best is doing what the artists likes best. there is no time wether on the job site or even in a band for glory hunters, heros etc.those guys can get ya hurt or in a bands case not become one together.
@rokr4christ777 Strats are cool for doing their own thing. Getting that perfect Crunch on your neck pickup.
I'm just a person who likes boutique looking products. I highly prefer the design of the AT300 over this pedestrian looking 100. Such a Fender fan, he is.
is it just me or just it sound like one of the high strings is out of tune from the last minuteo on or so? i think he knows it too and is trying to compensate by bending it.
stratocaster is not a brand like ibanez. its a type of guitar like les paul. the guitar is an ibanez, but is designed like a strat. so technically, it is a strat
The term Stratocaster can be used to describe the shape of a guitar's body, but it isn't a brand name. Andy Timmon's guitar is more of a "Superstrat" than a Stratocaster because of its added playability and features.
Timmons rocks.Great performance, it just sucks that his guitar goes out of tune later in the song. What a pro though, he doesn't even let it faze him.I still haven't mastered that.
man, i was gonna ask him that when i saw him at a mesa clinic in olyphant but i didn't get a chance to. He is a really cool guy tho. signed 2 of my cds.
Has anyone got any footage of"beware dark days" off this album, its the best song i think and i would love to see clips of it live! But every song of "resolution" is pretty damn good!!
+1. I completely agree about "Beware Dark Days" - it's phenomenal. I really recommend you go over to Andy's official site and buy his recent DVD. It's a live performance of the Resolution album in it's entirity and is AMAZING! :)
I like many Guitar Players and have played 20 years. I just saw AndyTimmosn Last Night and I Think, he si one of the best guitar players in the world! Taste, Feel, Soul, Phrasing, Class, and versatility! Andy Really is Amazing I rank him in my Top 5 any day! Go See him Live and it will change your mind!
When will people realize that such a thing like best guitarist doesn't exist? Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons and Albert Lee are great cos' they know how to play. Then your taste decides who you like best...
i just hate the fact that andy, one of the best guitarist in the world, doesn't have decent gigs like steve and joe, although andy did a good job in hte clinic,it would be much better that he could tour with his own band around the world like steve and joe,i personally think he is better than steve and joe..
To call him one of the best guitarists in the world would be a complete lie, he's only one of the better ROCK guitarists. Neither him, or Satch, or Vai could keep up with say, Albert Lee, or Stanley Jordan in those styles, so they are very limited. Look up "albert lee country boy": you'll never see Vai or Timmons come even close to playing like that: they don't have that level of technique. Period.
you have too much time on your hand,my friend,if you don't dig his playing, move on,do something else, don't try to change someone esle's oppinion.btw,i'll take andy over albert lee,and stanley jordan anyday..i like albert lee, don't get me wrong.
Whatever. You are obviously too immature and have too much of a narrow musical perspective to understand what makes a truly great, well rounded guitarist. Post again after you move out of your diaper training phase.
I believe you are very much underestimating the aforementioned players. Those guys have dedicated their lives to the instrument and possess a ridiculous amount of talent. I'm inclined to believe that Vai, Satch, or AT could probably do just about anything on the instrument if they put in the time--just like Albert Lee or Stanley Jordan would have to put in the time to pull off some of their material.
In fact, now that I think about it, you may wish to look into Steve Vai's "Fire Strings" performance with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. It was a concerto for the electric guitar composed by Ichiro Nodaira that was, at one time, thought to be physically impossible to play, which is why they commissioned Mr. Vai to attempt to perform it.

It's not just you, it's out of tune for sure, and he is indeed bending it to compensate!

@tylerdwells ...and he made it look ugly like a strat, ew... he should have stuck with the first design.

Makkoman: what do you mean that the Stratocaster is not a brand of guitar?
What about the one that is made by Fender?!
atrickpay11 3 years ago
a strat is a TYPE/STYLE of guitar. though it was made famous by the BRAND fender, like the LES PAUL STYLE GUITAR is made famous by the BRAND GIBSON

Neither could do both.
