  • 6 people are katie perry fanboys!

  • As much as I love Lea, I prefer Ruthie Henshall's version. This one is amazing though

  • This version gives the song its complete justice! My ears needed to hear this. My heart is happy, thanks Lea! Thanks Foxy!

  • Lindo demais!!

  • amazing!

  • I am so proud to be related to her. :)

  • OHLEAYOUAMAZINGWOMANYOU. <3

  • wow!! besides mulan & jasmine, I'd only heard lea do "on my own" as eponine, and I thought her voice was kinda small, but this was amazing.

  • 6 people are completely and utterly INSANE!

  • Galing!! i am pround to be a filipino..

  • She's the best. She just bubbles over with expression and it gives me chills. Everything she does she OWNS.

  • What an incredible voice. Without a doubt the best musical theatre voice of our generation.

  • What a fantastic voice. So expressive. I love this woman.

  • six people have never dreamed a dream. how sad.

  • @28twilightfan this is the 25th anniversary concert at the 02

  • @Zazou447460 : this was on filmed on Jun 2007

  • sure the glee version sounded great, but this is another level! :)

  • six people have never dreamed.

  • the best!!

  • Now I know how that witch Ursula in "the Little Mermaid" feels. I wanna cast a spell on Ms. Lea and borrow her voice even for just one day, Boy, I would really have a blast!

  • She is so beautiful, expressive and has such an amazing vocal range. Still the Lea I remember. : )

  • Miss Leah is a beast on stage with so much fiery emotions that burn the audience

  • the best.... we all know why she is where she is right now and how WEST END accepted her... in comparison to susan boyle? you cannot. they have different range... lea's expressive vocal musicality is unequalled. lea knows what type of song is this.

  • SUPERB!!!

  • I feel like I just saw the face of God. Her voice is amazing...

  • AMAZING!!!!!!

  • my favorite Filipina

  • WOW!! ibang klase talaga!! napaiyak ako!!

  • still the best Ruthie Henshall! :)

  • @28twilightfan I believe this was from the actual Les Mis play in Broadway.

  • Absolutely amazing. I hadn't seen any videos of Lea Salonga as Fantine before (although, I'm familiar with her roles as Eponine and as Kim). Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • I love this song and Lea is so awesome. :)

  • I love this song and Lea's voice as well.

  • from Eponine to Fantine.

    Leas is the best!

  • Lea Salonga's voice has really grown to be amazing!!! It has made leaps and bounds. I prefer Lea as Fantine. Imagine that. I used to think no one can be at par with Patti LuPone's I Dreamed A Dream. But Lea has proven that it takes time to evolve into becoming an excellent and compleat artist. Lea's version of I Dreamed A Dream is now the epitome of who Fantine is. Lea, thank you for giving us your talent and not stopping to develop your voice!

  • i cry everytime is see this.. i love her voice thats full of emotions

  • amazing!!!!!!!! wow!!!!!!!!

  • amazing!!!!!!!! wow!!!!

  • Wow! I'm speechless... :-)

  • Is it me or is she using too much vibrato?

  • Special screening of the 25th anniversary concert of Les M at select US theatres nationwide on Wed Nov 17

  • i've never cried to a song...until now.

omg her voice is so amazing. <3

  • whew brilliant.. it give me the chills.. what a performance!

  • She's just awesome!! The first time I saw this, she took my breath away!

Anyway, I really think she looks like Demi Lovato.=)

  • made me cry :[

  • 5 people dont appreciate good quality of songs.. gosh..

  • T_T..lea you're the best!

  • no doubt she won a tony... she's one of the most talented singers... extraordinary indeed... ^_^

  • Woahhhhhhhh. Speechless.

  • musical theater accomplishment! as eponine in the 10th anniversary concert at the royal albert hall, then recently as fantine at the o2 arena, check out her out of this world fantine performance at the 25th anniv concert.

