  • I am an American. My grandson is half Lebonese. To be honest, when that came about, I felt my country was being invaded through our virgin daughters. I felt the greatest anger I had ever known.

That was some years ago and the anger has lessened as I have watched my grandson grow. He is a singularly great kid.

Today is Christmas day. I am sitting at home alone and have watched Majida El Roumi videos for a couple of hours. Also, I did some research. I read about Gebran Tueni.

  • Today I see that there are in Lebanon things that I can recognize. There is great pain. There is great sorrow. There seems to be in the midst of great confusion great hope, great courage, great faith, a great spirit of patriotism that is a good thing. There is also a greatness of human spirit and there is the kind of great beauty that transcends the trials of this life and is able to be seen by all those with eyes to see and heard by them with ears to hear.

  • I do not know if I will be around when my grandson becomes a young man, or a mature one. But I do know that so long as I am around, he will never be allowed to feel that being called "Lebonese" is an accusation against his worth. He will be encouraged to love America, but also to get to know his fathers people.

  • Thank you... :)

  • I have never imagined that I would be leaving Lebanon, it happened, so as many friends, graduates, engineers and doctors and artists and families, leaving our beautiful and couragious country why? because we have to handle the problems in this world, palestine and israel and iran and usa and russia and syria, all want to reflect problems on a 4 million beautiful population and country, 25% had left, 5% had died, i am away from my country, thinking about it every single second, I love Lebanon

  • we hope peaple can understand what you are saying

  • meaningful word......(^^,)

  • Powerful.

  • your words are just, courageous, express the view of most lebanese.

    thank you ,
