  • "Keep the circus going inside you, keep it going, don't take anything too seriously, it'll all work out in the end."

    David Niven

  • David Niven was a great actor

  • very impressing, that man: a legend of brittish style, language, attitude... a true gentleman and fantastic actor!

  • Thank you for this beautiful video! Only in my fantasies do men such as David Niven live ... anymore.

  • wasn't Niv the coolest guy ever ?

Never a bad performance and the sort of guy that you could listen to for hours

  • He's the epitome of gorgeousness :)

  • He was something else, wasn't he? Thanks for this. x

  • Just finished watching Wuthering Heights.....never saw him that young until tonight. He was quite handsome, but grew more so as he aged. Great actor!

  • he was my great uncle!

  • A true English Gentleman and a Great Actor

  • anything but...read the books see below kirangopal's recommendations

  • He was a splendid actor - suave & sophisticated. They sadly don't make actors or people like him anymore!

  • @marcus2x2 being English always impeccibly dressed. he would be 100 years old this year

  • Ta!

  • Both the books by Niven are indeed 'freakin funny'

    The Moon's a Balloon.

    Bring on the Empty Horses.

    'The Brain' - hilarious movie.

  • have you seen "Ask Any Girl"? Can you post more scenes of it on youtube?

  • I love David Niven and Shirley MacLaine! A beautiful tribute!

  • He's a legend and a will never be forgotten. Thanks for this great tribute.

  • He always called himself the world's biggest chicken. But when WWII broke out he quit Hollywood and went back to England. He became a Colonel of the commandoes. The Special Forces of its day. He never talked about the war. Ever.

  • 5 stars, perfect tribute to an unforgettable gentleman.

  • Elegância...charme...que homem, que ator maravilhoso!

  • Lovely video, lovely man...I just saw "The moon is blue", and I suddently remebered how much I like David Niven...Thank you! :)

  • bring on the empty horses

    the moons a balloon

    freakin funny

    read them

  • We miss him and thank you

  • I am the biggest fan after I read The Moon's a Balloon! I laughed myself stupid all the way through! Wish I met him.

  • Great job, loved Niven!!!So talented,so sauve, charming and sexy!!!! Wish more men were like that today, some of them are clueless what class is.

  • Nice one.

The Chap magazine view DN as a shining beacon of what a chap can truly aspire to - style, wit, urbane sophistication but without really trying.

  • Sweet. I loved him and his books. He's

on my list of 10 persons I'd want to have

dinner with. Please Don't Eat the Daisies

    is my antidote to stress.

There is also a great book out about him that he did not write but the end is

    heartbreaking...just his daughter with him

    when he died.

  • ....my first crush and someone I would have loved to have met - read all his books - so funny! He did so much during the WW2 as well - so a real hero not just on screen.

  • Absolutely!

He was a true hero! In fact he received medals too, so he was a brave kind of man. And considering the sad childhood he has... he was a good man after all.

He won an award for the "best collaborative actor" (besides an Oscar and other awards), so he was a cutie!

  • Hi - I am a huge Niv fan - I have 63 films, plus memorabilia. Loveley!

  • Awesome tribute! I like David Niven: he was an english gentleman, from head to feet! And he was so sexy...he deserved much more fame than he had. In some films where he is costarring and he has not the prime role, if I where the girl, I know who I would have chosen!!!

  • Ditto Anna!!

How could anyone choose some little silly actor instead of David Niven?

ie. "The Moon is Blue" (1953). He was playing some sort of a gigoló (?) role there... but even in that case he was sooo cute!

  • Gee.. it´s hard to belive, (but I do :)

That´s pretty amazing! Did you know him? They say he was a very good person. It´s hard to find out there stuff about him.

ie. Cary Grant is everywhere, but Mr. Niven is not an easy find!

I would love to know more about him!!

  • im in ''family'' with him, or my grandmas sister was married with him, im not kidding!

  • yeah, he usually played brittish gentleman roles... a bit stiffy, but with the heart in the right place, those ones were really cute comedies...

  • This is a nice tribute. David Niven seemed like a lovely guy.
