  • Looks similar to the Obama worship.

  • This song is exactly what started going through my head while I was watching the inauguration this morning. I actually started mouthing it to myself while watching his speech!

Although it would be a stretch to compare Peron and Obama politically, both are similar in the amount of populism and attempts to be seen as saviors of the downtrodden masses in times of darkness (although, if you know much about Latin American History, this is not exactly anything new or innovative).

  • we are doing this play an im in the children's chorus

  • Hey she spilled Jesus blood on the floor! Abomination!!!

    Hehehheee

  • thats hollywood, that never happened with the real Eva

  • fantastic...i'm start to cry

  • This is the best part becaus ei was in that choir singing ha

  • You were in that choir? Where was it filmed? Argentina? Cool...

  • i love this part of the movie, its amazing

  • I remember that by the time of this movie release I was not interested in it at all. Some years after that I watched Evita in DVD. I LOVED IT! Awesome movie.

  • I still think this is one of the most haunting scenes in recent film history, even though they totally ripped off "The Godfather".

  • This is one of the best parts of the whole film... the music is great and you can really see the contrast...

The elements fit perfectly together, it's a masterpiece...

    Thanks for posting it ;)

  • hermosaa Madonna

    emocionante pelicula

sin duda una de los mejores

    papeles como actriz

    Evita !

    amo esa pelicula

  • I'm doing this song in a theatre production soon... I got told I'd passed my audition today :D

    I love this song!

  • I love this song

  • LOL

  • But Madonna did fantastic in my own humble opinion. =D

  • Yes she did, she didn't look like Madonna. :D

Great job by Jonathan Pryce as Juan. :)

  • Best Eva: Evita Duarte Peron

  • best eva: Valeria Lynch

  • I don't agree, i personally think he singing is forced pretty. You know, she vibrates it too much. But I don't mean that against you, you can think she's the best :)

I loved Madonna as Evita. For me, she did a splendid job capturing her life beautifully and made it accessible for many ppl over the world.

  • I'm Argentinian and know about Eva more than many people, alright? Madonna's performance was excellent in terms of realism, maybe not dramatic shit but she really got in Eva's skin.

    That's my humble vision.

  • I meant I prefer Evita in the theater. I have opportunity to see and hear some of them. Sorry mistakes, English is not my first language. I liked A. Banderas at this movie.

  • Id like to know more about Evita... someone could tell me where can I find information? or which book must read?

  • wikipedia has information of her

  • Madonna: the worse Eva of all. I saw the most importants of them.

  • this movie is increadible. Che (Antonio Banderas) is amazing. all the actors did a fanaminal job. increadible. nice job on the flats and sharps Che!!!!

  • It's a musical. It's not going to tell every side of the story. That's impossible. In the making of the stage show, ONE opinion of Evita was chosen. The one against Eva. You can't well have it both ways in a show. You'd confuse the hell out of your audience, and the show would have no point. Learn about musicals, and then form a *reasonable* opinion on how the show should've been made. Not to mention that shows don't HAVE to be completely historically accurate. It's not a damn biography...

  • do you really have nothing better to do than devote your time to hating a political figure who died so many years ago? instead of complaining of problems in the past do something about the problems we are facing today

  • i dislike the movie! but i believe that Evita was one of the greatest figures of last century!

    Santa Evita rest in peace!

  • Evita was the Light 4 ARGENTINA

    She's our Queen A REAL QUEEN=)

  • For those of us that love Evita, there is nothing anyone can say to change that. There is no such thing as a perfect person. We all have good and bad things we are responsible for. It is not for us to judge. She was beautiful, powerful and she loved her people and they loved her; she did what she felt she could for them and that is MUCH MORE then most do for those less fortunate than themselves. Viva Evita.. you will never be forgotten.

  • I don't understand why that happens so much. How many people are all good or all bad? Yet so many people seem to think that way about Eva.

  • I do find it interesting that the West finds the leaders of Argentina so fascinating. Mrs Kirchner has been on every internacional TV channel this month.

  • My point: From what I read in our books, Eva & Isabel were both married to Mr Peron. Both were members of the Peron Judicial Party. Isabel was a politican in the 70s who led the Argentine. I read in the papers that Isabel was arrested in Europe for her role in starting the Dirty War. If Isabel is corrupt, does not Eva Peron share her traits, since she was Peronista' and married to the same man? We cannot gloss over any bad that any Argentine leader has done in the past, even Evita.

  • Isabel became president after Peron died... And while she was president Jorge Videla overthrew her... And as I recall Jorge Videla was the bad guy. There was a whole fuss in The Netherlands, because our crownprince married Maxima Zorreguieta, daughter of Jorge Zorreguieta, who was with Videla's party during that time...

  • And Isabel', and the woman is being voted on today, Christina'? Who are they?

Was not Isabel' arrested earlier this year?

  • Che never married Eva....Che was in the play her self

In real life a man who barely met her

  • Never met her at all. He only wrote to Peron asking for some equipment for something, Juan Peron married Eva.

  • If Che hated Evita why did her marry her?

  • Huh?

  • And the real Che Guevara was just a gentleman who didn't use guns & kill people. For the record, no one other than Eva Peron herself knows what her motivations were. Not Webber, not Rice, not the Anti-Peronistas & not the millions of critics who get their history out of one-sided tabloid/yellow journalism masked as historical biographies.

  • CONT:

At least Eva built thousands of establishments such as orphanages, homes, hospitals (over 100), schools (over 1000), nursing homes, shelters, vacation spots & sent food, medicine, clothing, blood plasma to countries such as Isreal, Ecuador, the US all within 6 short years. Historians/scholars like Joseph Page, Robert Crassweller, Julie Taylor, Maryssa Navarro paint a completely different picture of her. That's a fact.

  • Che was again peronist? and were they fighting against the perons? in this movie

  • it is make me cry

  • does Che die in this scene or just get badly injured? lol

  • badly injured lol, he was just running then passed out.

  • Doesn't anyone realize what's going on here? While Eva is receiving communion and the children's choir sings her praises, Peron has sent the police on horseback to squash the dissenters who are protesting against the Peronist regime. This scene is similar to the one in THE GODFATHER, where the title character is attending the baptism of his grandson while his hatchet men carry out the assassination orders.

  • Whats strange about it? She's weak from cancer.

  • cuz she had cancer.

  • These is so sad i want 2 cry

  • Madonna could never looks like Eva Peron, Eva was a real lady!

  • The society women in Argentina at the time would've begged to differed with you. They saw Eva as a tramp and nothing else. In fact, they were wont to say that Eva was no lady, much less the first.

  • That's cos it was the first time in their history that a YOUNG woman stood up against them. A 26, 27, 28 year old woman caused tension within the military & made the corrupt aristocracy shake in their boots like no other political leader in history. Eva was the first to put a stop to the Landed gentrys exploitation of her sex/gender & her class. People seem to forget the treatment/exploitation/social unrest that occured in Argentina prior to 1945.

  • i love this scene =)

  • It almost make me cry.

  • Amazing scene. <3

  • this is my favorite song on the entire movie, i loved the moment where Che falls down on the street after hiding for those cops. thank you for uploading this!
