It is sad that here in Brazil hunting is prohibited

I'm enjoying it more than traditional archery

  • good call passing the quartering to shot

  • great to see that shot, i know exactly the happiness felt when you get a shot right after hoursof wating. its something in our instinct which goes back thousands of years that just make us ecstatic when we succesfully hunt an animal.

  • how far did he run? what arrow and broad head?

  • Awesome shot bro! Nothing like a traditional bow kill. Congrats!

  • Awesome video buddy. You inspire me to hang up my compound and give the old recurve a try. That looked like some intense excitement.

  • All u racist cocksuckers need to fuck off! This dude is a hunting maniac! Awesome video my friend! I have watches all your videos and they are all filmed with class and with much respect for the game u are harvesting. WELL DONE!

  • She's dead isn't it? Poor animal

  • @Zeta439 No, it was just taking a nap in the back of that truck.

  • "Oh my goodness Charles!" HAHAHA. That was an awesome video. Great job on the patience. I'm hunting with a longbow for the first time this year. I've spent nearly 10 months training with it. Look for my video later this fall. Nice job man!

  • if you want my expert opinion put down the bow and pick up a spear

because i know you people prefer the ol' african hunting style

  • black man was ment to collect the animal not kill it

  • What a bad ass video

  • Barrel why don't you just shut the hell up and enjoy the man's video!!! Everybody's gotta be a damn film major!!???

  • IF YOU'RE GOING TO WHISPER THEN EDIT THE VIDEO WHERE THE PART OF THE VIDEO YOU ARE WHISPERING AND RAISE THAT PART OF THE AUDIO!!!

IF YOU CAN'T DO THAT THEN JUST DON'T UPLOAD THIS FREAKING VIDEO!

OR BETTER!!! SPEAK NORMALLY INTO THE CAMERA BECAUSE I SWEAR THAT DEAR AIN'T GONNA CARE!!!

  • @barreltrollololol shutup fool!

  • @barreltrollololol trolls in your name. your on youtube watching a video that you didnt pay for . if anything you should be sucking this guys dick.

  • @barreltrollololol why dont you shut the fuck up and post your video with better audio cause i heard him just fine and if you ever went hunting at all you wouldnt be complaining about him whispering , at least your name suits you perfect

  • @samstterhamstteer Uhhh... yea, my name suits me perfect. That's the point doffus.

  • Great job, nice shot, and a great deer.

  • I heard a lot of clicking in the background. Was your tree stand set and locked down? Nice shot, BTW.

  • I heard a lot of clicking in the background. Was your tree stand set and locked down?

  • Nice! Congrats!

  • how much r u pulling

  • Good Pateints most people would of took that shot way to early.. Good shot man

  • Great video! Good quality camera work. I have seen most of your vids, hope you guys kill some more shit with the recurve! AWESOME!!!!

  • man that was two minutes of tension!

  • that looked like a good shot to me. was he qaurtering away a little? har dto tell from the camera angle. big congrates!!! i cant wait to take my long bow hunting. almost tothe point where i feel confident hunting with it. i have a new hybrid long bow being made so ill have to see how i shoot that one. im stoked.

keep up the good work. i bet he tasted great

  • bruh you in Ga? if so let me know we have to link up

  • The smile says it all, way to go! Ignore all the critics on here. EVERY hunter makes mistakes. Dead deer = successful hunt period.

  • Any deer with a traditional bow is a trophy.Way to go.

  • in NC traditional bows have to be #40 i shoot a #45 and took a 11 point this year and traditional is the way to go

  • Great shot!!! you smoked em!

  • @NasalObstruction Wow what a fucked up remark. I wonder what that makes you?

  • wow.,..awesome video dude....love it

  • noisy stand you'r on,

    good shot.

  • Nice shot... nice video guys! :)

  • When you bait, just call it what it is, target shooting, not real hunting. Glad I come from one of the states that finds it Illegal to bait.

  • that was cool idk if there really was a bait pile wich would kinda be gay but still pretty awesome

  • great shoot my friend congrats.

  • how did you wait that long congrats man thats amazing patience backed up with an amazing shot shot thumbs up

  • Nothing like a bait pile to increase the odds huh. Hunt like a real man. Over natural food sources.......

  • @Mackatax so I'm guessing your a real man? Must be you don't hunt with camo clothing, or from a treestand, because that would be an increase in your odds too. Oh...I'm sure you don't use a compound, you likely hunt with a homemade bow, flint tips, and wooden arrows, because that's how real men hunt. Might as well jump on PETA's bandwagon if your going to start telling other hunters how immoral thier LEGAL hunting practices are.

