Actually there is a better way. You buy an plumbing Inside pipe cutter that goes on your drill and you put it down in the pipe and it cuts off the pipe below the closet flange. This makes sure the pipe is clean on the outside so you can glue it properly. I would never glue a join that looked like theirs did after the over grown hole saw chewed up the out side. You will be revisiting that pipe due to a leak....
All the funny comments about the glue seem reasonable but trust me thats how its done....im a licensed journeyman under a master plumber and you see this on a daily, i thought it was a bit excessive at first but you wont find any plumber who does it differently....just a lil insight
ATTENTION PIPEFITTERS: We have a simple effective android application that removes the time of calculating offsets and figuring piping dimensions. No more down time in front of your calculator with pen and paper. This works in seconds! Look for Pocket pipe Calculator in the android market.
I like any tool that makes my job easier... I'm not sure about that one though.. it could be done with a sawsall and flathead screwdriver in most cases... It looks like that tool chewed the pipe up pretty good .
This looks like a great tool, I do pool plumbing in sch. 40 PVC in 1.5" and 2" plumbing. I keep Rambits with me and use them all the time. This could come in handy.
what if you you need that piece of piece inside the hub, rather use a sawsall with a hammer and a flat head screwdriver to pry the fitting off, probably faster anyways.
have never seen this tool. dont think theres a real big market for it. i dont see why you would want to reuse pipe. faster and cheaper to just cut and install a coupling and new pipe/fittings
i dont see the point i could cut any of those sockets off with a pvc saw, flat head screw driver and a hammer in no time. you would have to buy a pipe pipeparana for every size of pipe for them to be useful and that would cost a ridiculous amount and just be more things to carry round
I like to smell glue....

It looks to me like if I have enough pipe to run the guides, I have enough pipe to cut the whole fitting off and install a coupler and more pipe.

I wanna see you use that tool on that offset watercloset flange like you advertised. useless tool

why cut fittings in half, cut pipe past fitting

Hi David, I think I'm needing this kinda of tool. Do yo have video on removing the pipe from a flange?
vn900 1 year ago
I used to do this with a torch. Heat the fitting and the glue would fail. Hit with a screwdriver, and the fitting cracks. This does look easier.

Ein Dremel ist praktischer und kann für einiges mehr verwendet werden.

Why not just use a replacement flange over the top of the old one.

it can be usefull , but most of time is better to cut the pipe before the fitting and extend it using a coupling .
