  • Billy, stick to shredding on the bass and drop this scientology crap! For the love of God, stop following this brainwashing cult!

  • Why do people waste so much time on stuff like this anyway? I mean why would you bother to study up on something that you don't believe in and make the efforts to protest it. Find something that you do believe in and put your heart into something constructive.

  • Mark was very nice, Billy was very nice, Tommy too. Tory...... I love you but being upset like that doesn't really help when the other side is willing to have a nice conversation. As for the guy with the mask.... WHAT AN ASSHOLE!!! We're trying to help people, not attack them. How often does a celebrity comes out to talk to us? This is Billy Sheehan, not Miscavige or one of those OSA jerks. So why don't you just shove your mask up your ass and stop "helping" us.

  • @xenutv1 Where in your life do you feel it is necessary to bash another persons religion? Scientology is responible for what, 100 deaths? Christianity is responsible for MILLIONS of murders, rapes and for people being tortured. The bible claims the earth is flat LOL and center of the universe LOL and that it was made in a few days LOL all "facts" that have been proven wrong with logical thinking. Congrats little sheep, follow blindly.

  • I see no difference between scientology or suicide islamists or violent hindus or catholics raping boys. There all pathetic lias with no connection to the real world. The real world is what two or more people agree upon sharing the same facts and not opinions. I can't respect MrB Sheehan's talk about "I respect you so you should respect me" drivel. It's corrupted logic and a stinking ground to build the future on. Christianity is even worse than scientology throughout the centuries, though ...

  • Incredible musician -

    Completely delusional Human Being.

  • Ambivalent to the existence of a God -

All Human Beings are immortal and can be a God through Scientology -

Xenu ruled the galaxy. He put "beings" into volcanoes on Earth and blew them up. He trapped their spirits and implanted them with evil causing devices. For $ 6500 auditors will remove your "implants'. Also - you can't listen to the story I just wrote BEFORE going through the expensive "training" - or you will die of Pneumonia. Still want to be a Scientologist ?

  • I emailed back and forth with Billy Sheehan on this topic a few years ago and he was sincere and polite. The mask guy needs to listen to Eat 'em and Smile and see this in context. Celebrities get a different experience of the cult than those who it has harmed. To expect them to account for the actions of others is nonsense. It's sad that such a talented guy keeps two sets of books on this, but I hear Jaco Pastorius was something of an asshole too. Doesn't stop the music he made being incredible.

  • I liked the discussion, mainly because it actually was one, until Mr. V came into it.

  • Yes, the 'you're on acid' guy was quite rude & even Tory, i felt, was a bit too agressive towards him considering how open & willing to debate Sheehan was trying to be. But I think it's that people are quite emotional about this matter and got frustrated by his inability to see the obvious and his participation (albeit unknowingly) in the lies of $cientology.

  • hey fucking anon i bet he can bass shred better than you.

  • I think people who follow this fantasy of Scientology are like Billy - they had a serious void or problem in their life and this came along and they grabbed on to it. If not, they're probably just totally delusional.

  • i want to just go and hug Mr. Sheehan and say we still love you whether you are Scientologist or not. and fuck up those others people

  • Billy Sheehan is at least willing to put himself out there for his beliefs.. the camera man, along with is friends.. become a bit of a sewing circle after the interviews go on..

  • @SLee1337 Do you not see how fucked up society is because of people's crazy religious beliefs?! Honestly, think about it! Im an athiest aswell btw.

  • your on acid dude lol

  • Einstein did not fail math you idiot. Read about him so u stop sounding like a moron. Show the OT bullshit.

  • It's precisely because I believe Billy Sheehan to be sincere and a good will man that this organisation is to blame. It's not about attacking the persons or the spirituality, it's about calling the swindle for what it is. That other beliefs have been used to that end does not make it right.

But what can you do? Repeating to someone that he's been brainwashed (which, sadly, I believe) and has no free will can not turn anyone around.

Kudos to Billy for his attitude, there ,'course.

