Come on !!! We need impartiality just because the regime allowed you to film this "documentary" it doesn't mean you have to kiss their a**** . Please get some credibility and show as how it is, you didn't deliver the goods, instead you wasted your times with this propaganda lullaby. Trying to force stuff like this down our throats only serves to reinforce what we already know about this regime. Please do not waist our times like this, and next time If you desperate for money play the lottery
the real crime committed there by USSR, China and ultimately the N Korean government will eventually be know to the world to it's full extent in the coming future. So put up all the propaganda you want to RT , the truth will surface, even though there is enough evidence right now for anyone with half a brain to see that N Korea is a ghost country.. I'd be surprised if 1/3 the population survived that monstrous regime.
Lmao at these comments, u freaking people putting N Korea on a pedestal deserve a freakin bullet in your heads just like the 100s of thousands if not millions of north koreans that were murdered by this regime. Why r the streets empty you fktards? Y do u think the people speak of the great leader like he's a god, they are scared shtless , they survived the purges and they know how quickly their lives can be taken away. a few yrs ago orphans were eating trash like dogs where r their parents?DEAD!
I thought this would be an unbiased documentary, but it seemed to want to show surprise and a life of luxury. Makes me wonder if all the foreign access was granted due to the complementary nature of the documentary.
...and the game of golf is good for those who are strict-on-them-selves... or on their own selves... where some people have grown-up with too-much responsibility on their shoulders... and are not allowed to make mistakes... or would hate their own selves for making a mistake... hmmm... so if you make a mistake on the golf-course... then it's no-problem... and nobody would know... except you... hmmm... and when you are your own boss... then there is no-one-else to punish... hmmm... so-relax...
...and maybe a 18-hole-golf-course would also be a good-idea... hmmm?! ...and even though I have never actually played the game... I do think about it... and it took me a long-time to understand as to why do people play the game of golf... when it can be so stressful and almost impossible to win... THEN-I-realized... that it's just a game... where honest-mistakes are forgiven... where it's the total-opposite outside-of the gold-course... where an honest-mistake can get innocent-people killed...
@davecameronz I know right? NK would be so great with a WalMart on every 20 Miles and a KFC, Burger King and McDonalds on every corner and think of Chevy Dealers all over and fat people too... LOL sorry, I couldn't help it. North Korea isn't going all around the world or butchering as much of the middle east as possible today either...
I don't think every country should follow the western materialist model, yet I find this portrait of NK (which scarcely mentions the element of totalitarian oppression) unspeakably sad. May these good people have a better future.
lets hope nk dont let the crimenal international bankers and corporations into there beautiful country, they have raped every country of its resouces, i wish my country had strong leaders like nk and ireland would not have been raped of everything and now is the poor man of europe.
@irishgeal1 Our system might be bad, but I don't remember the government publicly executing members of the opposition, sending me for a concentration camp for criticising the regime, effectively causing millions to starve to death, being shot or imprisoned for trying to flee the country, making us worship a fat little despot for doing bugger all...
I'd rather have the international corporations, bankers and criminals, thanks.
Hmm, interesting take on NK. I watched a documentary 2 days ago called Kimjungilia and it painted a much more stark view. Many of the people who had escaped had told horror stories of prison camps 17 or more in total and purging of 3 generations families for crimes...real or fabricated. Many had stories about being in the camps and starvation, some children less than 9 years old, whole families imprisoned. It looks like they are still in the 70's with all the neat architecture.
@Goremaster imagine, the european MEDIA talk about the U.S. and Canada only thus: the KKK, the destruction of the indians, Guantanamo, the homeless, the theft of billions to Wall street, drugs, mafia, etc. And nothing else! For what is thought in 99.99% of europeans about the US and Canada? Yes, the US and Canada this monstrous totalitarian regimes. And after all the facts are true - but one-sided. This is propaganda.
@CENOZOICMAN that may be true, and certainly most of what you hear about north korea is trying to discredit the country but this documentary is also propaganda and ignores everything bad about the country
@mphet26 yes thats true but I'd still rather hear the whole truth, I dont like the idea that I shouldn't be told certain information in case I interpret it in the wrong way or something like that.
