  • Never mind the coins, could someone please explain the whole thing? Why does half the characters behave like they're mentally challenged? What's up with all the intentional anachronisms? Why has Caravaggio been upgraded from his usual sword wielding, foul tempered, pederast self to this reasonably decent, poetry spurting cowboy version? And why did they think it would be a good idea to process all the paintings through some sort of expressionist tumbledryer before allowing them onto the set?

  • Could someone please explain the whole coins in Sean's mouth thing? I'm not quite sure that I understand. Thank you! :)

  • @BAM1Music That loin cloth he was wearing didn't exactly have pockets .. did it (LOL)? It implies that the relationship between Caravaggio & Ranuccio is strictly based on money .. until he offers the last piece of gold in his mouth, daring him to get that intimate with him.

  • @Astraea52 Thank you! That really helps!! :)

  • 3:24 to 7:14...I love that whole scene! I don't get why he keeps putting the coins in his mouth, but I think it's a funny and cute.

  • I've watched this once and I didn't understand it, but I just thought of the coin part again and had to watch it. Love that part!

  • WTF..NIck CArter 5:17 AHAHA

and hes probs eating coins becuase they are actually chocolate inside :P

  • the lighting in this movie is sick

its just like his paintings. ;)

  • I´m a horsekeeper - GREAT HORSE!

  • @HogwartsCastle

Sorry, but have to disagree lol. Hottest Sean Bean moment of all time would have to be 6:50-7:00! =D

  • Why is he putting coins in his mouth??

  • I've watched a few parts of this movie and it Makes no sense to me whatsoever But I will say that caravaggio's paintings are masterful

  • it suppose to take place in the 17th century, the scenary looks all wrong...and the clothes

  • They are not mistakes; as they are so clear to everybody - people who smoke a cigarette in the 17th century? - consider that Derek Jarman just WANT to introduce modern elements in an historical drama.

  • The young boy holding the reflector is caravaggios adopted son.

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • who is the young boy who is holding up the bronze reflector? is he a younger version of Caravaggio or is he his lover?

  • This scene was pretty damn hot.

  • why did Sean put the coin in his mouth?

  • is this censored??

  • it's the better movie of an artist

  • you mean the BEST?

  • ... Two of the scenes in this part are my favourite ones in tehe entire movie. The first being the one with the horse and the red flag, the other one being the "almost kiss" between Caravaggio and Ranuccio...#

I really think the movie is great. It is almost as sensual as Caravaggio's works.

  • i didnt know caravaggio was gay...oh well his still one of my 2 favorite artists.. the other one is salvador dali..

  • Me too!!!!!!!! Great..................

  • hmmm more sean please (*_*) yam