  • Fuck that shit man! I love Billy, he's my favorite Bass player, and he can believe whatever he wants to believe, and so can everyone else, and yeah, Scientology has made mistakes, and a lot of them. But Billy is pure awesome, and Scientology is his way of doing, whatever everybody else who's religious is trying to do. But to hassle him for being him, and the pussy in mask? Every religion is about peace, and yet everybody chooses to fight any go against that, no religion has ever said to fight.

  • @BStewart97 BULLSHIT! Islam teaches you to kill anyone who denies allah (for example). Religion has been the cause of sooo many wars through out history, I really don't think you know what your talking about.

  • I respect Billy for standing up for what he believes in. He did a great job and didn’t get flustered once by anyone, especially the guy with the mask. Everyone should have a right to believe in what they believe in and folks should respect that as they would want their believes respected as well.

  • Billy was fantastic here. He answered what he could within the parameters of his beliefs (what he knows and/or what he's allowed to say). Regardless, kudos to him for standing out there and being open to discussion. He's a very peaceful guy (at least in public view), and very respectful and approachable. I give him tons of credit for his conduct under the circumstances, regardless of his beliefs.

  • as famous a bassist Billy is in the music world, Tom Cruise is the same in the movie world. no one is immune to being brainwashed by nutty scientologists. Why? Because NO ONE, NO ONE has any REAL answers and we are all just humans who are looking for something to believe in. THERE ARE NO ANSWERS....so...stop hatin` on people who believe stupid stuff. It`s just a waste of time, as is YT comments....lol so I better stop---

  • Einstein did not fail math, he received the grade of 1, which in germany is the highest achievable grade.

  • I agree, scientology is a global scam and a cult, but i also belive that no one has the right to tell someone that belives in it that they souldnt belive in it. And we dont have to bash on scientology, i mean none of it is affecting the average person by any way.

  • tHE BOTTOM LINE FOR ME, IS THAT bILLY IS OBVIOUSLY A GOOD MAN AND LIVES BY STANDARDS THAT MOST COULD ONLY WISH TO BE DISAPLINED ENOUGH TO LIVE BY. mY QUESTION WOULD HAVE BEEN - "HOW IS IT BEING A SCIENTOLOGIST AND BEING THE BEST DAMN ROCK BASS PLAYER IN THE WORLD!!!!

  • weird "religion" anyways comme debate on THEWORLDDEBATING COM its a website made speceficly for it its new its awesome.

  • Billy had balls but was obvioius he'd been coached. I feel for him. He feels Scn has helped him and that's cool But he doesn't know what non-celebs experience. You should ask those questions.

  • i love this man i dont care if he sucks dick for a living he is a legend and chill dude

  • Fuck those bitch ass punks in the masks. Billy showed how much of a man he is by not reacting to the punks anger.

  • You amerikans are idiots. The only peope letting this cult free. Are you blind and dumb serporting this cult.

  • @fanus1000 WE AMERICANS OWN ALL OTHERS!

  • He is uncertain Ron wrote the Fair Game policy, then when he realizes it was Ron, he says that Ron made mistakes. So Ron made a mistake in being vindictive and crazy paranoid.

Since Paulette's book was published in 1971, the year he joined the cult, I wonder how many members say they read these books, but didn't, since $cilons are taught to lie to shatter suppression. Really what they got was the cult propaganda summary of what was wrong with each book, because he "knows" it is entheta.

  • I don't know whether it is all $cientology, or if Billy has some fried-brain residual drug problem, but he seems kind of scatterbrained, and unable to grasp key concepts, such as the difference between propaganda -- the cult's interpretation of various events to cover up, protect and perpetuate itself -- and actual court records and documents. Truth and "acceptable truths" (lies) blur together. He bought into the cult's explanation of SNOW WHITE: "It's a conspiracy!"

  • @arduino68 it would be pointless in a way, the minute you proved to him it really happened he'll rationalize it as "ok it happened but every organization or church might have or has had bad members". he already used that in the video.

Billy Sheehan seems like he's in light sleep mode, sort of awake but not.

  • Man, fair play to billy for keeping his cool when he has to listen to that whiny-voiced cocksucker in a mask. Trying to tell Billy his own experience isn't true. Wow

  • i hate einstein comparisons.....his theory of special relativity, e=mc^2, was WRONG. but it is true that he failed one of the earlier high school maths...

