Getting VIN numbers is serious business. They can get copies of your keys made if they know the right people. Especially if you have the radio controlled lock dealies.
indeed, it's strange that the US allowes such cults to grow :S
You don't see that many religious problems in europe (well atm we have an assload of muslims thanks to the US invading them, who are really starting to test our patience...)
I know it's easy to skeptical of a church that demands tons of money and is made by a science fiction writer and such. I think if they welcomed a one-on-one conversation, then you guys should do it, tape it, and put it on youtube and let people be the judge. The rickroll protest thing was funny but I'd like to know why some people (some obviously smart people) are into Scientology before I rule that they're run by satan.
One D.C. Anon did set up a private meeting with the then-OSA chief of the Org, where he was not allowed to film the conversation. He said nothing came of it. Another D.C. Anon spent much effort trying to set up a constructive dialogue between us and the Org. For her efforts, she was given a Cease and Desist letter.
D.C. Anonymous has no further interest in bilateral talks with the cult.
I'd like to see oschaper justify the blatant invasion of privacy committed by the scientologists. They had no right to photograph the VINs of vehicles they believe were involved in the protest.
After you park, every one exits in a place where no one can see. We have done this a few times for protests when we don't want the jerks to know who we are.
But remember that paranoia can get seriously dangerous and I would like you to get help or stay away if the pressure is to big. We don't want that anything happens to you.
There should be a policy where they enter a mall or some very public place with LOTS of people. The Anons then change into their masks, different shirt, ext. Then they walk back into the mall and then take off their mask and change into different cloths, shoes, ect. The point is to BREAK their connection between you wearing that mask and YOUR FACE. They WILL harass you and possibly even steal from you. In fact, if you can, rent a U'Haul, transports ALL your Anon members in the back and park it.
The article states that Scientology is harassing their critics. However, Christianity is not innocent of that charge either. The difference, it seems to me, is that Scientology does that in self defense. Christianity typically does that as a pre-emptive strike. As well as a post-emptive strike. But, some might say, Christianity is only trying to help make the world a better place. Well, so is Scientology. Christianity wants to help save people from themselves. the COS wants the same thing.
THAT was what you were so afraid of being called out on for fabricating? THAT was it? Dude, we all know the major religions have baggage -- so do you think that makes it okay for others make a mess of people's lives, or gives us greater imperative to stop it when we see it? The Co$ has been attacking critics since its inception; Fair Game is not self defense.
Framing Paulette Cooper was not self defense. Infiltrating the government to destroy documents was not self defense. Attacking the reputation of Time was not self defense. Harassing John Sweeney was not self defense. Leveling false charges against Sean Carasov and Gregg Housh is not self defense. Fabricating a bomb threat is not self defense. Anonymous is calling the Co$ out on its crimes and misbehaviors; that's not fair game, it's free speech -- and it's not a crime to have fun while doing it.
I guess the GOP must be part of Scientology because they do anything to get rid of TIME.
Free speech is ok and I fully support it but the actions of Anon like hacking and destroying property and threats against members speak a different language.
I strongly believe that members of Anon (not all of them but most of them) are nothing more than hypocrites that don't care bout the church and join the protest because its fun. Ask yourself why nobody protests the FLDS? No because not fun enough or are you afraid that mainstream America would get on the side of FLDS?
Anonymous can't be everywhere at once. The Co$ fired the first salvo when it tried to suppress the free flow of information on the Internet; and the more the truth about the Co$ gets out, the more people there are who want to join to do something about the cult. I don't know what Anonymous will do after the Co$ -- it might very well call out another cult's bullshit. That's not for me to say.
So you don't think that copyright laws should exist? If you want to publish some material that is not yours the law requires you to ask for permission first. The internet is not for free (you have to pay to access it) and not all content on the internet is for fee as well.
I think that Anon will not make it past the summer and as soon the media looses their attention or the public opinion directs itself against Anon.
Wow, way to try to change the subject without answering the accusations. Classic, just classic. And also way to over generalize the concept. Also classic.
Yes, copyright laws should exist. No, I don't believe that core doctrines of faith should be subject to copyrights. You can get the Bible for free online in its entirety. You can get the Koran for free online in its entirety. Why not Dianetics and the Bridge? If you have the secret to a better life, then share it, don't sell it.
And how do you thing would we support our expansion? We don't get Government funding, collect no taxes and just donation will not pay for the projects at hand. Since its available online you don't have to bother about but if you like to support the church get the original from the ORG.
So that's all the Co$ is, a business trying to fund its own expansion? Sounds right from what I've seen. How much money is going to keep the Freewinds operational? How much is going to support the staffs of the Rehabilitation Project Force labor camps? I think you'll find it's easier to support a non-profit when you put an end to the frivolous expenses and shut down labor camps in order to focus on your stated mission of helping people achieve a higher consciousness.
1. Scientology is a religion. 2. I have not a clue how much the Freewinds will cost to be finished. 3. How much pay do you receive in a monastery?
