That was very much awesome! It very much captures the feel of the song... the imagery, tone, even the color palatte...
I hope you have kept on with animation making (haven't yet looked at your profile), because this was - I say again - very much awesome.
I do believe the tune was a thinly veiled commentary on his relationship with Warner Brother's Records who had either just dropped him or were about to... but I can't remember exactly where I came by that assumption.
Alice Cooper writes his songs based on dreams and real life. He used to be an alcholic, I think he still holds the record for drinking the most in one day and not dying... anyway the Dada album is based on his time in a mental institute he put himself into when he realised what he was doing to himself. Just listen to the song Dada.
DaDa is one of the scariest albums to me. Listening to it always makes me feel like I'm the part of the excellent Alice's chiller. Especially, Former Lee Warmer, DaDa, Pass The Gun Around are quite scary. Those lyrics and melodies always get me.
@aliciabrooke1000 I know he doesn't remember Zipper Catches Skin, Special Forces, and DaDa because it's during the time he relapsed back into alcoholism before ultimately conquering it before The Nightmare Returns tour, but I can't remember off the top of my head if Flush the Fashion was one of those "blackout" albums or not. There's some really great stuff on DaDa and Flush the Fashion, but I don't really care for Zipper or Special Forces.
@thornebush5 It was a bit sad but funny too listening to Alice saying "I don't remember recording Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin and DaDa... yeah, I remember DaDa a little bit.
It's quite interesting opinion from you, I think. I mean that you don't care about Zipper and Forces. I think, especially on Zipper, there is one of the best-sounding and excellent stuff. Well, nice to know about the others' opinions.
I really like Zoro's Ascent off of Zipper, but I never got as into that album as the others. I honestly think it's because by the time I got around to getting that album and Special Forces, a lot of events in my life sort of left a bad taste in my mouth about everything I experienced in that time period whereas the year before when I was getting into Alice, everything was really positive and I have fond memories of listening to Alice in that period.
I totally agree with you - "Zorro's Ascent" is one of the best pieces ever made by him (solo career). Maybe dare I say, "Zorro's Ascent" reaches the amazingness of the songs from ACGroup in my chart. Well, it explained me a lot, I mean, those things you wrote. Lot of good music and listening to it, bye! And I forgot to say - amazing video for this song!
@thornebush5 Think you. I tought those were it but wasnt for sure. I havent really heard Special Forces but I have a little bit of Da Da.I do like Zipper Catches Skin.
@thornebush5 Yes there have been both good and bad releases over the year, but go back to the special forces LP & give skeletons in the closet a second chance, it is quite humorous to me and on the zipper catch's skin LP make that money really reflects how corrupt a lot of people are, that money is everything and pokes a little harmless fun at those anal retentive types and our are represntatives we elected who are now in DC until they balance the budget and not be so greedy and self centered.
@thornebush5 Yeah, in my honest opinion, the only tracks really worth a damn for me on Zipper is 'I Am The Future', and even that is a little 'meh'. The only great song off of Special Forces was 'Look at You Over There' and it want even released!
@GTAfan421 I've never liked this album either, other than the odd song. DaDa is slightly better. However i still don't see how "Steven" fits into it as people had suggested, especially as Alice wasn't of sound mind when he made this.. i doubt he even thought about it.
@MephProduction I like DaDa (though it took a while for me to get into it), and I also like Flush The Fashion even though it is a little weird at times, I also agree in that I don't really see how 'Steven' is really related to this... I don't see a *true* connection myself, though I can see why other Cooper fans would make that connection themselves. 'When Hell Comes Home' touches upon Steven putting a bullet between his abusive fathers eyes.
@GTAfan421 They all have a few great songs but i find them quite hit and miss, DaDa being the best of that period. And the farther issue does pop up in wind-up toy. And thanks to Along Came a spider his decided From the Inside to be part of Steven's legacy. Mind you sometimes the fans just run with it and we come up with our own 'story'
@MephProduction I felt that From The Inside was sort of connected to the Steven character from the day I heard it, but that was just my perspective on the character - it seemed to fit.

I had completely forgotten this album in the vinyl to CD transition - this was one of my brother's that I never replaced on CD. Then a joke at the dinner table in the film 'The Break Up' reminded me of former Lee Warmer - I googled the track and re-discovered the album - it's going on my Amazon wish list!
He hasn't, unfortunately, as DaDa was recorded during his blackout period where he was still attempting to beat his alcoholism. Even though fans love the album and would love to see a live performance, Alice doesn't even remember writing it.
@michaelneub We wished. He is aware as of late how many fans of his love DaDa, but he still hasn't performed anything from it. In fact, I may be wrong, but the only live song from the early 80's he performs (if you're lucky) is "Who do you think we are?" from Special Forces. I was lucky enough to catch him on the "Flush the Fashion" tour in 1980.
@knockup100 I couldn't agree more. And it perhaps it wouldn't have happened that way, had WB been more supportive of Alice in 1982 & 1983... Dada is the hidden masterpiece of 1983, and Alice's most underrated album !
I loved the interpretation you did of this song, DaDa is definately my favourite Alice Cooper album and although Former Lee Warmer is not my favourite song on it (Fresh Blood is by the way), it is still an absolutely brilliant song and a really fantastic storyline. Well done!I really enjoyed it and can't stop watching it. :D
One of truly GREAT Cooper albums of all times. Alice was going through his most turbulent times and his battle with alcohol (read his "Golf Monster" book) Considering the inner turmoil, it's a very troubled album and can be interpreted many ways...which is truly a stroke of genius. Lines like "showers me with all her love" and "She was in for a surprise when she discovered my emotional plurality" You need to listen to this album if you haven't yet. A superb Job on the video!!!!!
This reminds me a lot to a tradition here in Venezuela, AN OLD!!! tradition i think from all the world whe somebody born crazy they let him in a hidden room.... O_O....... Is everywhere i think...
Fantastic!! shame on me for going this long without buying this album, and I call myself a Cooper fan! the video is also superb, I hope Alice will see it someday, I know he'd love you're interpretation of his song, you have a real talent!
I've always interpreted Former Lee Warmer as a play on the words "formerly warmer" - as in - presently cold...or someone who is dead. which is why he never speaks, has arthritic (skeletal) fingers. It always read like a Norman Bates and Mother in Psycho type of story to me. But the split personality interpretation makes sense too.
whatever it is - it's one of Alice's best tunes. he really needs to bring it back and play it live.
it WAS very interesting.ive listened to alot of his songs in my 14 years, and this was one of the first i understood, then again it was one of the first i heard...my dad has told me he played this in his earlier years...when was the last time he played it live?
@skateratcomics That said, I'd love to hear at least some of the songs played live some time. All of them are great and most of them would probably kick major butt if played live.

it s not bad i was like you when i am 15 now i am 27 i can do anything go to an art school read art books think about meanings..everything is meanings this is the point of art and work work work...look at my videos i hope u will be an artist
if im not mistaking, doesn't the main character (alice?) "go hunting for somebody that's right," according to "fresh blood." so i wouldn't think that former lee warmer would kill him, at least yet. nice video though
I listened to the song for a long time before I made the video, pondering just how Former Lee Warmer fit into the story of the album, which is about multiple personalities. I came to the conclusion that Former Lee Warmer doesn't actually exist, but is a part of the main character's multiple identities, hence the lines "in an upstairs room" (the mind) and "I don't want to be Former Lee"(indicating his desire to break away from the personality. That's my interpretation though, I could be wrong.
nice job. this is an obscure Alice album, great song! i bought this when it first came out, i still play it, great songs never die! keep going with the visuals, nice one!
