The more he makes speeches in a similar way to Paul Keating, the sooner his political career will end!!! For god's sake, the smarter one never win election. I believe this Costello guy does have the knowledge and skill, but if he keeps on talking like the way Paul Keating do, he won't go far... For the record, I do think both Paul Keating and Peter Costello are good Treasurers. Well for a lot of australians, $ and profits aren't all and end all, they want our Aussie values back!

Lol this will be an unpopular comment, but Costello is smart enough to know that he is riding Paul Keating's coattails. Microeconomic reform and macroeconomic reform have remained largely unchanged. His analogy about a sports car is quite adept, because like a sports car, he didn't build it, he just drives it around. Give it back to the mechanics Mr Costello. =)

I hope so bad that he gets to be PM. It would be a great tragedy that after this guy's strong efforts, for small buisnesses, tax reform and our econiomic infastructure as a whole, that he would miss out.

As Peter says here, I think many uncommitted voters will be willing to give Labor 'a go' in the belief that the economy is so good that even Labor couldn't stuff it up! Well trust me.. they can and they will! if given the chance. As Peter says, don't underestimate them in that regard. Voters are well advised to heed Peter's warning.

I'll just say that I think the Libs aren't doing a very good job of selling themselves. They should be much more in the publics face. There's been some great speeches by Peter and others, but the average voter isn't getting to hear them, and to consider the wisdom of what's being said. It's no use preaching just to the converted. The Libs should have speeches like these on their channel, but at least I'm getting them up. Maybe they should employ me as PR director, lol!
