A truly impressive sight and sound. One advantage of amature film is that you don't get darn commentators butting in, as with the Edinburgh Tattoo on tv. Except, that is, for that guy's mom in the other clip - she should work for the BBC in Scotland.
@jrybialek Yes, every August. Google "Hunter Mountain Celtic Festival" for details. I tried posting a link, but it appears YouTube does not allow that.
Oh thank christ SOOO much better than that other vid with the gys mom blathering on and on...well I understand that there is a Scottish vote for independance coming up this year so pehaps we'll have a truely FREE country soon I'm going to ask for a Scottish passport if they will have me
most of scotland doesnt want indipendence from britain,we have been through 2 world wars and countless other wars helping each other out,and we will continue to do so
No, they was supposed to scare the enemy. Imagine a couple of hundreds Scotts with bagpipes and drums, they'd scare the shit out of the english soldiers :P
The only downside to this awesome site is the way the bands are set up...theres incomplete ranks etc, should do what we do in Scotland and fill em up with pipers from larger bands. Looks smarter.
WOW...I'm only Scottish and Irish mixed with Dutch and a little bit of Choctaw Native American blood in me, and your comment made ME proud to have the Scottish and Irish blood in me!!!! \m/
You know this is a great video but what really ticks me off as a Piper is when Prats like the inconsiderate yellow and green colored tops, couple standing in the middle of the bands pathway, think it is ok to stuff everyone up by remaining on the field.
This happened to me on St Pats Day last year and one photographer ended up on his back when his face met my knee.
fantastic video it shows how the defending army would feel to see the army coming over the hill, with the band playing first!! , it is intamadating, it's only the band tho0, it's easy now, it's only the first sonet!!

dude... Scotland the Brave kind of gives it away. and aye.... even the Romans said we were the fiercest, untamed people they encountered.

don't worry, we celtic peoples have always had to fight for our culture. Celtic and Gaelic pride !