  • Excellent!!! Anyone know the date of this?

  • beautiful

    (STRAIGHT FACE,DROOLING ! )

  • I love how Lea sings her emotion out. Passion and talent.

  • it's a perfect disney princess singing voice. she's amazing.

  • @28twilightfan , the song's originally from les miserables. here, lea salonga plays fantine, the character who sings this song.

  • That dress looks amazing on her.

  • If she were in the original cast of the Broadway revival (instead of Daphne Rubin Vega) she would have been nominated for a Tony, perhaps even won.

  • Wonderful, but I still much prefer On my own... not saying she plays a better Eponine, both roles are great, but I much prefer that song and so of course would rather have it sung by the best.

Of course, if could find a production where she plays both roles...;o)

  • sorry when i see lea i only get mis siagon in my head not les miss as fantine.

  • Great singing as usual. I just hate how thin the orchestra was when this show was revived in 2006 in New York. The strings playing the E-flat chord were glaringly absent before Lea starts singing the phrase "I dreamed a dream..."

  • God, this song just makes me weep! it's absolutely tragic. breaks my heart every time.

"I had a dream my life would be so different from this hell I'm living. So different now from what it seemed..." stunning.

  • I can still only see her as Eponine, but this is amazing

  • 最後回頭 好辛酸

  • 4 people disliked this video. I want to hunt them down and make them listen to this again. Cos no way you can not love her. I love you lea.

  • Wow! great performance. She's full of emotions. she made me cry. ;-)

  • Lea's voice mesmerize me. Hearing her sing is like hearing an angel singing. Her emotion is felt and she's really great. No other talents has the same intensity as her.

  • I honestly preferred her as Eponine.

For me, Ruthie Henshall is still the best professional Fantine.

  • the lyrics and Lea's voice make me think of I Still Believe in Miss Saigon

    and i cried

  • givesme chill everytime...whoa. amazing!

  • lea's lower register is awesome!

  • Lea is fantastic. I dont know if I prefere her Eponine or Fantine! She's magnificent! Cant wait to see what she's like at the 02

  • @28twilightfan Hey, Glee is a cool show, but where is this? Well, it isn't a Hollywood sound stage. This is the real deal, on Broadway in New York City at the Broadhurst Theater in 2007.

  • @28twilightfan this is the actual show... that glee copied.

  • Mmmm. Lea and Ruthie. Best Fantine's ever.

  • @batangwaray1 Yeah, she's def a soprano. her range is too high for the "high" notes here to sound as impressive as they could.

  • I LOVE YOU LEA!

  • Nice cleavage shot

    .

Think that's the first time I ever saw Lea with such a low neckline. Beautiful as always

    .

  • bravo

  • i can't wait for when she sings this in the O2 on october! aaaaaaah. so excited! will they put on dvd? does anybody know? i hope so!

  • Her voice is perfection... flawless! So emotional, and her enunciation is perfect.

  • who's the crazy guy who disliked !?!?!?!?!

  • I LOVE LEA SALONGA but in this song she really doesnt perform as grate as usual

  • bravooooooooooooooo, leahhhh, bravooooooooo

  • very nice and so good to hear.....love it

  • thanks for uploading this!

  • Im so glad that shes from the philippines. I got to see her in Cats Live. GO LEA!!!!!

  • I really admire lea salonga.. she's so perfect

  • Beautiful Face. Angelic Voice.

  • I feel bad for the 2 people that disliked this video. They obviously don't know anything about beautiful music.

  • ..lea is a legend!!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE her as Fantine but for some reason she will always be Eponine.

  • That was awesome, if there's youtube during her time maybe she's more famous than Susan Boyle.

  • the two people who gave this a thumbs down are crazy.

  • It doesn't matter who sings it. This song breaks my heart every time I hear it.

  • She's such an inspiration.... she makes me want to hop right on stage and start singing..

  • goosebumps..goosebumps i tell yah! i effin love lea salonga!

