For me going to church seeing some old guy in a silk robe driving a 50 thousand dollar cadillac wearing a 4 carrat diamond ring and solid gold submariner rolex, while half his congregation has to go to the food shelf rather pisses me off. Then instead of learnin gods way I sit watchin people write checks to this guy so he can make his 25 grand mortgage payment on his new house so he has a warm place to sleep at night and is well rested to read that same book I got at home.
Why is it you think people at church are good? Not long ago a older guy he was a church goer he taught bible study he was an outstanding citizen in his community, well he turned out to be the BTK killer.
So yeah I'd just say I go to church to meet other people who practice religion as you make it sound like since I dont go to church I am bad. But me I do not have to hand out money in an offering or listen to some guy read the same book I have 30 of at home just to say I love god.

I'm not trying to talk shit. look, the way I did it was cold turkey from 100 mg/day and 6 mg/day of klonopin. it was fucking horrible but the shit is gonna suck either way. i survived, made it through, and am doing good. that's my advice...from one addict to another...

@bojangles322 that's not true. i went to meetings and kept relapsing. then i found a good reason to stay clean...my family. NA and AA work for some people, but others who just don't get the whole concept have a hard time staying clean using the 12 step program. You just gotta find what works for you...
@bojangles322 that statement is statistically untrue, NA style meetings may have worked well for you(congratulations, not trying to break balls) but the recovery rate of NA is about 5%, which is about the same as the success rate of people who kick cold turkey or use government programs like methadone/buprenorphine treatment, people are addicted for a long list of reasons which can't all be treated the same way,especially when it comes to opiates.

I've been going to a clinic now for 9 months and I really wish I was only having to take 30mg a day. I'm at 120mg's and I fucking hate it. No where near the hate of H but enough to piss me off. im bout to start methadone... im takin it for pain ive had a few spinal surgeries!!! ive actually just gone thru withdrawls from oxycodone.. like 300mg a day... i am completley sober from pain meds.. i just spoke bud.. thats what helped alot.. but my docs r changing me to methadone... my question 4 u is does it act like regular pain meds? i hate takin them... but I love the feeling.. right now im completly clean like 8 days without taking any... does it have any withdrawls???

the alleged "high" you describe from methadone is a placebo effect. It doesnt get you high. If it did there wouldnt be any heroin addicts left out there. Its the archaic views of NA/AA that want people to belive that there way is the only way and if you take a medication to help you on your path, then you are BAD or WRONG. It is 2010, and methadone has been in use for over 4o yrs and research PROVES it to be a viable treatment option. Dont be fooled by the pressures of the masses...

How do you go to a methadone clinic? You call them and make an appointment. Bada bing, bada boom. No, you don't stay overnight in a hospital. Unless you go to a hospital that is. But they won't keep you overnight at the methadone clinic.