  • that bow is the pse impala isnt i have one with 50 pound at 28 in

  • @0Valkyr0 NOT......it was liver lung, i was happy it was my 1st

no one taught me, went thru a lot....appreciate it all though

  • @cfnhunter Great vid, camera work was fantastic. Congrats! It's amazing how many other hunters post negative comments on here, I thought we were all supposed to be on the same team?

  • @cfnhunter dont let this guy act like he knows what hes talking about that was a perfect shot with a compound let alone a recurve....love this vids man...

  • @cfnhunter Brotha man, yo shot was supa fly!!!!

  • @0Valkyr0 Not a gut shot. Maybe could have let him turn more though. Deer is dead though, so no arm chair analysis needed really.

  • @0Valkyr0 your an idiot that was a perfect shot....he smoked him

  • @0Valkyr0 That was actually a decent shot. No offense but I don't see a video of you out in the woods making a shot with a tradional archery set up on a deer.. Congrats cfnhunter. Good shot many more to come hopefully bigger bucks too,

  • hi i just made a bow with my freind. its a traditnal bow with only 35# of draw at 28" is that enough to take down a whit tail?

  • @TheMHandDSfan ehhh if you are close.

  • @0Valkyr0 ok you seem like you know a bit about bows, where can i get a decent tradtional bow with out paying like a ridiculas 400 bucks, thanks.

  • @TheMHandDSfan hello, sorry for the delay in response,

my 1st was the PSE Impala $150, sometime during the first two yrs i had it , the lower limb became warped. I then found a used Bear Grizzly online for $120, better quality alround, still killin with it too 3 yrs later, been thru all types of conditions. good luck

  • @TheMHandDSfan

by far not "an expert", but that may be pushing it a bit. I know that legal limit on compound is #35 or 40, but they deliver with more kinetic energy than a recurve at the same poundage. not saying it cany be done, jus know that we have had arrows hang up in the shoulder on #50 bows. Bottomline, u got to put it in the right spot.

  • @cfnhunter it is possible to kill a whitetail with a #35 bow. i have a friend that shot one with a 25lb recurve good sharp broadhead and a well placed shot will kill it.

  • @TheMHandDSfan 35 pound can do it but it will depend on state laws, in north carolina the legal limit for hunting with compound its 40 and 45 for longbow or recurve. a heavier arrow with a small diameter will do good for penetration

  • @TheMHandDSfan That is more than enough to take down a white tail....practice deligently....and be CERTAIN of your shot placements....w/ that i wouldnt try a shot over 15 yds

  • @TheMHandDSfan my cousin killed a deer with 37 pounds and in texas there is no limit for poundage anymore and shot placement is the most important if you hit the deer perfect then it will kill it

  • That was sooooo awesome. Your patience was incredible! Way to wait for the shot.... excellent vid thanks for posting it! :-)

  • wow dude , I don't know if I could have waited so long,,,, but you got it right ,,,good job

  • Ok i just started hunting with my recurve and let me say dude that was bad asss!!!

  • congrads! im just starting out in the recurve world and that is quite an acomplishment. your doing something most people cant, very nicely done!

  • nice bow i got 1 just like it except mine has 4 tuffs of fur things 2 on top and 2 on bottom. does that make any differnce compared to your 2?

  • Well shot ...are you a trad gang member

  • sweet

  • very well done man i just ordered the new blackwidow PCH and good job on waiting for the right shot. Very nicely done!

  • Seriously love this video!! I love how you took your time and waited patiently for that deer to move it's shoulder out of the way giving you that nice quarter away shot. Very ethical and moral...most hunters don't have that kind of patience to wait. I'm not a subscriber...thumbs up!!!

  • This is a great video. awesome shot with traditional equipment

  • Very nice :)

  • your gonna miss getting a lot of deer if u keep waiting for a perfect broadside AND looking away. took way too long to shoot. good shot though... try it with out bait sometime... its a lot more rewarding.

  • @njones108 hater

  • Good hunting man!

  • it looked like you had a shot from 2:44 onward why did you wait until 2:56 ish?

  • Wow!!!

  • excellent! i was getting anxious just watching

  • what kind of bow is that?

  • He should try throwing spears instead.

  • at you....but you aint worth it. Just keep admiring him and his life,God Bless C3!!!

  • I was amazed that he got it. I think he may be the loudest most moving deer hunter I have ever seen. Mabey it was the editing

  • slammeed him, nice shot

  • god you held that draw a long time..

    damn good hit tho

  • Nice kill! that was intense to watch. I have just aquired 3 old recurves and I can't wait to start practicing and the get into the deep woods. Excellent video man.