  • @mousepad1123 Quick, go publish your rebuttal of special relativity in a well-respected physics journal and become one of the most famous scientists in history! What are you waiting for?!

  • It would be much better to make a interview where you all are gathered to a meeting inside a building so it is possible to enjoy the meeting without all the noise.

  • This is not the way to go, if you wanna find out about the truth of scientology. You need to gather all the evidence about what scientology has done as a criminal organization. You cant discuss a concret case, unless you have the facts written down on a paper by those who are involved or have been involved. There is a lot evidence on the net, a lot videos and statements from former members of scientology.

  • @globe255 The best way to discuss is to discuss scientology with a former member and a member and someone who isnt member and do it in a room where you have access to computer and net, so all parts can see the evidence, both from the computer and the evidence from the former scientologist. If it was possible to have such a meeting, it would be great, but only 5 people, namely: member, former member, not member, and a chairman + someone who can take notes.

  • "There are many other documents that back it up too."

Ummm no there are no documents to back up Ron's lies about his own life.

  • Yeah the guy with the mask is acting like a complete jack ass. This guy is actually speaking and doing some real communication for once he should be respected as you would any other person. He is for the most part open about his funky beliefs so Id say quit messing with the guy.

  • Billy was a real gentleman...and so completely unlike any other Scientologist at these protests. Perhaps due to his fame, he has been treated much more lightly by the church itself.

  • I guess this video shows the two sides of every story ay? Billy is a calm and decent scientlologist, like most but there are the fanatics like all groups of people, you see some of the fanatic blind members of anonymous too in this. Granted I am not a fan of scientology at all but I respect Billy for his perfect defence, no anger or slander at all.

  • true, no anger, a real gentleman.

    but he´s too much deceiving.

    great musician, tho

  • Poor Billy is brainwashed.

  • The Anons don't do themselves any favours on this by shouting Billy down. I think he's deluded to be buying into $ci and the tech, but he's given a good account of himself on this, and come over as a decent bloke.

  • Holy shit I had no idea Billy Sheehan was so damn KVLT!

He is still a badass guy and lord of the bass. (Figuratively speaking of course...)

  • Les Claypool would make sheehan his Beotch!!! and Les doesnt need Xenu to do it !! hahaha

  • Les Claypool couldn't shine Bill's shoes. Claypool is a retard on bass. Les can not play bass.

Les is to Bass Guitar what Scientology is to Billy.

  • @tsallen10

I'm not a les fan either but to say that he can not play bass is more than a little silly

  • @tsallen10 this statement proves that you are retarded. and scientology is a lot to billy. so you are saying that les lends a lot to bass guitar? what a dumbass.

  • Claypool couldn't shine Billy's shoes.

Claypool is to bass guitar what Scientology is to Sheehan: Nothing Much.

  • IMagine how this interview would have gone with Tom Cruise as the interviewee. LMAO!

  • read steve fishman lonely squirrel, in there he talks about how he was used to infiltrate critics and was pretending to be normal. he was a loony and extremely criminal but it sows how scientologists think.

  • lonesome squirrel, sorry

  • ahhh dammit... billy sheehan lying... thats fuckin sad to me... i dont get how scientology gets the people to do this

  • I know nothing about Scientology, but I have to applaud Billy Sheehan for respectfully defending his own personal belief system and having the patience to try and answer questions he really shouldn't have to.

  • Scientology or not, that's not a way to talk to someone. They treated Billy with such disrespect as a human being, especially that pathetic low-life piece of trash with the mask.

  • Well, people are angry. The guy with the mask nearly blew it, which would have been too bad. This interview rocks. It shows a different kind of Scientologist: Caring, gentle, respectful. He never used any of this "religious freedom" argument, he stayed constructive: He clearly is one of the good guys.

I would have loved to see more talk between the parties involving him, but I'm sure he went to ethics for this.

  • I don't think anyone but the guys in the masks were disrespectful of Billy. I don't think Billy told anything he believes to be lies. He's confused and naive to a point, but that's his belief. Let him believe whatever he likes.

I think the people talking to him are just trying to show him why they think what they do. The guys in the masks are just stirring up trouble where they can, fuck them. The other two aren't disrespectful at all, I think they were giving debate with mutual respect.

