  • For Top Water frogs and lures, go to Ebay and search seller: jcstriper

  • ha ive been fishin purple paddle tails on top for years. had alot of people laugh too. green zoom trick worms work good too.

  • very nice man. I've tried just about all the lures mentioned thus far, but i'm stoked to try these scum frog bigfoots i just picked up. hollow body floater with kicking feet.

  • They work awesome I got my first 5 lb. bass last year with it.

    Tight Lines

  • i live in florida right next to the glades and i do the same thing u do and it always works but try these frogs called "Ribbit" they produce some massive fish

  • made by Stanley...been using them for years! Awesome bait!

  • love the low water conditions at Holiday Park. Fishins always good by the Crossroads.

  • Hey Steve. I want to go down for a guided trip from you service sometime in febuary. What is you're email?

  • The key is oxymoron is to hook the work differently and let it sink more and have your fingers on the line to feel for the tug. This time of the y ear the bass are not super high energy and only the smallers ones will chase large like that.

  • heck yeah i love my kevin van dam reels

  • Whats your best topwater frog in your opinion? I have a snagproof but its really stiff on action..

  • Its hard to beat a Zoom horny toad...if you are talking hollow body frogs... the Spro frog "jr." is my pick.

  • my opingnon, tru tungsten's mad maxx frogs is killeer

  • scum frog, nice squishy body and u usually hook all of them.

  • 4:42, what was that a fan boat or an airplane or something?

  • airboat

  • hey i fish in a lake in pompano beach and parkland would lures that work there work in the everglades to?

    i use

    buzzbait

    spinnerbait

    shads

tiny torpedos etc. and what pound test u think?

  • how do u get the worm to float

  • it does not float...it will sink slowly if you let it...just reel it up on top of the water like a buzzbait.

  • top water is awesome, i dont care what hits it or how big! nice vid... 5 stars from me....

    -check out my fish'n vids-

  • Very nice i havent tried everglades yet but im in WPB so i fish in some nice good size ponds or lakes and man are those bass fun to catch them on topwater. I use that same exact worm too, but ive never tried this method ill try it next time i usually use a topwater popper and man do they hit that baby HARD!

  • hey just wondering when you go to the everglades do you really have to go to any particular spots when you go out there or can you just go out there and use that speed worm and most likely catch one?

  • It is more or less "areas" in the everglades since everything looks the same. That said there are some specific spots that have structures like rock piles, humps or ledges that you can key in on. You just have to look until you find them. Just go try that speed worm and see what happens. Hope that helps out.

  • absolutely....try Zoom's horny toad.

  • would a weedless frog work good in these conditions also?

  • ill try that and thanks for the tip

  • is it the bigger speed worm or the smaller one and for some reason when i hook the smaller one it swims weird

  • In the video it is the smaller one. maybe it is the way you are hooking it? It also will swim weird with too heavy of a hook, too light of a hook or if you get a bad run of plastic from Zoom. Try the "horny toad hook" in a 3 or 4 / O size.

I like the big speed worm too but it also swims weird for me at times but it will generally attract bigger bites..

Try the 5" Gambler flappin tail worms or their flappin shads. Cut the paddle tail in the exact manner as the Zoom speed worm's tail is cut.

  • ill have to try that rig...thanks...5*

  • Thanks! Hope you get a lunker !

  • i went today and got a largemouth and it bit my worm in half...this rig works awesome...thanks again.

  • Topwater is my favorite :D

  • how do u make the bate weedless plz tell me im tired of taking off all the weeds when im fishing for bass !! nice video tho

  • Just come all the way through the bait and then skin hook it or bury the hook in the other side. That should help you out.

  • You can add a small weight. A screw in one works best. In the video I am throwing it weightless.

  • do you suggest adding a weight to the line when using worms or something similar?

  • Wow there is perfect bass cover as far as the eye can see lol.

  • shittttt runnnnnnnnnn aligator!!!!!!!!

  • did you catch any reds around their??

  • ronald mc donald xD pretty cool vid 5 star

  • Hey i like the vid very cool. i love fishing in the everglades. my wifes dad owns the everglades safari park so when i get a chance i like to go out there and fish. but i was just wondering the location of where you are fishing in this video. or good lake where i can fish in kendall. anyways thanks for reading! O'Brien.

  • Hey bro thanks for the comments! The vid was filmed out at Everglades holiday park on the L-68. I was fishing the north side of the canal heading north towards alligator alley throwing a watermelon red zoom speed worm and a black Gambler flappin shad.