How much money do you think has been spent on restoring destroyed church properties or the websites? If that money alone could be used freely it would support a lot more good causes.
I didn't say Scientology couldn't be a faith, Freezoners have shown as much, but the organization which has been built around it is nothing more than a business built on a pyramid scheme.
Monastic orders are not valid comparisons, as their core doctrines are based on denying materialism. The Co$ thrives on materialism, which is why it so desperately guards its copyrights.
And while I won't deny vandalism is destructive, no data have been presented showing an increase due to Anonymous.
I wish you luck as well on your endeavor. Don't worry if Anon will not destroy the Church because we will face any obstacle placed in our way and evolve with time as well.
What terrorist tactics? You mean the alleged bomb threat from the "Elite of Anonymous" that the FBI has said was bogus (and which the Co$ suspiciously has very high quality, original video of, even though they were supposed to have gotten it from YouTube)? The "anthrax attacks" that the Co$ has never provided any evidence for? You mean the charges the Co$ leveled against Sean Carasov to get him arrested, but which were completely dropped by the DA?
Would you at least be so kind as to provide some Google search terms so that I can find the links you're alluding to more readily? The Internet has a lot of tubes, you know.
If they felt threatened by anon protesting outside their church, then why did they go out into the crowd with kids to take pictures of their cars? They are not afraid of us harming them, they are afraid of us exposing the truth and want us silenced.
And it is perfectly legal to film and take pictures of anyone in a public place. I mean some Anon was filming the Scientologists, right? Did he over step his/her bounds? No. We live in America, not China. I'm not defending the church, I'm just pointing out that this video is a stretch and there was nothing crazy about what the Sciens did. And by the way, they sure looked dangerous. Did you see the evil in their eyes? They were also wearing clothing that a cult would wear.
It's not a matter of legality -- it's perfectly legal, we know that -- it's that it was an intimidation tactic on their part. They wanted to let us know that they were going to do everything they could to hunt us down, which is why they came out in a team to do it. It's not like they just meandered up the sidewalk and snapped some photos: They marched out of the church, snapped their photos, and marched back in. Legal or not, it was meant to be intimidating.
So what if they meant to be intimidating. What do you think they think when they see Anons in front of their church protesting. I think it's pretty intimidating to have a group of people standing outside of my church. Stick to what's important is all I'm saying. If people were standing in front of your job or house protesting wouldn't you feel unsafe? Wouldn't you possibly want to get their info so in case anything happens you have evidence. Anon meant no harm but they shouldn't wine about this
As a matter of fact, my place of employment is picketed quite often, and by people far more aggressive than Anonymous; and at no time have I ever felt intimidated. Sorry, I'm not sympathetic to people who want to strike back at peaceful protesters, no matter how they feel.
And to the point about getting evidence in case "anything happens," that's why there is a police presence at these protests. In case anything happens, the proper authorities would be able to handle the situation. The Church shouldn't be playing the role of police, especially when they have no cause to.
You have a good argument. But what I am saying is this clip doesn't show how these people are dangerous or intimidating. You may not react as they did but other people may. These weren't harmful people we saw on this clip. You have a right to protest where ever you want and they have a right to copy down Vin #s if they please. As long as they are not damaging anything. We can't say w/ 100% that other types of organizations wouldn't have acted as they did. Their actions are not solely CoS based
A Constitutionalist, huh? I am too. If a undercover cop was filming you at your church and you feared that he may be a danger at all, even if your wrong, would it be such a bad or unconstituional thing to go over and ask for his badge # or get the vin # of his vehicle. There was nothing unconstitutional about what the Scientologists did. They weren't stalking anyone. They walked over to a car and got a vin #. We are all protected under the constitution.
"The constitution has nothing to do with whether or not someone is acting in an outrageously inappropriate manner."
I agree. The Scientologists weren't acting in an outrageously inappropriate manner. If they were, then based on what you believe, you shouldn't be saying these Scientologists did anything wrong. Let me know if I interpreted you incorrectly.
It's pretty funny how they were angry at the nasty scientologists for going to look at their vin # and used the excuse invasion of privacy, but yet they are protesting right in front of the church. I mean if you want freedom of privacy, get off the street and go home. They were all in a public place so the Anons should know that any one has the right to look at something in a public place. It's not like anyone was physically attacked or damage done to the car. We all have freedom.
It is a CRIME to record and or stalk an individual. The scientologist has broken District of Columbia,s law. Share your footage with the police and file charges
The point isn't whether or not the information they gather is valuable, it's that they're overtly making an attempt to intimidate us by showing that they're trying to track us down.
Rule # 1 Stick together and protect each other. There are LULZ involved but never forget they will try any trick to destroy you individually that they can. Remain security conscious.
You guys handled it well - Asking for hugs and telling them their families love them. Don't be afraid, anon. Their tactics don't work against us. This is a new battle and they aren't equipped to fight.
all i know is if a scifag touches my kic ass car to get a vin # i'll break there damn fingers , warnin to scifags if you see a kick ass mustang don;t touch or a 300 lb monster of a man will hurt you !