  • @gordonS2 Exactly, what an arse-hole.

  • @gordonS2 Sheehan has money, he joined a club cult with other people that have a lot of money. That's what people with money do, join up together against the rest of us without and far less. Is that NOT obvious??? Why? I support his right to do as he does here in this clip, but have lost respect do to his ignorance. no sweat off my balls.

  • @gordonS2 Agreed. "You're on acid, dude." What a jerk.

  • @gordonS2 You may have a point, but these media personalities have great treatment from the scientology. All these scilons will do anything for them, even apparently paint their motorcycles...

These media stars simply have to ask themselves about the slave labour, the child labour, and decide if the nice treatment is really worth it, if it comes at such a price.

This "it works for me and that's all that matters" - line just seems incredibly selfish. Success based on others' enslavement? NO!

  • @LRonScarface You're 100% right; the celebrity $cientologists get treated like royalty so they have no idea what it's actually like living at the bottom (where most scientologists live) and they would never be subjected to the abuse that the others get. they're kept happy because they have money and fame. But do you think someone like Tom Cruise would ever be sent to the RPF? NEVA! So it's quite easy for them just to say oh, that's not true, that doesn't happen, and, hey it's working for me!

  • @gordonS2 ur right man... i sent a long email to the mr big fansite when i recently found out billy was a scientologist and alot of it was me sounding off. but i do wander what makes nice people (including mr cruise whos got alot of bad rap since being so active in the so called 'church' of scientology) and in billys case (so far exclusively among the high profile members) seemingly intelligent people buy into Mr Hubbard's "writings"?! and why do they use the crucifix if it means nothing 2 them?

  • @gordonS2 i second that

  • and by the WAY ...that's BILLY FUCKING SHEEHAN you are talking to, FUCKHEAD!

  • @gordonS2 I play bass, and Billy is one of my bass heroes! I disagree with scientology but I respect Billy's way of handling himself here. You said 'THEY' treated him w/ disrespect. I'd say the cameraman and the guy with the red sign were respectful, while the guy in the mask WAS not. He wouldn't let Billy speak. Now, it sounds to me like Billy admitted that they were changed AFTER he said they weren't. Either way, the masked dude was being a douchebag, indeed. Shame on him.

  • I have no doubt that Scientology has helped some, just as being "Saved" has others. I DO KNOW that once a belief system is high-jacked by an oppressive bureaucracy laden with jargon that is not accessible to each of its practitioners and only shared once payment has cleared and comprised of select internal groups.... that's when things become subversive and DANGEROUS! Man has free will and is capable of rational thought. Scientology kills; Bank Accounts, Free thought, Free Speech and PEOPLE!

  • i don't know what "scientology" has to say about this, but Einstein NEVER failed at math, infact, he was well above his peers through school.

  • In college and probably high school he was, in grade school it's a common fact that he failed math. Letter grades don't determine anything. He probably failed it because he was so much above it he didn't bother.

  • From Walter Isaacsons biography of Einstein:

' In 1935, a rabbi in Princeton showed him a clipping of Ripleys column with the headline Greatest Living Mathematician Failed in Mathematics.

Einstein laughed, I never failed in mathematics, he replied correctly. Before I was fifteen I had mastered differential and integral calculus. '

  • Even though he is cought lying, he is the first scientologist I ever see behaving like a human an not like a brainwashed monkey

  • For Khafrad, I think the core issue is that Scientologists dismiss these "four or five of the same things that keep getting mentioned" without addressing those four or five points.

The comparison is often made between Scientology's abuses and those in the Catholic church - one of the key differences though is that the Church of Scientology has made various forms of abuse a matter of policy, rather than them simply being about one or two rogue church members.

  • I think Scientologists for the most part ignore the bad parts of Scientology and focus on self improvement, because you can't follow the road of self improvement at the same time as researching the bad thingsabout Scientology with an open mind.

  • What bad things? The same 5 things that have been used as examples over and over and over?

