Actually compared to alot of singer who do live concerts she does the best job of sounding like she does on her cd's. She maybe alittle sharp or flatt in some places but she does a pretty damn good job! Keep it up Taylor!

No, not deaf. Ears are very good. The problem isn't that she's not perfect. I like lots of signers who are far from technically "perfect". Some are outright technically off their heads. "Perfect" is an ambiguous thing to give context. No, the problem is that she's like a piece of stale white bread. Devoid of exception OR flavour.

I think there are far bigger crimes against the ears than Swift. The only reason she drew my attention was because of her sudden slew of accolades, which I found to be the most supreme insult against a host a truly gifted visionaries in the craft, today. I'm not personally affected, merely hurling my own 10 cents. Everyone was arguing about "Gaga shoulda this!", "Beyonce shoulda that", "No really, Swift deserved to" To what? None of them should've been there. It's a cash cow.
I'm all ears when people want to air their thoughts, but I still don't soften my own. With more stage experience, Swift will go from being a rough version of bland, to a polished version of bland. I couldn't say which is more lacking. To be of interest to me, she'd have to be miraculously reborn as an artist. Which means that until that unlikely event occurs she IS of no interest. There's too much of merit to be preoccupied with, rather than what might become of the exalted.
Her songs are like a well made brown coffee table. Make it as sure, and stable, and safe and clean as you like. It's a fucking coffee table. She's channelling archetypal visions of romance, that were pallid to begin with, and packaging them with the paddle-pool depth of a teenage diarist. Really, what is the overarching substance of her work? Teenager, boy, crush, sad, woeisme, boy, I'm pretty/ugly, whachadoingwither? It's unilaterally trite and disposable. Devoid of profundity.
And by that I mean on both levels. Her singing and her lyrics. Sigur Rós as a random example could imbue a random syllable with more compelling expression than her entire written catalogue of cardboard crackers.

But this is country music, like pop the meaning of this music is not about lyrics, complicated instrumental, or a great voice... is about something that could catch everybody. I listen this music to relax myself. As pop singer I think Britney is more interesting (her songs are much better than Taylor's anything). And for real music, I hear Amy Lee from Evanescence (for me this is outstanding but at the same time interesting music).
That's almost equivilent to saying "the purpose of pop is to do nothing interesting". There are many purveyors of "pop" music that imbue their music with rewarding substance within the context of the "pop" form. One of the most recent winners of the Best Album Grammy was a pop album that actually warranted the attention. OutKasts excellent Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. If the selecetions were usually that mindful, they wouldn't be held as such a dismal joke by nearly all peers.

Pop or country, it doesn't matter.............when I listen to country I see plenty of "pop" in it. I'll take Beyonce over her, JLO over her, she doesn't impress me one damn bit. First of all, if she wants to plagarize Romeo and Juliet then how come she doesn't have the dance seen from that movie in this live performance? I mean she might as well continue her plagarisim, she called this song "love story" more like "Romeo and Juliet Parody" I don't like singers that plagiarize movies dance scence and then use it when they're performing on stage. She should've continued that, why stop now?? To many critics perhaps? Good she deserves critics.

She's best new comer for a reason. Her voice definitely is unusual, perhaps she knows how to use it to the best advantage. Her background shows that she has been singing since birth. Decided to this when she's only 10 while we just play games. Furiously devoted, practice 4 hrs a day rigorously; sometimes she don't stop even when her fingers bled. Very focus. It's no matter why she can write all her songs. At 19 this level of accomplishment is deserving of such talent.
I nearly fell over laughing when I heard the "played til my figners bled" line. The only thing she's more mediocre at than singing is playing guitar. I don't even need to outline an opinion on how overrated this "nice girl" is. Time is the enemy of mediocrity, and time is on my side. It will consume her like an anaconda. Her voice is not unusual in any way, other than how blindingly ORDINARY it is. Not only is she a technically weak singer. She's utterly devoid of charisma.

That's almost equivilent to saying "the purpose of pop is to do nothing interesting". There are many purveyors of "pop" music that imbue their music with rewarding substance within the context of the "pop" form. One of the most recent winners of the Best Album Grammy was a pop album that actually warranted the attention. OutKasts excellent Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. If the selecetions were usually that mindful, they wouldn't be held as such a dismal joke by nearly all peers.

Taylor is more pop than country actually, but that's fine by me. Beyonce is a fantastic singer and personality, but JLo or Jenny from the block what???, and Muhammad Ali was perhaps one of the few men in history who acted like an asshole, bragging and declared that he was the greatest man alive (while having some losses unlike Rocky Marciano...ouch). I can't even remember Hitler saying the same thing.

If there's one thing I respect about Taylor its that she's genuine. The type of HW starlet that could say she was a virgin & I'd believe her. Miley not so much. Problem is I find Taylors music very juvinile. Its all about frilly romance & boycrushes. Basically its all fluff w/ nothing at the core. Not worthy of major music awards. Also I hope she improves her singing. Her live performances need work.

She's best new comer for a reason. Her voice definitely is unusual, perhaps she knows how to use it to the best advantage. Her background shows that she has been singing since birth. Decided to this when she's only 10 while we just play games. Furiously devoted, practice 4 hrs a day rigorously; sometimes she don't stop even when her fingers bled. Very focus. It's no matter why she can write all her songs. At 19 this level of accomplishment is deserving of such talent.

I nearly fell over laughing when I heard the "played til my figners bled" line. The only thing she's more mediocre at than singing is playing guitar. I don't even need to outline an opinion on how overrated this "nice girl" is. Time is the enemy of mediocrity, and time is on my side. It will consume her like an anaconda. Her voice is not unusual in any way, other than how blindingly ORDINARY it is. Not only is she a technically weak singer. She's utterly devoid of charisma.

I think the VERY BIG difference beteween MJ and taylor swift (even if it isn't comparable) is that MJ is the King of Pop and enven when he was on live he had a great voice !