the constitution has nothing to do with whether or not someone is acting in an outrageously inappropriate manner.
There is no constitutional right to target individuals and openly flaunt indoctrination of children others to do so as well.
give me a legitimate motive behind "randomly" walking across a city block to record a VIN number in front of the owner?
there's a reason anti-stalking laws exist; to stop the very same practices taught by scientology.

I mean if you want freedom of privacy, get off the street and go home. They were all in a public place so the Anons should know that any one has the right to look at something in a public place. It's not like anyone was physically attacked or damage done to the car. We all have freedom.

I wonder if any of those guys were into a hetersexual action in missionary position?
I'd pop their xenu at any time.

It is a CRIME to record and or stalk an individual. The scientologist has broken District of Columbia,s law. Share your footage with the police and file charges

Teaching kids how to stalk peaceful protesters. Yep, nothing creepy about that at all.

The point isn't whether or not the information they gather is valuable, it's that they're overtly making an attempt to intimidate us by showing that they're trying to track us down.

i fucking knew he was one.
I asked him after i caught him taking pictures during the protest.
He said that he was just interested.

Next time, you guys can legally cover your VIN#'s by putting a piece of paper inside under the windshield and cover up your VIN's.
Also, park far away and get a cab or bus into the protest.
And when you go back, stop in at a restaurant for a while. They wont be allowed to just stand there and will be kicked out.

Rule # 1 Stick together and protect each other. There are LULZ involved but never forget they will try any trick to destroy you individually that they can. Remain security conscious.

We are on target when it comes to security.

You guys handled it well - Asking for hugs and telling them their families love them. Don't be afraid, anon. Their tactics don't work against us. This is a new battle and they aren't equipped to fight.