  • Yeah, you only extorte and threaten any opposition to the church, it's not five examples only (because there are many more examples), it is your practice, ethics and brainwashing that people don't agree with. Face it, it's at best a cult and at worst a crime syndicate, there's no way that the pyramid scheme of scientology can ever be considered a religion.

  • He may be brainwashed, but at least he seems like a nice guy. If all scientologists were as friendly and open about Co$ as Billy was, then it probably wouldn't be so ridiculed

  • "If all scientologists were as friendly and open about Co$ as Billy was, then it probably wouldn't be so ridiculed"

So many people have said that. It's true. The problem is, Sheehan is violating some of Hubbard's instructions, here. What makes him so much more likable than other $cilons is precisely that he isn't a "good" one in terms of adhering to elRong's dogma. He's good (to us) because he's bad (to them). We approve, but they would say he's "out ethics"!

  • What?

  • A lot of us, when approached nicely and with a chance to speak ourselves without being reminded of things that happened 10-30 years ago that only concern the few involved with those specific incidents. A few catholic leaders were convicted of sex crimes, does that mean that millions of Catholics are perverts?

  • Our Government exists by the "fair game" policy...why can't a church?

  • Props to billy for staying so calm and reasonable throughout this whole thing. He's still my hero despite being in the cult.

  • "Ron is only what my opinion of him is."

    - Billy Sheehan, 2008

That single quote says IT ALL. Great video. Sheehan is a robot.

  • Hubbard was not perfect, but he came up with a lot of great stuff. People wine about McPherson all the time, it's sad when somebody die, but it was a misstake for Christ's sake. If those deaths would happen every week I would start to worry. Get some perspective. Why do Anonymous and Mark Bunker focus on the bad stuff about scientology all the time? Those bad things are only a couple of percent of the entire scientology, the rest is good. They focus on the wrong things and should get audited.

  • The handling of Lisa McPherson was no mistake. They talked her into checking herself out of the hospital and assured the doctor they would care for her. The Scientologists locked her in a room for 17 days as she suffered a psychotic break and on the day she died, passed nearby hospitals to take her to a distant hospital where a Scientology doctor was on staff. She was dead on arrival.

"Why focus on the banking crisis when my ATM card still works," is essentially what you are asking.

  • Cont. Well, if you fixed the bad stuff, no one would protest Scientology at all.

Shut down the RPF, stop disconnection, stop the fraud and abuse and you'll be treated just as well as those in the Freezone.

No one bothers the Freezone (except David Miscavige) because they hurt no one.

  • MARK, THANK u FOR EXPOSING THE TRUTH AND YOUR HARD WORK

  • They never mentioned which books were edited or altered.

    Does anyone know which ones?

  • Check the post above yours. :)

But, beyond that, that's a great subject for someone to do a vid about....

  • Ppl, composure and Billy being a "nice guy," which I, too, think he is has nothing to do with the fact that he doesn't know what he's talking about & that books HAVE BEEN edited -BiG NO NO in $cn according to LRH who IS "source!" As 1 major ex., there's a PDC tape where Lron says he killed this American General in his past life as a Brit in this battle but then in the glossary it states this General (forget the name) served in Congress & outlived this battle. This reference was REMOVED by DM!

  • In the same PDC tape, eLron states the use of Black Dianetics & Black $cn would make 1984 pale in comparison & actually makes a reference as if he KNEW & was talking about what's happening right now with David Misscatbitch. Davie took that one out too. He COMPLETELY REMOVED a whole paragraph & a half. This is, of course, minor stuff compared to all the HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES, the forced abortions, ppl workin 100-130 hrs a wk for yrs & makin $1000 A YR! The deaths due to neglect & $cn being a $SCAM!

  • what composure billy had.but that church has alot of explaining to do.

  • Thats because he is lying

  • While I don't completely understand or agree with what I do understand about Scientology, I think Billy's composure during the converstaion was remarkable. He handled duchebage mask guy very well. He should go into politics.

It's interesting to note that his body language tells almost as much as his words in this interview.

  • Yeah, V-mask dude is a douchbag. Hah, what a dumbfuck.

  • I agree. I believe Billy Sheehan is sincere in his errors and the guy in the mask does critics of the "Church" of Scientology no favors by being a dick to him.

