Slayer - best metal marshall sound imo. AC/DC best raw rock marshall sound imo. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Hendrix, Slash and countless others all use marshall but their sounds are different. Am i telling u to go buy marshall amps? No, they are a friggen ripoff. Save your money and buy a handwired marshall replica from ceriatone, it shits on anything marshall that u buy retail. If you have to buy retail, get a blackstar instead. Go do ur research b4 u argue with me plz im just trying to help..
Kerry King fucking sucks. Seriously he's a fucking embarrassment. The guy's been around forever and all he's managed to learn is Slayer riffs and whatever Jeff's taught him. Kerry King is a fucking joke. Without Slayer this fat fuck would never have had a career in metal. Megadeth didn't want him, Exodus laughed at him. He had a rich dad who made sure he always had the best equipment.
I've tried marshalls and never found them to sound good straight out of the box? and anyone you see playing one on stage either has stomp boxes for better distortion sound, or they have had the amp modified,
I guess the marshall amp is a good starting point for an amp, I can just plug straight in to my mesa, and add just a little reverb or delay, and that sounds awesome! no mods and no overdrive pedals! to bad marshall just dont mod there amps from the factory to sound good out of the box?
@midniterunband so true iv had 4 marshall heads jcm 800 jvm mode 4 and vintage modern and all of em needed other pedals to get em to sound good , i then bought a mesa dual rec no pedals required with that . and now im going to buy a diezel vh4 head , enough said ..
Im with ya if he was playing say a C power chord which would be 3rd fret on 5th string and 5th fret 4th string he would then add in the G on the 3rd fret 6th string.
It's a 10 watt practice amp with a 6.5 inch speaker. I hate when people like you expect a 10 watt PRACTICE amp to sound a like a 100 watt tube amp. IT'S A PRACTICE AMP!
I am reffering to Marshall amps as a whole and not just a practice amp. I hate it when people LIKE YOU take what I have said out of its context jackass.
Because there overrated crap. If you want a really good british amp buy an Orange head or a fender Deville or mesa boogie. I just don't care for marshalls, they never did it for me. And when I use to own one I would put a black big muff through it anyways. I hated the Marshall distortion, it was too thin. I would just use the marshall for power. The only thing I liked about it was the clean tone, thats about all. other than that, I dont care for them.
I like Orange, Vox, Peavey, Bugera, and all other amp companies. But I'm just saying, If I could only have one amp I would pick the Marshall JCM 800. (Not the Kerry King version, just the regular one.)
@takitezy7 I agree man. I've owned 2 early 90's Dual Rectifiers. A 5150 and a 5150 III. I've also owned a Randall. And I always get the truest and rawest metal tone from a Marshall. The JCM 2000 DSL is my poison. I've A/B'd them with other amps and other amps sound too much like studio quality when it has this over-produced sound. Metal tone is about being brash and nasty. Not perfect and polished. There's so many different classic Marshall tones. Other amps all sound like the same amp.
@takitezy7 what about fender amps i got a lil 15 fender amp that i favor more than a marshalls i just got, i geuss i just gotta get use to it right? but how do you feel about fender amps?
@angels77100 Actually Kerry taught Jeff.