  • nice shot ,gald to see you did not have to wait for an 8 point to shoot. killing any deer with a bow is a challenge.and with traditional tackle o so sweet. i noticed you waited till the deer was quartering away some what before the shoot ,good thinking, thats what i call using your head for something besides a hat rack. welcome to the brother hood

  • @MackinacIs No they don't, shut up. It's a smart approach

  • I believe it was Dr. Pope who said "We disdain to shoot from trees." It was one of the founders of the American archery movement.

  • @MackinacIs would that be the same Dr. Pope who liked to take 75 yd shots?

  • @davidleealford I don't know. Did he bag anything from that distance?

  • @MackinacIs "sport" hunters do. I wouldn't stand hunto for fun--but if I needed food---it is a smart way to go.

  • @91Roadwarrior Too many people fall out of tree stands and are injured.

  • Beautiful shot man.

  • I won't say anything about killing a deer just because their population can explode if you don't keep their numbers under control. But, I don't know, it just seems wrong some how. But at least it was a good shot with a recurve.

  • @RealPeepsComInc if the venison was good, you can't imagine how right the feeling is for a bowhunter to have provided with a limit on hunting technology such as using a recurve or any bow for that matter.

  • was that on an enclosed hunting park? rofl

  • this isn't hunting... Its sitting and waiting

  • i hate this type of hunting, just sitting there, putting bait and waiting for the deeer to come to you,its boring. id much rather become a hunter, chasing the deer, stalking up on it, rather than sitting there waititng

  • @JUKIO01 then do it and stop bitching.

  • @JUKIO01 He did use bait?

  • great shot!!!

  • And Im going to eat bambi cousin.

  • 46lbs is enough. With 55lbs or more Is a perfect draw weight.

But every times you hunt deers you should use hunting arrow heads.

I wanna know how to make a a paralyzing poison to don't lose arrows ( the poison affects the animal, but doesn't do anything to humans after 20 hours of the animal death).

  • @FranciscoSRO2 It's illegal to use any type of poison.. dumb idea anyway it wouldn't kill the deer any faster

  • @FranciscoSRO2 ... broadheads will kill a deer more effective than poison. You will have to find the animal after you poison it with the arrow or dart and then you will ingest the poison when you eat the meat.

Broadheads kill deer usually within 50 yards with a good hit.

  • Great vid!!!

  • Is that an impala series recurve? It looks like it.

Thats what I shoot. But I really want a Kustom King longbow

  • nice shot.looked like you were hunting early season?? Just a suggestion, try hunting ridge funnels.Natural travel and natural food. I shoot recurve myself, again nice shot

  • Nice end result, lots of string creep before the shot, but hey, he made it.

I've never seen anyone hold at full draw so long but it obviously worked.

Very good video, trad is where it's at.

  • great shot

  • Talk about a bad release, major string follow! I sure am glad I come from a state that has fair chase and no baiting like this fool is doing. My God, hunt them the way it should be...........

  • So do you hunt over a scrape? Or a rub? Or in a cornfield? Maybe near a creek bed? That's all bait. What ever draws the deer to a location is bait. If you put out apples or a salt block the deer still have to find it just like they find a cornfield or an apple orchard. Would you go fishing with an empty hook?

  • try hunting hog

  • good job man nice shot

  • i hate when they come out to close...thats when they jump the arrow.. ive found that shooting outside of 30 yds even up to 80 yds with a compound bow doesnt startle them they just look then they get caught... its very visual but this was good 2 keep it up but dont be afraid to take the 40 yd shot the arrow is mightier than the bullet

  • i met these 2 guys at the gas station last deer season down here in auburn, al. they were cool dudes

  • damn sweet shot!

  • great shot, keepm on shooting and BBQing, yf dan

  • Nicely done! I am after blacktails this year with my recurve! Confident to only 15 yards right now, so it will be tough. I am very excited to be using traditional equipment, it will be adding a whole new line to my hunting lifestyle. Again man great video. I also loved the other deer recurve vid, that was awsome.

  • great shot and funny video,, i just purchased my first recurve, it is 30# at a 20 in draw length my draw length is about 32 inches so i get about 35 or so punds on my bow. Is that enouph to hunt deer or not.

  • check your regs. Washington state requires a minimum of 40lbs to hunt big game.

  • yeah, good to use 40# or higher...AZ requires at least 40

  • you probably wont have enough kinetic energy with only 35 # try for 40 or more to be safe...

  • My bow is only 33# but it should be enough for deer.

