  • Next time you go to say that music today is fucked, stop and think of Wilco. They continuously give me hope.

  • Classy move by Tweedy letting her have that line all on her own despite the whole song being a duo. Love this song!

  • What a brilliant collaboration. Perfectly matched with no grand-standing.

  • God, I love when TV hosts hold up the LP instead of CDs.

  • @KaiserKiller hipster! :P

  • sent this a new friend with a soon to be beautiful wife...whoops she is beautiful now..and i know the song will have meaning...musaque is the best way to talk....i my opinion..

  • What did he say freaked him out at the end?

  • @1:28 when they look at each other :)

  • @arthurdickson soooo good and cuute as

  • i love this

  • god bless nels cline

  • @jokez112 IKR :D I was lucky enough to hear him preform solo in a seattle record store years and years ago :D

  • @jokez112 there is no way he can bless himself

  • This song makes me smile. ;>)

  • Sorry for this "sexist" comment but these are the most beautiful legs ever that had been standing on Letterman's stage (I mean Feist's legs).

  • STFU

  • feist.yum

  • i want to punch letterman's keyboard guy in the face

    love wilco though

  • So simple and so perfect.

  • amazing .how did he get that backwards guitar sound at the end??

  • @walkerandwilliam Probably a volume pedal.

  • @wiirulez89 It isn't a volume pedal, many modern delay pedals (L6 Delay Modeler, Empress Superdelay etc.) have reverse settings, not sure which Nels has on his board though.

  • Their voices have perfect harmony. Jeff Tweedy rocks!!!!!!!! And Feist!!!!!!!!!

  • Best current American band. Even though they've been around for like 15 years haha

  • feist sounds like she's making love to the words as they come out of her mouth.... mmmm.

  • The song inspires me to live a true love, with all that the word "love" implies.

  • They should have found a way to mix in a little "Islands in the Stream". Love the song and Feist is adorable

  • @gabers32 Electro Harmonix 16 second digital delay

  • Around 3:30, what effect pedal is their guitarist using?

  • @lysolbombs470

Pretty sure it is a reverse delay pedal. Many higher end digital delays offer this feature. Line 6 I DL6 does (big green machine). Danelectro discontinued it but you can probably find a Back Talk or Wasabi reverse delay for a relatively good price. Peace.

  • groovy.

  • Great song.

  • Wow this is really really pretty 

  • Wow... the two sound great together. Maybe they should have kids and their kidds could start a band called FICO and they'd have all the number one hits in the world and fight rap music with their laser beam eyes and destroy the evils of this world by running for office and winning the election then proclaiming themselves the good kings and queens of the world and make all things right and bring everyone to salvation.

  • with feist?? sow awesome

  • needs more cowbell

  • no one like being there here? true alt-country album

  • @Cylam

Might be their best material, the sheer amount of impressive material is amazing

  • @Cylam BEING THEEEEREEE!! the greaaaatest!!! :P Second is "Wilco"!!!! Couuuuntry Disapeeeaaredddd!!!

  • I remember when Jeff was a doorman at Lounge Ax in Chicago! lol. Our generation is blessed with talent such as Wilco. Ultra talented musicianship 100%.

  • All of Wilco's albums are beautiful but I believe their most underrated is Summerteeth. Listen to the entire album and it is just a masterpiece. I believe it is around the same greatness as Yankee and Sky Blue Sky.

  • @dasolano91 totally agreed

  • Having Nels as their guitarist is one of the best things to happen to this band

  • this sounds great...I'm KINDA new to Wilco, I've enjoyed Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for a long time, and I just bought "Being There". BEING THERE IS THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER. Well, I guess until I buy their others :) Any opinions?

  • @Bus1588 As I said below, Sky Blue Sky is prob their best, or at least on par with Yankee.

  • in my opinion...la mia opinione...

  • Brilliant.

  • So money.

  • My thanks to "onestupidman" for the heads up on this video....very...very ...nice!

  • Cline for president...

  • @ghicaccatta Bull Crap, Nells Cline has ruined Wilco. The last few albums have sucked. I hope they release and album similar to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot or Being There.

  • @wjww1166 wow....

  • @wjww1166

Each to his own, i just feel sorry for anyone not being able to appreciate that magnificent guitar work on Sky Blue Sky.

  • @vladamih Sky Blue Sky and Yankee Foxtrot are equal in my opinion. There's a quality to Sky Blue Sky that seems to be under appreciated to hardcore Wilcoer's. I don't get it because you're exactly right. Side with the Seeds and Impossible Germany especially...and You are my face. I could go on....

  • @Shep11111

don;t get it too.It seems that for some people, Wilco's music is only cool if accompanied by strange drones and sound effects. How can anyone ignore an album as beautiful as Sky blue sky.

