is the sound much of a difference ? what do you recomend, xf6 or the mox8 ? they're not that much away.... but the mox8 has heavier keys and i dont really need a recorder on the keyboard.....
@ThePragmo You do?!!! cooll!! so you think this xf model it's better than the one you have (xs8) or is it just something ''different'' you want to try? because i want to save for either one, but i'm not sure which one! plus i would use it more for fun (not for public performance or whatever). i would really want to know what you think since you have one. thank you ;)
@ElBengie - just played it back. It's like wow this is the pinnacle of modern technology and we can actually get it to say Motif xs on the computer screen and everything. I'm still giggling :)
when he recorded. is it wave or midi file that you edit in cubase? can you save the file and open it next with all the original sound and midi still there?
@guruthemarusaki It was MIDI data. You can see the display in Cubase shows MIDI notes, not waveform. When you open the Cubase project the next day it will play the notes to the sounds in the XF. You could change the sounds later if you want.
Just tested the motif xf in the music store. Nice WS...however it seems quit cheap & anoying only to be able to buy "FW16E FIREWIRE EXPANSION IEEE1394 S-400 (393Mbit/s)" which is slower than USB2 (480 Mbit/s). Imagen that every Apple LapTop is now days supplyied with Firewire S-800. Is S-400(the stone age) enough? Do we need S-800?
I would say No & Yes..fuk'n..yes. Yamaha customers need a new Firewire Expansion supporting S-800 in motif xf. Simple as that!
@Drajfovic - In reality Firewire 400 is faster than USB2 because USB requires assistance from the CPU whereas Firewire can handle the data transfer direct.
Does flash allow me to loAd wav files from a HD such as drums. Create a userkiT and make tracks and have all editing features of that wav as if it were a stock sound?????
somthing know if ít´s possible to conect the modif with cubase and then with a korg triton? also it possible to use cubase with booth workstations? or work it only with the motif?
Not quite up to par with the Roland Fantom G without the big screen and pads but this unit sounds great and is a very powerful instrument. I cannot wait to play one.
@cocovi Why would you pay for a newer gen car when its no different than the previous gen under the hood? If you want to invest in the same problem that the company isn't correcting only because you don't have one, feel free to. What I'm saying is, do your research. I'm telling you as an experienced user, owner who invested in the previous gen (XF is no diff), not worth it. Keep in mind I own more Yamaha products than you and I'm saying this.
@deathlord109 I Think for someone who's just started speaking english in his videos its not too bad. He probably has many japanese viewers who want him to speak japanese as well.
as a XS owner, im not sure if the XF features justify its price. its not an advancement compared to its predecessor, the Motif XS. i dont know about this one yamaha. . .
I watn one like that..!!!!

..However if you say that Yamaha will make an FW800 card....than I would say Hurray....
Drajfovic 9 months ago
Now days computers have very good CPU performance so that wouldnt be an issue for USB2.
Still not agree that FW400 is better alternative. PERIOD!
Drajfovic 9 months ago
@Drajfovic - Believe what you like but it's a fact. Do a google search "Firewire 400 v USB 2.0" . There's plenty of results to llok at.

Why do you need Bert if you know what to look for in a keyboard?

@cocovi
In every presentation seminar you learn that a presentation is only 30% about the information and 70% about the way how you present it.
It seems that nobody at Yamaha have ever attended a presentation seminar.

Yes but somethings speak for themselves.
In this demo Katsuori doesn't need to tell you, he's showing you.
I personally think it's great to get to see the person who's behind Yamaha demo songs in action.

May not justify an upgrade from XS but for people who don't have an XS
I think the XF is at least worth its price.
