Sydney's death - Melrose Place

This was so horrific. Just when it seemed Syd finally had a chance to put her past to rest, she gets killed instead. That's the nature of drama of course, but I was saddened to see her die just as she was beginning to find herself.

So, according 1x03 (new series) she arrives to the hospital, someone steals her earrings, she is conscious, Michael asks her ''who did this to you?'', Syd answers: ''someone from the past'' (Of course she didnt notice that Samantha was the one who was driving the car...) so she thinks someone else did it on purpose. She is terrified and begs Michael to let her die.

Next sequence: Matt says everyone, including Craig, that Syd has passed away. Michael zips a morgue bag with the name of Syd on it, but she is alive.

I am just annoyed at how they promoted her being back on the show and she was on the cover of TV Guide and she is dead less than 10 minutes into the premiere. What? Now we must see all flashbacks of her.  snore

However the spinoff MP isn't that bad of a show, but not even close to as good as the original.

Season 1 of the original MP was very underrated and realistic. Seasons 2-3 were very bracing and seasons 4-7 were campy & over-the-top

I don't think they will explain it and why should they? its a soap opera! lol seriously though I'm on episode 2 of the revamp and the murder mystery is way more interesting than some convoluted way of how they faked her death b/c at this point it would involve a body double and a clone. I think they just need to push forward with the revamp and keep it fresh.

I don't think they're gonna kill Sydney off in the pilot. I mean after all the CW stated that the script was to be kept top secret. I think that the network released this false lead just to ensure the shock value of the pilot episode.

If you look on here there's a promo for the new show and you see her floating dead in the pool, they may have a change of mind due to the negative press it's received. There has been loads of on line petitions and people organising boycotts of the new show etc but I doubt ti. They have just signed Josie Bissett for a few shows which I imagine are for Sydneys funeral!

I've seen that promo and I just can't believe that the network and producers of the show would be that retarded. Killing Sydney off within the first episode would be ratings suicide! I mean people barely got over the fact that she had been disposed of in the original series, to live through her death again is just stupid!

You are assuming of course that the show will use continuity, something Melrose wasn't exactly famous for. Remember in season 4 we found out that Amanda had married a mobster and faked her own death to escape. Was that before or after her surname was the same as her fathers, considering Melrose is a spinn off from 90210, Laura Leighton played 2 different characters and lets hope Josie Bissett doen't pop into 90210 in her retrun or she may wonder why her husband Kyle is the Principal.............

I was hoping they would do cross overs, I think cross overs may have made Models Inc more of a success. But as they have cast that under cover cop woman as a different character I don't think they will! Do you know that there was another spin off from the original 90210 planned but after Melrose looked like it was going to flop in it's 1st season it got cancelled.

I really don mind about the new Melrose. I was actually very enthusiastic about the idea but once I have seen the new courtyard... it faded away!! hAVE YOU SEEN IT?? IT IS TOO MUCH TRENDY, TOO MUCH COLUMNED, TOO MUCH SOPHISTICATED... that´s not melrose place, the old, cosy and perfect courtyard. So, for me, Melrose ended in this episode, when Sydney died and all the characters went away for good.

Sydney was one of the greatest characters in Melrose Place. This scene shocked me. She was much better and interesting character than Megan, Samantha and Jane!!!