  • She sing beautiful but l am sorry to compare, but the best version of this song is by Ruthie Henshall in the 10th anniversary is AMAZING, flawless, she put a lot of emotion and her voice is PERFECT it give goosebump and bring tears in my eyes sorry!!! but Lea is amazing to and her voice is awesome

  • wow!

  • ONE dislike!? Who was crazy enough to do that!! Lea deserves more likes then Youtube is capable of holding, not one lousy dislike.

  • @missmusicgirl0511 there are 6 dislikes now. these freaks want to hear britney's voice singing this song to the tune of Toxic or Oopss I Did It Again!!! LMAO

  • I think Ruthie will always be my favorite Fantine (and Lea my favorite Eponine!)... BUT, to say that Lea can't sing this song would be a downright lie. Lea, as always, continues to wow me with her amazing voice. I love her.

  • lea has a better version of this song

  • Lea Salonga is amazing!! Gave me the chills ! *clap*clap*

  • Ha una voce forte canto e una personalità a morire.

  • she's going to be Fantine for the 25th anniversary in London!!!!

  • beautiful//

  • One of the best Fantine interpretations, IMO. My mother and I saw her in this role on Broadway...we wept.

  • that Susan Boyle ruined this song!

  • @mabanggo Not rly. Both are good at belting out that song.

  • She is one of my musical heroes,

    I love her voice.

As I undergo my trainining her version of I dreamed a dream always soothes me.

    She is amazing.

  • huhhhhhhh!!!! with feelings and expressions! Awesome!!!

  • this gives me chill.... she made me cry....

  • This performance as Fantine earned her privilege and pride to be included in Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert on October 3, 2010 at The O2 Arena in London. ;-) Nice Job Lea ;-)

  • All I can hear is Mulan, haha.

    Beautiful!

  • I want to marry her!

  • Lea's version of I Dreamed a Dream was my favorite until I heard Idina Menzel/Lea Michele's GLEE version. Soooo blessed that I got to see Lea sing this live!!

  • lea <3

  • a very legendary woman when it comes to singing.! wonderful and she deserves appreciation of the world.

  • I have been an avid Lea Salonga fan even before she coveted the role of Kim in Miss Saigon. However, when I first learned that she was going to be Fantine on Broadway, I had my doubts whether she could do justice to the role. Her beautiful and crystal-clear voice, to me, was not suited for the role. Boy was I WRONG! She turned out to be the best Fantine I have ever seen - vocally and acting wise. I have seen many actresses essay this role. Lea blew me away. FANTASTIC was she! Unforgettable!

  • @AlanNJUSA me too, i had my doubts about her, but she blows me away with her belting power. CHarice could learn a tthing or two from her. But Ruthie will always be my Fantine. But LEA IS AMAZING

  • i'm so thrilled for lea and her fans that lea got to perform this role. her voice sounds as gorgeous as ever, but tinged with experience and grit and maturity. it's breathtaking as always, but also now heartbreaking.

listen to the low roar of 'as the tigers come at night...'. that, plus her usual gorgeous belt, is something special. perfect casting.

  • Lea is the BEST!!!

  • I like Lea as Fantine, but I prefer her as Eponine. I prefer Kerry Ellis as Fantine.

  • BRAVO! u almost make me cry and im here in an internet cafe...

  • goosebumps! shes very lovely! and stop comparing ruthie and lea...they both gave justice on this lovely song.

  • I really love this song :) Leah did a really good job! I wish their cast would come to the US. I really want to watch them in October... but it's in London (T-T)

  • I could hardly breathe watching this performance.

  • i cried while watching...superb performance!

  • I love Lea Salonga's voice so much! 10 years ago when I first saw her in Les Miserables... that is when I knew I wanted to sing. T_T <333

  • the performance was so filled of emotions... this one is really good...

