Did I hear "Free software is going out of business?" Erm... LMFAO Not sure if you are quite aware, but earlier this year, Linux held a larger market share than APPLE! Linux brought in the "Nettop and Netbook" revolution.

The beauty of "Google Phones" is not the phone itself, its the operating system. The fact that Apple are fighting to keep up to date with Android shows that its a threat (3Gs + soon 4G). There is only one iPhone, but LOADS of Android devices.

android 2.0 and beyond is multi touch so droid and nexus one are multi touch enabled for 3rd party applications.. but googles apps themselves are not multi touch

the dolphin browser is multi tocuh and it zooms smooth

the nexus 1 has a 1ghz snapdragon processor,3.7 inch omled screen, androd 2.1,with google navi and it will be offered at a subsidized price for tmobile but its unlocked too, this imo along with the droid are real competition to apple iphone

The Nexus shouldn't be competing with the Iphone because the Nexus is meant for businesses that's probably why it lacks the multi touch and things.

ugh, alright, the nexus one DOES NOT lack multi touch just does not have it pre coded into google apps, its screen is FULLY capable of multi touch. also, the nexus IS competing with the iphone for top spot as far as mainstream smart phones are concerned, and IMO it wins in software, and blatantly wins in hardware.

The nexus has multi-touch... It is also much faster then the Iphone making it better for gaming and things like that. It has 512 ram and flash memory while the Iphone has 256 ram only.
