  • Hey, I´d like to make a mold from my Ep III Clone Helmet but I´m not quite sure how I could do this. I read some instructions, of course but I don´t know how if I need to put a mold release agent onto the helmet that it won´t stuck in the silicon.

  • Great video, thanks. What is the material you apply to the clay layer before adding the fiberglass resin and matt?

  • Can you made one for me?

  • Hey I had #2 out the mold from Kev, awesome to finally see who makes the molds for him. Great work man!

  • What is the blue stuff?

  • @senicaslife The Blue stuff is 1065 silicone hi pro blue catalyst 4 hour cure time.

  • coool-ero! jum! jaja

  • Nice work Ken!! Great looking matrix mold!

  • hi can you make a mold for me??? a migthy morphing power ranger mold

  • @katkarot Hi, thanks for the interest. The average starting price for me to make a two piece silicone matrix mold with a fiberglass jacket is $1,200.00 You can find cheaper mold makers I am sure. The silicone is evacuated so there is little to no bubbles more on the no bubble side. If you or anyone else is interested in having a mold made please leave a message at 951-943-1217 or Email me (Ken) at finegore@aol.com

    Thanks

    Ken

  • If I make a silicone mold, I can make a fiberglass helmet with this mold?

  • @moraisdesantana Yes you can. If you have other questions, please don't hesitate.

    Thanks again

  • is that clay ur putting on it

  • @commandersem Yes it is waterbased clay being careful not to let it rest on the helmet too much and covering the helmet with plastic wrap but you need to make sure the paint or clear coat is completely set or cured first.

  • nice Ken. So how did you pressurize the blue silicone rubber down the paper tube? How did you get it to cover the model without any surface bubbles?

  • @coldin71201 I use a pressure pot I purchased on Ebay. When you DeAir the silicone you don't have to worry about bubbles. I also place the tube in a spot where the silicone flows down to the low spots and then rises to fill any cracks and crevices. If you have any questions email me at finegore@aol.com

  • Thanks1 I wish my video taping was better.

  • the craftsmanship on that mold. dang!
