I saw this on Worlds Toughest Fixes they had to go to the bridge twice because a week after the East span broke and the wires fell into the sea and one landed on a car it took weeks to fix

@sideslide23 : see the other YOu tube videos of the earthquake damage. This portion of the bridge is being rebuilt to withstand the estimated temblor expected in the Bay Area within the next 30-40 years. The retro fixes are insufficient for long term survival. The bridge is being rebuilt and these are just the temporary measures to accomodate the new bridge construction.
@sideslide23 Just because you never felt one while living there, doesn't mean nothing ever happens. There have been 2 major earthquakes and these are just precautions taken in order to make sure nothing bad happens, like in '89. It's costing an estimated 7.5 billion dollars, but it will be worth it :D
@sideslide23 phoenix AZ is so ugly to live in CA has everything beaches forest name it we got it and its not like we always have earthquakes.just jeolous
I wonder how soon after they reopened the bridge that the first accident happened on the S-curve. Anyone remember that deal?