  • come on billy! you're too badass and too intelligent to be a scientologist lol!!

man but that dude in the v mask was a real douche!!

  • Totally agree with you bro. Billy is still my hero though.

  • The way I see it is: If Billy had to buy all the books again only to realize that there are no changes then surely that is just a money making scam. If there are changes then... well who made or decided to change LRHs words ... and why... it either works or it doesn't !

  • Love and respect no matter what your religion Billy. xox

  • Billy might be a great bass guitarist, but he doesn't act like a superstar in this interview - he's all hunched over hiding behind his picket sign, and his facial skin is all saggy like he's crumbling away from within. And he has a strange affectation - keeps making weird shapes with his mouth.

  • Who's the bigger loser here...billy sheehan who believes in scientology or the idiot in the mask who has devoted his life to scientology...spends a lot of his time trying to prove it wrong...when he doens't even believe in it...what a tool. His life is devoted to something he doesn't believe in what a joke

  • Absolutely, friend. Perfect. Nothing but a joke indeed!!

  • Do you want me to point out what's incredibly wrong with your argument?

  • Go ahead. Prove it wrong. Anyone who thinks less of someone over their religion is ignorant. So what if the literal context doesnt make any sense, if it makes them better people then WHO CARES. It's none of your business anyway.

I dont believe in scientology - but the book is the same as the Bible. I mean, does anyone actually believe we're here because Satan disguised as a snake convinced a woman to eat an apple?

  • yep

  • yeah, they do believe that. then they vote, and make decisions for our lives, so yes, i do care about religion.

i love billy sheehan, but damn, this is just bad.

  • Just observe one thing in there, Billly despite being polite and trying to answer every question he possibly can, he is attacked and it doesnt look like they want to know what's Billy's truth about it but rather trying to impose their opinions on to him particularly when they start saying HE DOESENT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT.

  • Every question he possibly can? They question is why should there be questions he is not allowed to answer?

Should a church ever force it's members into silence over their beliefs?

  • Comments in the first part of the video: There are certain things he has made an agreement with. Then he says NO to the question "except OT3." But he defintely confirms something about OT3 that "it can be CONFUSING and UPSETTING for someone to get involved in something that is further long than they happen to be at the present time". He is just being true to himself. What looked hideous was the GUY in the MASK. That was not polite at all.

  • Ah, but agreeing to keep the con going does not help mankind. He can't talk about OT3 because Scientology wants to keep it secret from new and lower level members. They don't want anyone to see the lunacy until they are in, indoctrinated and handing over all their cash.

    Cult.

  • namin,

the guy with the camera had a good dialogue with Billy.

  • tht was probably the most civil scientoligist Mark has spoken to yet.

I had massive respect for Billy, but now Im not so sure...

  • well done billy!!

Billy is a man, that keeps his integrity well.

He did very well to keep his composure.

People are allowed to believe what they want. Why dont you leave these people alone!

  • this is gonna sound hypocritical of myelf but no problems with the people it's the way the cult charges for religion and the fact that they brainwash we don't bother those in the freezone

  • "People are allowed to believe what they want. Why dont you leave these people alone!"

Yeah, really. I mean it's not like he went to a big group of anti-Scientology protesters carrying a sign saying "I'm a Scientologist" and offering to talk to them, or anything.

  • typical $cilion dancing round the question..... fuck this old no talent hack ...."i have checked every old copy versues the new books" I need boots because the shit is getting high

  • Billy is not an "old no talent hack". He's one of the best bass players out there and, even though he's a $ci, I respect the hell out of him. Hopefully he'll realize all of the facts being presented to him are true and leave the cult.

  • yes he is an old no talent hack who got fucking brainwashed if i ment him i'd be cordial but i would state my oppinon. remember oppinon's are like assholes everyones got one and they all stink

  • Wtf is wrong with the a-hole in the mask? You DO NOT tell Billy Sheehan of all people that he is on acid!

  • Agreed. Its also not the best way to try and get a point across, no matter how much you disagree with a Scientologist, you're better off trying to handle the conversation as politely as possible.

