nice 205t, 30" monitor! i have only one doubt! ive read that the resolution of this monitor is 2560x1600 and pixel pitch of .27mm, that makes 81.5cm or 32.1" viewable screen!
@pcfix411 Actually My setup is totally changed now - The monitor went into a total Green screen (it was defective) so they are still (which has been 4 months) trying to send me a check for the damn monitor. But now I have a 52' samsung TV which connects up to the computer as well.
The Resolution 2560x1600 was nice (no doubt) but in till Windows/Mac get a nice UI setup for icon/images/text scaling for higher resolutions - it's strongly not recommended (very hard read text).
@Belson20 agree - but It's great for designers, I used alot of Adobe Programs on it and your real estate space was just massive. Also watching movies and playing games was just stunning (from how a monitor's color can produce a pixel) But any type of newer game takes a 2** series GPU card if you want to be playing at 2560x1600.
I suggest now a days only 1920x1200 max unless your a intense designer or stock trader (and for the price *$1,120*, you can pick up 3-4 screens with higher real estate)
I can only imagine how low quality vids(divx, xvid etc) or even sd DVDs would look like at this res. I also wonder about how "thin" windows' interface would be at 2560X1600.
I want this monitor so bad but they don't sell it in my pathetic little shame of a country and importing it would cost too much.
The annoying thing is I've already got a series 5 ati graphics card but havn't got this monitor to match :(
well all the conversations I had with reps with samsung on that product - it seems because of the high resolution - the output heat from the monitor makes the lifespan very short (which mine went out in about a year). It was an awesome monitor but very demanding and not reliable. I believe Dell, Apple and HP also have 2560x1600 res ones. I would only suggest this resolution monitor to graphic designers and day traders. (i rarely played 2560x1600 on games, very demanding on GPU card)
laptops wouldnt be a good suggestion for this monitor - you will need a somewhat high-end video card to handle this resolution depending on what you will be using your computer for. Even like Adobe software takes a bit of my GPU. You can try it, but I don't recommend it.
Thanks for posting this video i will add a video when i get my unit from newegg i wanted to see a live shot of the 305t I'm going to be running it @ Maximum Resolution 2560 x 1600 on the xfx 9600 gt Thanks andrew
well im using my Sharp Aqous 32Inch ( for dumbells thats 81 cm ) and my pc is 3ghz core 2 duo , 2 gig ddr2 ram , asus p5n mx ( x series ) , asus engf8006t 512 ddr2 and btw vermino kick ass setup and i only got my first gaming rig last week and so far its the best
very nice - only one thing you might want to invest in is a monitor.. TV's are nice but monitors will have the brillient colors and crispiness compared to a TV. yeah, rigs are soo nice to have because you can ALWAYS O/C them when they become outdated. laptops are a bit of a pain. but congratz on your gaming rig.. hope you built it because that's the fun part of computers.
I actually meant the screen itself cannot decode the blue-ray signal as in it cannot read and wont display 1080p as it isn't HDCP compliant so when sent a HD signal from your console or a blue ray stand alone player it wont be in 1080p when it leaves the screen
na - wouldnt want it wireless.. i've used wirelss keyboards and the batteries die ALL the time. i've thought of a second wireless keyboard for the bed but thinking a touch screen on a wall mount swing might be a better idea.
I just got a 1080p Sony XBR 32" it cost like $1,199. It was hands down the best looking television on the floor, and they said they just got it. I think it is the best television I have ever viewed. I got $100 off a PS3 for buying the television at the same time. SO I picked up some bluerays... amazing!!!
yeah I do love Sony - but my next tv is a Samsung LN52A650A 52" - it's about $1,099 and i've heard good things about it. But there is no doubt Sony makes a beautiful TV. It's just after i've seen my Samsung 305T screen, I have to see how their TV's are. good luck with your new Sony and PS3. wish i had 1080P (still 1080i right now)
XBR's are the best of sony's... S series are still nice - but if you want something elegant on your wall, you gotta get a XBR4 or XBR5.. i know mine is outdated but just dont have the money to throw at another TV right now.. there are other bands that can compare to sony. just google "LCD reviews" and educate yourself before you buy.. both sonys are good, but you are buying a brand name - remember that.
well you need vista first off - then just google "dreamscape" and there ya go.. i usually go to wincustomize dot com to pick up new .dreams like the one you see in this video..
it's nice, but from what i hear - it cant run AA very well.. plus the price-tag is kind-of up there.. i tried to go with price/performance ratio - if i didnt, i would have 2 or 3 ultra's on the MOBO haha
well the samsung blow the XBR out of the water when using them as a monitor.. (i have the XBR has an external monitor for more resoultion) the 305T has way more vivid colors not even tweaking it. But 305T was one of the best buys i've ever did. the new XBR's are nice but your never going to get image quality like a PC monitor has.
pink floyd is the shit haha...and awesome computer..how much was the monitor? im thinkin about building a custom computer next year, now my project is saving up for alienware's new laptop, awesome rig tho
for business and somewhat pleasure. but i settled down alittle bit and the laptop wasnt doing it - If your not a real Nomad, then screw the laptop. I payed $4,000 (with warrenty) on my laptop 4 years ago and now i barely use it for Intra-day trading. it turned into my "black book". But anyways, save up and buy all the compenents at once - REMEMBER TO SHOP AROUND. (i saved $500 from going to mwav, pcnation, newegg, zipzoomfly) so always shop around
