Any Russian will tell you that it is a good airplane. But if you look at the numbers it is quite scary.. 178 built, killed 591 people (wikipedia)... It makes it 21 TIMES deadlier to fly than Airbus 320. Just numbers..

Nice looking aircraft, powerful too, but they have a terrible reputation. I would not step foot on the aircraft personally unless it is to remain on the ground.

Why in the world would anyone have such a small 3- engine yet plane for what - 120 passengers ? Also does not seem to be very powerful ?

looks like lockheed tristar jet / BOEING 727 / Tupolev TU 154 (they probably thought of making Yak 42 from their TU "partners" of making Tu154)

Ive seen fast jets, but that teeny jet at the beginning surley can't acceleration that quickly, have a look 0.45--i wanna go on THAT plane

When I flew in it I was amazed by how little time it needed to have the right speed for a take-off.

It can take off very short runways.

I just flew in one of these from Kiev to Odessa. It was about the loudest airplane I have ever flown in. I sat in the back and couldn't hear anything above the sound of the engines. On the return flight I sat in row 6 which was better but still quite loud

You can get 1/200 models. Just google for them! I found a few.