  • Who really cares. You're all being a bunch of hypocrits. You'll laugh at one religion's belief and once yours is attacked you throw tantrums. I dont believe in scientology, or any other religion for the literal context it envelops. This Xenu stuff really isnt that much more farfetched than us being alive because a woman was convinced to eat an apple by a snake. Religion has one purpose, and that purpose is to guide people and reassure them. If it makes them better people then who cares?!

  • The people who are being enslaved, killed, and separated from their families by this cult care. Those of us watching those crimes being committed also care, if we have compassion for others.

It's not the religion which is being protested. It's the organization comitting crimes which is being protested.

  • Isn't this all any religion is? All religions cause death and crime.

  • Mmmkay.

If that wasn't a rhetorical question, let me know.

  • *Lets you know.

  • OK. The answer is no. A real religion is formed around a core set of beliefs about man, "meaning", God(s), the supernatural, etc.. Adherents are happy when people want to know about their beliefs and are glad to explain them, in the hopes of enlightening others. Cults OTOH have a different set of characteristics, including some or all of: single charismatic leader, beliefs/practices offensive to the mainstream of society, violations of human rights, mind control, (cont'd)...

  • (cont'd - part 2)

communication control, relationship control, aggressive financial predation, secret doctrines, and more. Categorically, a religion is a belief system; a cult is an organization.

It isn't Scientology as a belief system (to the extent that it is one, or that its beliefs can be separated from the Cof$) which is the target of Anon+OG anger. It's the organization called the "Church of Scientology" which is both a cult and an extremely aggressive corporate financial predator.

  • I think I'll state now that I in no way support scientology or believe in any of it. But really if it is making its followers happier in any way then it is obviously doing something good for them or they wouldn't believe it. Who are we to say they are wrong?

Billy Sheehan has had more success than any of us ever will so who are we as people to say he is wrong about anything.

  • Billy Sheehan is so convoluted that he actually discredits court records and legal documentation. He also goes on to say that medical documents and the claims of thousands of individials are not true. The most sad thing is that he believes all of it. This further proves the brainwashing effects of Scientology. These people are living in a reality that is created at the behest of their leader. Scientology enslaves the mind and this is proof.

  • If they are happy in that reality who cares...that's all any religion is, not just scientology.

  • I am a Steve Vai fan too and I totally agree with you.

  • The interviewer is very civil, but some of the Anons, especially the "you don't know what you're talking about guy" come off as cynical and make Billy look like a victim (atleast in my eyes). I completely support Anonymous and despise Scientology's leaders and corruption, but this probably wasn't the best person for nor the best way to conduct this interview.

  • Just to let you know, he is one of the ex-Scientologist critics. His name is Tommy Gorman. And he also has tons of great Youtube videos. Far as I know, he's not technically an Anonymous, but I do know what you mean. He does come off a little strong, but that's just his style. :)

  • ooops, please ignore my comment, i misread your comment, i thought you were talking about tommy. lol. sorries! :)

  • I don't understand why anyone can take that one guy seriously. Someone immature enough to butt into a conversation saying "You're on acid" and not consider someone else's view is pathetic. Even if religions are a load of bollocks they still help a lot of people through the hard times, so I can understand why they're offended and will stick up for their religion when people attack it. I guarantee you that the catholic church has committed 100x more crimes than scientology has.

  • if all scientologists acted like this they would probably be more respected.

  • Finally,

Each time i post a comment when it comes to responding to Scientology attacks i always as those who have questions to please ask me and i will answer then to the best of my ability. Send me your comments and questions i would welcome them, many have sent them and i look forward to more.

Thank you........let us work to together and with no malice.

  • I do have a question for you: can you demonstrate any unusual powers or abilities you've acquired from your pursuit of Scientology? According to the teachings of Hubbard, you should be able to far outstrip us wogs in pretty much everything, yet I see no evidence of an OT tidal wave blasting through society. To put it quite bluntly, you all seem retarded rather than enhanced by your immersion into Hubbard's realm.

So, beyond subjective feelings, what evidence do you have of your superiority?

  • If Anon is generally concerned then this is fine, when you are having discussions and respectfully disagreeing then this is fine as well. i do however believe that a line should be drown when insults become the focus and not discussing. I am OT 5 my wife OT4 and we have no malice when others insult our faith and practice. i am grateful to live in a country where you do have the right to believe as you will, and speak freely. let us not abuse it.

