OSU is a freakin' state school. Northwestern is one of the best colleges in the country, and it can even proubably rank against Harvard. Ya, I went there. Cheapest? One year at NU = nearly 2 at OSU)$35K vs $21K. While NU may beat OSU in a football game once every 40 years, OSU has NEVER been better in academics than NU. A school that offers such academically challenging majors as Sport and Leisure Studies and Turfgrass Management (grass growing), is standing on weak ground when arguing the virtues and validity of the academic excellence it offers.

A classic performance. This was a perfect example of a team with raw, underrated talent sticking with their style of football against an overrated team expecting to coast. Lots of remarkable 3rd-down conversions were the difference for NU, plus a suprisingly capable defensive line (including future S.D. Charger Luis Castillo) imposing their will. This game and the 2000 victory over Michigan, the game that really put the spread offense on the college football map, are Randy Walker's legacy.