  • Ruthie is much better in this role

  • I thought lea was brilliant at this song but then again shes another brilliant performer

  • Wow, i thought the song that susan boyle sang was her own lol. Didn't know it was sung by Disney Princess Jasmine :DD

  • AMAZING!!!!!! :) Lea is just sooooo talented! her voice is just amazing!

  • amazing.

  • one of the best singers to ever walk on a musical stage

  • FILIPINO! FILIPINO! FILIPINO! proud to be a FILIPINA!!! <3 from NY

  • she's amazing, no wonder she was casted as Fantine for the 25th anniversary of Les Mis....

  • brings tears to my eyes <3

  • She is just amazing. How can she be so emotive?

  • no one can replace her, ever! in history of man kind

  • this is what you called "singing" ..

  • technically, this is sung very, very well.

  • One of my favourite vocalists of all time.

  • this girl is incredible

  • jesus. especially for the last half of that song, i had goosebumps the whole time.

she is amazing. there's so much feeling in her performance.

  • gave me goosebumps. bravo lea salonga you really are the best!

  • such talent. Really amazing and what a line of magnificent roles she's played!

  • i think lea sang the song better than Ruthie... because lea portrayed the character well... she sang it with conviction and feelings compare to Ruthie's performance which the singing is quite strong that her voice tend to over power the emotions and the character.... that she should convey to the audience... just an opinion...

  • Brava!!

  • I like her much better as Fantine than Eponine.

  • She can sing Disney all she wants, but her voice has the power of an opera singer. :) Go Lea!

  • She can sing Disney all she wants, but her voice has the power of an opera singer. :) Go Lea!

  • I think she sings it fantastically, but characterwise it's almost as if she's a little too immature to play that part. idk. she sings amazing but i just don't get that "fantine" vibe.

  • Lea is not just singing here; she's acting as well and had to put in the right expressions, the passion that comes with the story. She's singing in an awkward position, which is makes making high notes even more difficult.

    She is awesome!!

  • this is the best video of lea's "i dreamed a dream" performance. congratulations to the person who recorded this and the one who uploaded if they're not the same. nice work! =)

  • One of the best Fantines I've had the privilege of seeing. She delivers a fantastic performance backed by the lackluster, too busy, uninteresting new orchestration. Imagine how amazing that moment would've been had she had the original arrangement (the one heard in the 10th ann. concert) supporting her? It would've soared.

  • It was no Lea 'Singing'..........

    Its Lea 'Living' the dream!

Living the words, emotions, & life in that Dream!

    -No Match- shall i say!

  • It was no Lea 'Singing'..........

    Its Lea 'Living' the dream!

Living the words, emotions, & life in that Dream!

    -No Match- shall i say!

  • @dannyplouffe? were you talking about your mother? oh okies.

  • @MsFoxycandy

I know Lea Solanga's cousin Ria. She's the director of a theater company that I perform in.

  • Perfect!!! I'm speechless and I don't know what the exact words should be about this fantastic, amazing and astonishing performance!!! OMG!!! It was a hair raising performance! The passion and the voice can be difficult to combine but this lady astounded all of us!!! She's one hell of a talent!!! There are some talents that are compared to her and it only means good thing as she is used as a standard when it comes to theater plays!!! She's a thespian with full of gifts!!! Go Filipinos!!!

  • please watch danielle hann calma i dreamed a dream

  • geez lea, you make me cry!

  • ...............!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lea is the best singer! proud to be PINOY!

  • @asiascutestlady GO PINOYS!!!!!!!!!

  • O.O wow. just wow.

  • What the hell is wrong with all of you. SARAH BRIGHTMAN. Sarah god damned Brightman was the best.

  • @Akihikio Brightman has a great voice but was she in les miserable?

  • @leoniderna She was never in it

  • @Akihikio Brightman is great - no doubt. But I love every aspect of Lea Solonga's voice, and I find her more expressive.

  • true.. i always admire her version of any song she performs...
