@horsegal151296 i got up to early because i was a beginner then. i had just started jumping. and this horse was not taking advantage or refusing he was a 32 year old pony trained to help beginners it was near 100 degrees that day and i didn't have a crop him slowing down was him being a little bit lazy which when it's that hot and you're that old is to be expected. i loved this horse till the day he died and on cooler days when i had a crop he was fantastic espically when i was more experienced.
@horselover99100 posted in 09, i just hadn't even been riding a year then. diagonals weren't something we had to watch in jump courses and even if we did we were just messing around not showing or anything so it wasn't a concern but regardless i was a beginner and the horse has since died, it was a long time ago.
@horselover30 aww im so sorry!!!! and ya i know my instructer usually makes us watch r diagnals along time befor the jump but if we relize it feet away from the jump we dont have to worry about it but now we all know how to canter jumps well i have for a loonnnggg time now but ya i know what u mean
@horselover99100 this was my last lesson with this instructor, after this my new trainer made us canter fences so it was never a problem. but when i got my horse i had to go back to trotting them since he was green and everytime we land im checking my diagonals. my new trainer drilled it into us
Your launching yourself up with your post. I would suggest squeezing more with your calf and shortening your reigns to pick up the pace and make his strides long. Besides that your position wasn't that half bad.
@horseluvr06 this was a long time ago and a different instructor that was the way she taught i have a new instructor now who teaches a different way and it looks much better
@horseluvr06 yeah i have a new instructor that one was really cautious and didn't really know much about teaching she could ride well but couldn't really teach us,. after a year she was fired and i got a new instructor and i went from thinking 2" cross rails were huge to thinking 2'6" oxers were easy in 6 months of that instructor and she taught the foward seat i have other ones that i realize just how bad she taught.
@horselover30 that good that she got fired well not to be mean like that but she odviously couldnt teach anything usefull...im lucky that my first lesson was with a BHSAI certified instructor lol
@horseluvr06 yeah the past almost year has been amazing i went from being at the same level as the junior (like 5-7 yr olds) class with her to being moved up to the most advanced group they have. i went from riding the basic easy horses to now im riding the only horse they've had and kept that was green and teaching him to canter and jump and riding him on his first oxer and now having my own horse
@horselover30 That sounds like a great past almost year...lol...you know i have a standardbred that i got straight off the track that i have learned everything on...she has been my horse for 3 years and look how far we have come...i broke her to ride and yeah somedays arent the greatest...but when you get to have the feeling of accomplishment of making a horse the way it is, is just GREAT!
I'm not trying to be mean, this is just a tip: It seems that your horse is going to slow, or your post is to energenic. Try to calm down a little. Othr wise, great job!
@horsejumper137 the horse is old and lazy and i didn't have a crop, and i was posting odd because i was hot and not caring and it was a long time ago when i first started riding it was posted a year ago but it was taken many years ago. i now have my own horse and a new instructor
we weren't even jumping he was just stepping over them and if they're low it's fine look around you will see plenty of people trot things much higher i have seen some even walk. for my hands it has to do with how the horse carries the bit and it takes concentration to keep them still and at this point we just didn't care so my instructor said it was fine when i have time i will put others up from other horses and you will see i am usally fine as i also said filmed a while ago
not sure exactly how high i usually jump random things at my friends house and alot higher in lessons too around 2' is what i usually jump but i know i have gone higher
our instructor made us she said even though they were low she wanted us into a full 2-point like we are over the bigger ones. and the title says extremely low and the description explains why i know they were really small.
u fold way to early thts why the horse was refusing he was taking advantage

It's not safe to jump going that slow and you need to work on keeping your hands still.
