Excellent. You are right about melody & rythm and how mood is transformed, you showed it clearly! One can see you getting carried away, grabbing tempo (really fast!) into those intense joyful moments; you've got PASSION and that's definitively transmitted.
Obiwan, my friend! Brilliant as always! Your play your drums like a big marimba. Do you tune them to actual notes? The Star Wars theme was perfect! This should get a million views, to show other drummers the melodic side of a rhythm instrument. You don't know how many times I get trashed by kids for having "too many" drums! They just don't understand melodic-tom theory. It's all drum-machine singles for hands and feet to them.
@17drums Hi Dave! Thank You very much Your very kind words!:) Yes, I tune the drums - or at least try - to absolute notes and never change them to the actual music work. I see my kit as a single, constant instrument, though the notes are confused, are not in a keyboard order. Never care the "too many drums" critics! I share their opinion if a drummer doesn,t use his kit and only put lot drums around him for the sake of vanity. But You use all Your drums... TBC.
@GBWagner1 ...and the other pecussions. When I played in bands as a "normal" - not melodical - drummer I used only 7 drums, during rehearsals only 4. (I was lazy to carry more.) But when I used my nowadays big kit in a concert 2 ys ago, that was much bigger fun. I could add more colours, moods to the music of the band.
Anyway I would have needed even more drums for Empire March coz of the half notes. Cowbells are not optimal, make comic a weight music, so I could play only a bit part of March.
