  • stop heal striking when you run or run in minimalist shoes

  • i have got this right now, i play an lot of soccer and hill running for fitness, i hope with restness and physio i can overcome it, because if i cant play soccer, i will be absaloutly devostated :(

  • really good video!

  • Scar tissue only accurs because you're body doesn't get the right information, mostly due to medecin and also ice and immobilization. If you have an acute tendinitis you should never take medecin (If absolutely necessary take paracetamol, this doesn't interfere with the inflammation proces). Let the inflammation do it's work, it is a natural reaction of the body to get rid of the damaged tissue. Don't ice because you will slow down the inflammation. Stress the tissue based on the level of pain.

  • i have the same thing as GTkennethxD. Doc told me the same thing and i got it from basketball. It pops in my heel. and hurts really bad anyway to tape it or reduce pain, besides ice and ibprofin??

  • Best to get straight onto these injurys.. I first got achilles tendonitis 3 years ago, saw my GP who just told me to ice it and take ibuprofen.. Just kept getting worse, I have a giant lump at the back of my tendon now, last week was on crutches cause so painful couldnt walk. I just had a PRP injection yesterday. I will ask my doctor about massage therapy next week

  • i play bball plus i go the gym and snowboard.iv had this problem 3 weeks now and its not good.this video is a gret help

  • great vid.

  • i play football and when ever we are doing sprints the sensation feels like the achilles tendon is over stretched and when i talked to our trainer he said to just ice it 20 min. every night i have tried that and it hardly has helped. It may not be the achilles tendon though because i have pretty weak ankles and whenever iu may stumble on the stairs and i may skip 3-4 stairs causing that same feeling. I am just wondering if there is really a treatment for my condition and what it would be.

  • I just got tendonitis in my right foot from doing just that, skipping stairs, it's too much pressure to put on just one foot specially if you step with the heel of the foot. Now my foot is just swollen and looks terrible, glad I don't have much pain tough.

  • is putting ice on it a good idea?

  • icing an injury like this is always a good idea. especially right after working out

  • Thank you for posting this, I am not a runner but I walk regularly at a fairly fast rate + I need to loose weight, Ive had achilles pain after resting and during walking for months, I will se my doc now! Thanks!

  • when it gets worse and worse it's called tendonosis, which is the degenerative changes as a result of prolonged tendonitis.

  • fantastic video

  • Very informative. I'm an athlete that has to run everyday for training and when I do I get horrible sharp pain in my tendons everytime.

I've switched over to the bike to substitute because I'm afraid of really hurting myself.

  • i got it but im a football player i hate it and i get it all the time!!!!

  • very helpful thank you

  • This is a very informative video about Achilles Tendonitis. What a lot of people don't understand, is that most problems with your tendons can sometimes be prevented, with proper nutrition. Some of the problems now thought to be signs of an Enzyme Deficiency includes Tendonitis.

  • very interesting... it still dosnt explain how i got it having been banned from exercise any more strenuous than walking and having a desk job, i'm assuming my doctors 'lie on the couch for 2 weeks' treatment isnt going to help?