  • @vladamih I respect you're opinion, but YHF is like my favorite album ever, and I love Nells Cline live playing Wilco's older stuff, but I just don't like his influence on the band. It seems like it's just me though lol!

  • @wjww1166

Well, it's hard for me to determine which album I love best since most of their work is very consistent and downright brilliant. We may have certain differences when it comes to Wilco but the good thing about it is that they have so much stuff that can appeal to anyone with a good set of ears.

  • @vladamih I just hope that their next album well have something a little more rocked up.

  • @vladamih To me YFH is a standout but it was my introduction to them (I was 30!) - the album was just so....?FULL , yes full. I really disliked YHF first time I heard it, but after a week the love affair began and it was with me for months driving all and sundry around me nuts. I used to leave parties early so I could go home put on YHF kinda loud, roll a big joint and just zone out - by the time I got to Poor Places (my fave song) I would be in heaven - yes YHF for me but it's all good

  • @kickittome70

It was my introduction to the band as well along with A ghost is born and I love them both. There's no doubt about it that both are masterpieces in their own right.YHF, however might contain too of the most striking Wilco songs, Jesus etc. and The ashes of American flag.Even if you don;t like the album on the first listen these two are bound to suck you in

  • @wjww1166like u - YFH is a standout - it was my introduction to them (I was 30!) - the album was just so....?FULL , yes full.

  • @kickittome70 My favorite off YHF is Pot Kettle Black, that last 30 seconds is some of the best music you'll ever hear. And I think I am Trying to Break Your Heart is one of the best opening tracks ever.

  • Awesome song, very much in the style of Tim and Neil Finn. The Wilco album "Wilco (The Album)" is just too good for words! I hope this version of the band stays together forever and Tweedy can continue to create songs this wonderful.

  • What a great pair!

  • feist is definitely a babe

  • Woah, a real Wurlitzer!

    Usually they use Nord's, right?

  • she's a beautiful creature

  • Anyone know what effect Nels is using for that last solo? Sounds like he's playing backwards!

  • @imnotfrank Reverse Delay

  • @imnotfrank He has so many effects... the guy is a genius. Sounds like some kind of souped up synth box.

  • Just lovely.

  • WILCO did great last night @jazz aspen snowmass laborday weekend festival!!! GREAT BAND!!!

  • You And I... x x x

  • @HeadGirl Me and You...the Deepest Spell, I've Ever gone-into...

    :)

    xoxoxo

  • this is a great, great album....

  • amazing. thanks for posting.

  • Wow, that was great.

If you like Wilco, you'll love Josh Rouse! Trust me!

  • Wilco is live this weekend in North adams Massachusetts. They are at the Mass Moca in an apparently packed show.

  • The solo at the end is done with the Boss DD-7. That answer came straight from a reliable source, Nels/Wilco.

  • so this is a song I think might be the best song last year. sadly I don't have yet to find the girl for this song.

  • What cute little song. Feist adds a really nice touch.

  • Cute little thing Leslie Feist, you can feel her shyness and her tenderness. Very nice song, no playback, just their great voices :D

  • nothin' wrong with the "dancing" ... great performers ... very nice song!

  • Wilco w/ Feist......wahhhhhhttttt?

  • I hope Fesit realizes that this isn't a broken social scene song. I can't tell because of her dancing.

  • I want to show this song to a girl i've known for years but i'm afraid she would get the wrong impression. So i'll just keep it to myself, but fuck it's such a great song and it sums up how i have been feeling lately.

  • @sleepoptimistic wow why dont you show it to yourself because you're sounding like the biggest vagina right now.

  • @hockeyyismylife Right? How dare someone express their feelings for someone in a way that you don't see fit?! If you are going to make ridiculous insensitive comments like that, maybe next time keep your thoughts to yourself. Nobody wants to see.

Now back to your brilliantly scheduled viewing :)

  • @sleepoptimistic love love l.o.v.e. is the greatest thing on earth, I imagine myself playing this song with a girl I know that has a beautiful voice, taking risks in life is what makes everything worth while, resting on your laurels and wondering what if? is for the masses, show the video, be in love make love, or fall on your face, in the end you tried and always remember this: the regrets in life aren't the things we did, but the things we did not do. cheers.

  • @sleepoptimistic theres always a million reasons not to do something. don't hold back saying something that could be the best thing you ever did in your life my friend. in other words...grow some stone and tell her. you'll be happy you did.

  • @merunfar89 +1. and if you get rejected, at least it's better than an eternal pain holding your words, wanting more, and hearing her stories about her new boyfriends etc.

  • jus go for it dude, friend or not, i wuld luv this song sung to me!