    Tight lines,

    Steve

  • cool video, but it seemed as if you pulled the fish out too fast and just tossed it in. now im only 13,but the way i was taught, was to lip the fish, and gently glide it back into the water, not jerk it out of the water and throw it back in

  • Hey man that is a great way to handle the bigger fish that you catch! You were taught right. However you want to handle any fish that you catch as LITTLE as possible so you do not remove its slime coat which can kill it.

Also, the faster you get a fish back into the water only increases its chances of survival.

Thats not too mention that we are using 7 foot heavy action rods with 40 pound braid in case we have to horse os big fish out of the pads.

Thanks for your comments! Tight Lines

  • Cool vid!

  • What is this? Whats the name from the Sport? "Pull the Fish fast out"? Or is it "Fishing"?

  • Why dont you come on down to the glades and find out! Tight lines.

    Steve

  • I forgot to mention that we are fishing with very heavy rods and 40 pound braid. The idea is BIG fish...though you do not catch them every time...just like the day we filmed the vid. That is what makes fishing so much fun!

    Tight Lines,

    Steve

  • ive seen 5 or six ten pounders come out of that canal in the last couple of years,I pulled a 9 during the spawn this year around the corner.I call that canal the lilly pad canal,Ive never taken the time to learn all the #s the one it runs into out there we call the mangrove canal.I was killing them out there during the drought,my last couple of trips out there have been kinda slim.I find when that water is running out of holiday park for more than a couple of days those canals tend to shut down

  • Danny...hey buddy hope all is well and you get ot try those peacockc out! The vid was filmed on L-68 heading north towards the alley. The "mangrove canal" most of us call the center canal. That runs west to the Miami canal but I am not sure of the number either. The big canal that runs south from the park to Tamiami trail is L-67 or "the big L". The bite at Holiday park is all about water levels...just like the rest of the glades.

    Steve

  • hey that first peacock i caught was on a all white color an rapala xrap, there were 2 of them and they just kept chasin it, yesterday i caught my very first gar.

  • hey, i live in south florida myself, and i just went out to the everglades today, you should've seen it! fish were everywhere so many fish around us and we used every top water lure we had but we didn't catch one fish....maybe we're doing it wrong....

  • Given all of the recent rains the ph and oxygen levels in the water have been changed drastically in a relatively short time and the fish are in a bit of a funk. We also just had a full moon which does not help either. The gravitational pull on the earth messes with a fish's swim bladder and on nights with no clouds the fish tend to feed all night long under the light of the moon. Sometimes the bite is over at sun-up and not on again to late in the afternoon around the full moons.

  • That's a really good tip ,and is very true.A lot people advise the opposite.Ive kept track for the last three years, of various conditions.By far the mosted commen threads has been temp, moon phase, and water clarity/movement.Though Ive caught bass in cold and very hot conditions out of holiday park by far the favorite temp is 85 degrees plus or minus a couple. Those afternoon rains will make them more likely to feed at night when its nice and calm as well.

  • Hey again. WAt would u say would be the best lure for dormant bass in heavy cover. im fishin a lake and theres a bass atleast 10lb+ jus hiding in the heavy grass and he jus wont budge.wat would be the best lure.

    Heavy Cover

    Dormant

    is it a frog??

  • The frog is a good lure for the grass. Try the Gambler cane toad, horny toad or even the spro frog. Throw a big 14" worm at it also texas rigged weedless. .

  • id be afraid of an alligator coming out after the fish .looks like some good fishing tho

  • Hey. Im not The best with baitcast reels and ugh i need to know wats the best way to like stop the birds nest and how to better my accuracy and persistancy in the way i cast thx

  • Practice, practice...sounds like me with a fly rod...try adjusting the spool magnets as well as the brake for the spool. If you drop the lure that you are throwing it should hit the ground and not backlash. Thats when you know it is set right. Once you get the hang of it you can loosen both settings up for longer and longer casts. You can always feather the spool with your thumb for better control.

  • Hey how are you can you tell me what worms are best for peacocks in the cutler ridge/bay area.thanks

  • peacockc seldom hit soft plastic baits. I have caught a few on a fluke but that is about it. Try the small Rapala x-raps in colors gold or clown. Make sure that you work them reakl fast. The peacocks weill also eat a chartreuse chatterbait whch is a lot of fun to fish. Dont forget topwater also...chug bugs, torpedos, spooks etc...will work well for the peacocks.

    Good luck!

    Steve
