  • Did anyone watch "Any dream will do"? Seriously.

  • i wouldnt stand too close his face might be catching.

  • This is Charlie's best vieo yet. "I couldn't stop laughing after the Gay Virtua fighter" gag. Classic!

  • I hate doing this, but does anyone know what the music is at the very start of the clip?

It reminds me of something from Battlestar Gallactica but I cant place it.

    Thanks

  • @MrSquark It is from Battlestar, I don't know what the theme is called though.

  • Found it!

It's Passacaglia from series one OST

  • Hilarious

  • why the hell is it called grease

  • cos its greasy

  • Car grease. Oil in other words.

  • lmao at 'which turned out to be more like repressed abuse dreams'

  • Brooker speaks truth and is hilarious. He needs to be broadcast, fuck the x factor! Why isn't this man broadcast more often? He's fucking hilarious. I guess sadly, society can't agree with the truth he speaks nowadays. Too brainwashed by reality T.V.

  • Have you not seen 'You Have Been Watching' on prime time Channel 4?

  • what's the song/music starting at 4:45?

  • Nathan Fake

  • In 3:08 did they start putting in The Eve of The War by Jeff Wayne, Justin Hayward & Richard Burton in there? :-p

  • @ChrisPrime1bot

yeah, brooker uses the war of the worlds soundtrack a lot in his shows

  • For me this is Brookers finest moment superb he got both shows right on!!!

  • Oedipal as hell.

Dancing in front of mum in your undies