The issue of the west only giving us one side of the story and ignoring all the good things about life there needs to be addressed, but so do the obvious failings and abuses of the state
North Korea is a clean place, everyone has something to eat and they know to read and write, they live in peace among themselves, despite the lies of the USA government, unlike in America full of frivolous inhumane injustice, dirty country full of ugly stupid fat people without social justice. I think Europe should distance from the lies of the yanks and their government.
Around 24:00 there's the narrator who speaks with a blond white woman who speaks perfect English without any accent. Is she American, and what is her role there, or her job? And does she live there on a permanent basis? She must surely know the North Korean language, unless she's just visiting as a tourist.
Gorgeous woman (whoah), and she definitely seems to be very intelligent, even if the interview with her is short.
Beautiful! And I hope it's like that for all of NK.
Army :
At the start of the film, we see the Army parade. Marching are men wearing green uniforms. To the sides looks like huge masses of what I think are North Koreans standing perfectly still in an organized way and who seem to be dressed in red clothing. Are the latter actually people, or something else?
If they're also soldiers, then wow! It'ld be a huge number of soldiers for a country of only 24 million people, according to Wiki.
so RT is tacitly , or even explicitly , championing the mass murdering Lenin and Stalin? These two men were responsible for more deaths than Hitler x 10 , or even more than that, and yet RT is glorifying them and their gifts and museums, and portraying the NK govt as efficient and peaceful? Wonderful. Maybe they should also talk about how Kim Jong Il played golf and got all holes in one, on every hole, and how he won so many prizes for science etc every year and so on and so forth.
@DeltaNordicAdvance And RT could also explain the true history of the Korean War, which Washington claimed was started by NK, when it actually was initiated by SK and Washington knew this, but saw opportunity in siding with SK, so lied to Americans about this; lying being one of Washington's MOs. It's verifiable history for people who do the research, and David Swanson, editor of WarIsACrime . org, has done just that.
@mikecorbeil Ok fine. But that would not make them consistent. Maybe they should do another doc on how great nazi Germany was and how it went from foreign power inflicted Wiemar hell to 'proud and energetic' industrial and military superpower in less than 5 years, and support all the propaganda and murders there with the exact same logic they did that for NK, and at least implicitly the Soviet Union. Then I would at least call them 'consistent', and a bit more unconventional.
@DeltaNordicAdvance Go to sleep. You don't know much of anything about NK, other than it exists and people accused its former President of all sorts of evils, while Americans couldn't cease to elect evils, liars, and so on. SK started the Korean War, Washington knew this and wanted to opportunistically try to profit from this moment in history that Washington covered up with lies.
David Swanson, editor of warisalie . com, "War is a Lie" for book. SK started the war!
@NobleClaymann Well, if seeing isn't believing... Why don't you go check things out for yourself? If you are from a "superior capitalist country", you should be able to afford the ticket no problem : )
I am not able to afford trip to North Korea, but where in this film is famine proglem, countryside, normal people life? Showing government building in Pjongjng is nothing but crappy propaganda. If living in North Korea is so joyful, why normal people can not travel around the world, or watch this movie via internet? (internet in North Korea is closed to foreign pages, noone said about that in this movie).
@NobleClaymann "Crappy propaganda"... Did any of it look staged? I think not. "Famine problem"? Does it exist anymore? And is North Korea supposed to only ever be about "hunger"? "Normal people"? I think quite a few normal people were shown in the video & they looked allright. "Why can normal people [in NK] not travel around the world"? But they do. Many are working in Russia, for example; for the rest, NK is still in a state of war, and has to follow some common sense rules.
@anticosmopolitan You're brainwashed with western propaganda, which demonizes all "enemies" of Washington and its Wall Street masters. No country is perfect and the USA has no grounds to stand on for preaching to others.
@NobleClaymann I think you want to perceive North Korea only along a very narrow perception frequency band and get frustrated when you don't spot any reinforcements for the comfortable and facile stereotypes you are used to. Just chill and let new perceptions come slowly in...
@troubledseed Lol, thats exactly what i thought, but it probably took like 2 week to make this documentry, so they missed a turning point in this film
Amazing story, Aleksey! I hope this movie will open eyes for those disgusting westerns who only think North Korea is full of brainwashed zombies. Of course, it still has its cons, but you have to admit, it isnt bad ,I would love to go to NK.
