I am a nurse in the US. Yes, I could see a huge difference in between pt from HK and pt from mainland. Not only the pt is need the family is very irrational too always argue with the doctors and nurses. I once has a after 80s male patient who would scream on the call light wanting some orange juice. This patient doesn't even have insurance and his wife sleeps in the hospital with him.