  • @berserkr452 not really you need to shoot no less than 45lb but that still awful light 50-60 is good with 60 beeing the best but u can go higher if you want

  • Your a dumb-ass you think by sending these stupid messages your going to stop hunters. Get a life. If you don't like hunting don't sit and watch hunting videos. It's that easy.

  • do you eat meat?

  • @tristanunit111 I must protest at the manner in which you butcher the language. Rub your three brain cells together and come up with a comment that isn't laced with obscenity and poor grammar.

  • right on bro

  • Man this is by far my favorite recurve hunting vid on youtube!

  • that is a good shot dude, i got a new recurve bow from PSE called falcon, it is shoots good, it looks like urs exactly... again that was a good shot

  • don't mean to sound stereotypical but you don't see to many black guys hunting these days. especially traditional bow hunting. i think it's a great thing and if more black people got into it. there wouldn't be so much gang violence because hunting forces you to respect life. especially when you hunt traditionally. i once had to kill a deer that had broken hips with my axe. i respect life more now that ever...

  • It's just a guy hunting, what the hell difference does his color make? Just be quiet, and spare us all the lesson.

  • i've never learned a thing from a man who agreed with me

  • pfff , work on that release...

  • I saw a kill shot so the release was a good one

  • It could just as well been a very bad shot , and leaving the animal wounded, with a release like that you won't be very consistent.

  • yes I see what your talking about, is it called plucking? thats what this guy is doing right?

  • Great shot doode

  • Great video! I was sitting watching this and getting just as excited about your shot! Nice!

  • I am new to archery. If i were to buy a left handed recurve bow what side would the arrowshelf be on? Also would i be drawing back with my left hand?

    thank you

  • Hello and welcome to this great sport of archery! Let me remind you that this is a challenging sport that will test you as an individual, but in the process of growth and acomplishment there is no greater reward. As far as your bow is concerned, left handed bows have the arrowshelf on the right side of the riser and you will hold the bow with your right hand and draw the string back with your left. Try checking out the dvd "Masters of the Bare Bow" it really helpsGood luck and keep us informed!

  • It's more important to know whether you are left or right eye dominant. Don't let anyone sell you a bow without checking this first. Good luck, its a great sport!

  • @greenteam243 it would be on the right.

  • Great video!

  • thanks HoustonR6ryda!

At that time I was shooting a PSE Impala @50 lbs. , full length aluminum arrows tipped with a thunderhaed 125. Now with a Bear Grizzly at 50 lbs. full length easton axis 500, tipped with 150gr woodsman broadhead. It has truly been a roller coaster of emotions while shooting the recurve, but all things come with time and persistence. Let me know your shooting tech. and i can share mine to see if we can both fine tune this exciting challenge!

    Good hunting!

  • @cfnhunter o and btw can you tell me what the differnce in grains are. thx

  • please tell us your set up bow poundage arrow, broadhead weight-thanks for taking us with you on these great adventures-I am a fan-"get your hunt" on C3 -C3-C3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some great shooting! Fantastic job!

  • nIce. That was a perfect example of patience.

    Well done and congratulations!

    Very good footage.

One thing that crossed my mind when I first saw the deer come in by the blind was: "is that buck legal?"

because in my state there are certain criteria that has to be met for a buck to be legally taken. But I am assuming that this was taken into account according to the regulations on your area.

    Nice hunting.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Outstanding. Tremendous skills. Should be part of all hunter safety courses...

  • well done!

  • One of YT's best bowhunt vids. This man is in a class by himself. He demonstrates incredible restraint, patience and discretion to ensure a well placed shot and clean kill. It's the essence of bowhunting, even more so in traditional bowhunting where the effective distance is so much shorter. Nicely done, keep up the good, errr...GREAT work!

  • another excellent vid-true woodsmen

  • Great patience and shot. Very impressive. 5 stars

  • That was good shooting with the recurve. You showed a true hunter and waited for the correct time excellent work and congradulation. 5

  • nice shootin man. i shot my first buck with a bow this year, and i also shoot a pse impala. keep up the vids

  • awesome that your doing trad!

what are the specs on your set up?

were you using a pse impala?

WHAT WEIGHT ARRROW AND BROADHEAD DID YOU USE?

    thanks

  • You guys produce some great video. Nice shots, both with the bow and the camera. Thanks

  • wow - nice job guys! I can't believe the patience you showed in waiting for the perfect shot...it looked like the deer was going to bolt and I kept thinking, "he's going to forget about waiting and just shoot." But you didn't - awesome, man! And with traditional gear...nice!

  • 50 lbs.