  • i always thought that anon was suppose to "help" get people out of Scientology, so how is insulting someone saying someone is on an acid trip. personally to me it sounds more like insult rather than concern, its not reform but retaliation. my wife and i are Scientologists and we have all the new Basics, and Congresses, and we didnt have to buy them, we wanted to. and im here to say that if David Miscavige did add to the books then hey he did a good job, i also have the originals as well.

  • @5:40, Billy said, "L. Ron was just a man."

Well, Jesus was just a God. Who do you want to follow? A man or a God?

  • DKHellsing is so right!

  • What's weird is that that is definitely _not_ how the cult regards him. Sheehan is way, way off their script on that one.

  • The right to adopt a belief system (righteous or kaka) is God-given and must be respected. Those who believe Scientology is not inline with the Truth may challenge the philosophy on it's merits. That is civilized behavior. Though I find Scientology philosophy a weak set of conjured constructs, non-spiritual, I applaud Sheehan who spoke honestly and from the heart. The others in this video should make better use of their time.

  • "The others in this video should make better use of their time."

Do you know them? IMO they make great use of their time; check out Mark's 2 hour interview of Jason Beghe, for example. Or pretty much any video from him, Tory or Tommy. This interview is easily misconstrued if not viewed in context of the battle to stop the Cof$'s human rights abuses.

  • that anon who said he was on acid is the type of anon that makes us look like harrasing terrist just like the CO$ calls us

  • i got to say he keeps his cool a lot better than i think most would, not saying i agree with him or his beliefs but.. he did handel himself well considering

  • if all scientologists were this approachable and honest nobody would have a problem with them. too bad too, sheehan rocks. the one anon who jumps in..."you must be on acid, dude...", "its not a matter of disagreement youre just wrong"... "NO NO NO you dont know what youre talking about"... really just makes himself look like an ass. thats the problem with too many anons, they take away credibility from the movement. you gotta be intelligent about this, not just recite website quotes.

  • nice to be rude to one of the greatest musicians of this century who happens to be humble and warm.

    Live and let live man!

find something else to do then hassle others for their beliefs.

  • he is a nice guy. he trys hard... poor brain washing it has effected him so badly. dw anon will help him:D

  • that poor guy is fucked when OSA sees that. this will prove interesting.

  • Sheehan seems like an honest man... misinformed... but honest. The Anonymous are just douches to him.

  • Billy isn't a douchebag.

    L. Ron is.

  • Billy is much different than the majority of the scientologist out there. I'm glad he kept his unlike the ones who NEED drugs.

  • Poor Billy. I'm NOT anything near a scientologist but it pisses me off that we live in a world where someone cannot have their own beliefs without being constantly scrunized by everyone around them. Calling this an interview is a joke, the people that are interviewing are supposed to show a free disposition and a neutral respect. Screw these guys.

  • its more of a debate, but the two sides are being respectful to each other, and thats great. its not one person yelling at the other not listening to them. and its wierd that hes so mellow about all this. most scifags are pissy all the time.

  • He went out there to the protest with a sign basically saying he was willing to talk, he should of expected it. They are not even talking about the religion, they are talking about the corruption of its leaders. He handled it well, so why get pissed off?

  • He came out to discuss his beliefs. Mark Bunker was very respectful of him, it wasn't an attack on him.

  • "I will discuss anything except the things i cannot discuss"

    huh?

  • He is on his way to doing a real sincere Doubt Condition formula.

  • I've heard Einstein failing math is an urban legend.

I hear he failed on meth.

  • Take my word on this, Billy is a super nice guy. I know him, and I consider him a friend. and I'm not a Scientologist.

  • I liked the "you're on acid, dude" comment!

Pretty nice interview. Even tough he doesn't have his facts right. And he should really stop lying.

  • more respectful and a gentleman but he has NO idea what he is talking about. He is blinded.

I'm willing to say he could even make his own branch of 'Scientology'... since his views and thoughts are completly different than what scifags really follow.

  • I never thought burning books was a good idea until I watched this video.