  • She dances in syncopated beats and it's beautiful. Sorry, this reaction is delayed. I kind of just "discovered" this song last week. Beautiful!

  • I bet you she smells good = p

  • I love the look Jeff and Leslie share at 1:28. It's like, "This is cool."

  • Wilco Now!

  • lead singer reminds me of charles bronson. Anyways i love this song.

  • finally I found the author of this lovely song. I hope to play this song for a woman onde day. A woman who really deserves.

    alexandre

  • Great song! :)

  • Wilco - An american treasure

  • His voice reminds me of John Lennon.

  • Any way to cut David Letterman from this video?!

  • feist has the most beautiful voice among every woman singers!

  • Good stuff man.

  • This song makes me sad.

  • Lalala

  • Dear Leslie Feist, why haven't you marry me yet?

  • excellent

  • she's kind of a babe

  • @septip123 Kind of? She's hot as hell!

  • @septip123 Only kind of? I mean, if you don't want her I guess I'll take her =)

  • @septip123 kinda?? cmon now total babe... bill & ted would love her.

  • she's kind of a babe

  • some feel good muzac

  • what the hell is Nels using on that solo at the end to make that backwards sound????

  • @drummerinlinetube

Maybe a Boss SG-1, but most likely the swell or reverse effect on a Line 6 DL4

  • @CyclopsMonkey Nice call. It is indeed the reverse (with modulation) from the Line 6 DL 4.

  • I give thanks and praise for Wilco everyday.

  • great song...

  • this is just bliss

  • Thank you for clarifying... haha

  • was this song in a movie or tv show, extremely familiar

  • Greatest Band Of This Decade In My Opinion!

  • @BloodZombie79 radiohead?

  • @BloodZombie79 Fuckin A right man

  • WILCO !!!!!

  • like shes is sooo hot in the blue... drum beats forever

  • no it doesnt

  • Amazing performance, great sound .

What guitar is Nels playing? It's a 12 string one, but I can't see the trade.

  • @Cityclash That's a Jerry Jones single cutaway 12 string from 1996. I don't believe they make the grey finish anymore though.

  • Wilco are the best! I saw them three days ago, fantastic live show!

  • great song.. Please check out my cover :)

  • stirratt checking out feist's ass at 2:30!!

  • ohhh

    clever

    the camel is the "W"

  • Wow, this sounds a lot like Tom Petty &THB with the keys and guitar.

  • I agree. I always thought some of their songs sounded like Tom Petty.

  • Absolutely Amazing song, if only i could preform with them..

  • Nels.. where is your Jazzmaster buddy? =)

  • Nels Cline !

  • her sense of pitch is fantastic.

  • @pkward8 Yup. She's smart enough, and tasteful enough to use "Unison" (which I think means no cheesy harmony, but rather the same notes as what's his name (geoff?), but she keeps it an octave above his. Very nice way to approach the song. In fact, I wouldn't even listen to it were it not for her.. he he he

  • that's a fucking awesome solo.

  • What is Jeff's guitar? A martin? More preciously?

  • @zimlacrapule it's a Santa Cruz

  • that just sounded really ignorant....more preciously?

  • psychedelic as fuck

  • How did the guitarist get that sound out of his guitar at the end? One of the comments here says "backwards guitar solo", and it really does sound like it's in rewind! Is it just the way he's playing or is he using some kind of effect? I'm curious to know, thanks to anyone who can help.

Anyway, this performance was awesome, and the vocals went great together.

  • reverse delay, with the effect level turned up full

listen to give it away by the chili peppers

  • Thanks a lot! I'm a RHCP fan, but to be honest Give it Away is one song by them I just don't like. But I'll check it out again to see what you're talking about, thanks again!

  • Hi LostColourz yo u can get that sound with many delay pedals, the effect is called "reverse"

  • Hi tolepop238. Thanks a lot! I never heard a sound like that so I just wanted to know. Thanks again!

  • Beatles did the backwards guitars

  • so?

  • Bassist fluffs notes around 2:09. I like that!

  • i just creamed.

  • the backwards guitar solo at the end ROOCCKKSSSS

  • love my boy Tweedy - and with Feist a perfect compliment

  • oops, i just looked at your profile, we are the same age! lmao! goddamn, this is fun!

  • I just watched this four times. It sounds perfect to me. It's lovely.

  • @jwindyboy.. i sorta have to agree. i felt she was sort of out of place.. thought i was the only one..

  • the growing popularity of wilco could be a sign that we are exiting a time of a complete lack of any quality in popular music.

  • please kid...

  • i bet you love american idol, don't you, well maybe not now, but you used to.

  • hah! dude youre not alone with that statement there.

  • @tedharris1975

    THANK YOU! Well put...

  • @tedharris1975 Lets just hope
