I put a rubber band around the base of the sock bun instead of booby pins and then just use a couple of pins to hold the hair down! Thanks for sharing!

@Muslimah33 yup :) use a longer sock for a bigger bun, and instead of using bobby pins you should be able to just wrap your hair around the donut then with no problem :)

This is exactly how they do it for ROTC in my school except down and neat. xD We mostly use a black thinner sock though.

I am totally going to try this. I saw those sock things at Sally Beauty Supply but it was made out of mesh. I wonder why they are always white though! My hair is black now so I'm worried. Maybe I'll use a black sock LOL.

Its easier if you use a sock thats close to your hair color (: that way, if there ever is a peek of sock, it wont be as noticeable as white. just a tip! (: my hair is dark brown.... so i use a black sock (:

Nice look! I also wear my hair like that sometimes, but a bit different. I make the high ponytail, take my sock donut, get it at the very end of the ponytail and just roll it down to my head with the hair in it! It gives my hair really nice waves if I get, it out!

You know, instead of bobby pinning all your hair, just stick all of your hair straight up and roll down the sock all the way down the length of your hair. It's SOOO much easier.
