They switch off from alcohol then you deny them that and they goto something different. Shopping or food and whatever else you can abuse. But i still would not make it illeagal. There was a point in my life where i was thinkin fuck im just gonna smoke weed and get drunk for the rest of my life. Got shouted meth a bunch of times but stoped when the cunt said aye ya wanna buy this bag. Never touched the shit agian. Then i got paranoid with weed got panic attacks never smoked it agian.
I could legally obtain weed where I live, but I've never even bothered trying it. I guess maybe that's just for the better. Of course there you're still talking soft drugs, but keeping away from that, you also keep curiosity for hard drugs away. It's such a shame that people try it once to find themselves needing more, only to end up really bad.
pot is actually legal where i'm from. so i smoke it sometimes and occasionally take some ecstacy at party's. thats all fine if you can manage your use but i will never touch anything like heroin or crack or something, nooooo way. but ex at a techno party... ain't nothing better. sorry to hear about your freind. i have an uncle who is also an addict. but he is using for like 30 years and he does have a job and stuff so hes doing ok, for now.
Touchy subject. Living in southern cali I personally have hung around every circle, the coke heads, heroin addicts and tweekers the trippers(my favorite circle).. Anywase fuck heroin just drink malt liquor and smoke the dankness. Too bad about your friend though I have had exactly 7 friends OD on heroin... fucked up
